Breaking news site that isn't crappy?

Back in the day I used to go to drudgereport.com because after you sifted out all the right wing nutjob crap, they actually seemed to always be the first to break important/urgent news and did a pretty good job with it.  That changed a few years ago and now it's just right wing crap from top to bottom and they aren't any better than anyone else at being the first to a story.

CNN.com used to do a good job of staying fairly close to the middle and a decent job of covering breaking stories.  Now everything is a breaking story, even if it's been going on for 6 months.  If there was an actual breaking story, they might not be able to find a font large enough or red enough and the site would implode.

Reuters seems ok, but I haven't been looking at that one too long.  Anyone have any recommendations on a good site to check the latest important news that isn't a massive pile of biased excrement or just flat out terrible?

Unless my portfolio is crashing, or the Russians are invading, I have zero interest in "breaking news"

If something is significant enough that I need to know, everyone will be talking about it anyway.

Otherwise all the "breaking news" is just some stupid political scandal, celebrity death, some random person that got raped/murdered, or some other nonsense.

It's actually pretty liberating not being subject to bullshit news stories on a daily basis. Not having access to NYC tabloids helps. I log onto cnn.com from time to time to see what's going on, maybe NYpost.com to see what's happening in NYC, but that's about it.

And the main story in the center was "sexy ladies hate other ladies selfies" or something to that affect.

It looks like the enquirer or some kind of garbage

And then the ticker changed to " japan's vagiphobia"
