But there's yet more irony in Dungy's anti-Sam statement: CBS Sports points out Dungy wrote the foreword for a book on discrimination and opportunity in the NFL.

I don't like him as a public figure, but he's a great person privately and was a huge help to my brother in law when his first wife passed away even though he was no longer playing for him.  They're still in touch today.
