To me, the worst part of this is the people no one thinks about.

For example, the people who responded to that shooter in DC yesterday. They weren't getting paid. They put their lives on the line to protect the same people directly responsible for their lack of income.

I also read that while military personnel will be paid during the shutdown, things like their supermarkets are closed. So they can receive their income, they just can't eat.
