Andre Johnson drama
« on: July 10, 2014, 11:32:43 AM »
I can't imagine they could trade him, but if they did the Patriots would be a good fit.  They really could use a solid veteran WR on the outside and they are in win-now mode.  So is Andre Johnson.

They only have 6 million or so in cap space, but I'm sure they could find a way to swing it if they really wanted to.

The Panthers should do everything they can to get this guy.  I don't care if he's out of his prime, they need to help Cam Newton take a step forward.
He shook my hand breed tub and walked away

I'd like to see that. Much better than him ending up in NE.

If I was a Texans fan I'd be desperately hoping we traded him

He's still a stud, but he's 33 and they don't have a  QB

Take the extra draft picks, and they could be pretty good in the near future

As a jets fan with money lying around, I wouldn't be opposed to bringing  Johnson here if the price wasn't too high.

We have a bunch of young WRs who need mentors, putting this guy opposite Decker with Kerley in the slot and Amaro running the seams would give us a pretty strong core for the next couple of years to help Geno grow.

I wouldn't mortgage the future but say for what we gave up for Braylon (3 and a 5) it would be worth it in my eyes.

Personally I would rather us not.

We're not a win now team

But my biggest issue would honestly just be us not addressing our needs at getting young at receiver

We got Decker, and I'd like to have a young #2 aside him

I'd rather us spend a first on a wr next year, than grab Andre for a 3rd and 5th

I don't know if Andre Johnson would fetch much because a team would need to absorb a large salary to take him on.

I'm not sure if rotoeorlds numbers are way off, but if they're true it's not bad at all.

I think like 28 million over 3 seasons?

Though according to sports track it's closer to 31.5 million over 3 years

But it doesn't say how much of that the Texans would get stuck with

I really don't think those are horrible numbers for Andre, especially since the 3rd year you can cut him without a ton of guaranteed money

Sure I might feel uneasy paying a 35 year old Andre Johnson 11 million

But its far from horrid

It's a good value, just not for us.

Maybe Denver should add him to replace Decker

Andre Johnson might suddenly be incredibly happy staying in Houston

Apparently the Raiders have had talks about trading for Johnson, and reuniting him with Matt Schaub

I think Andre wants to land on a championship caliber team.  Not sure he has any interest in going to Cleveland, Oakland, NYJ, etc

I think he's waiting to see where Lebron goes.

Are you saying Andre is going to the Dolphins or Browns?

Which makes me think

I'd really like to see him go to the Bengals
