Just watched it. My favorite part of the episode is Saleh and Rodgers walking through the facility and Saleh is explaining the goal is to “finish the wall” and each week highlights are added on the wall, designed to go straight to the super bowl. And Rodgers goes “oh look I made the wall” as they walk past week 6, and Saleh says something to the effect of “you’ll make it the other way now”
Something spectacular about that sequence and honestly that motivational tactic of finishing the wall. That’s a damn good one

Not a fan of the episode, but found Aaron rodgers endearing. He's nearly 40 and gets excited about things in the same way a 7 year old would.

This episode was basically a highlight reel of the offseason. There wasn't much that we hadn't seen already when it happened live.

I think that was the point of the episode...to give an in-depth look behind the scenes of what happened after the season until now.

I’d assume convoys with Saleh and Douglas discussing why Rodgers is the guy. Convos with Woody and Douglass discussing the compensation etc.
We got plenty of awesome stuff, but not much inside the choice to go for Rodgers. In the future I expect more great looks at why we signed FAs, and why we drafted our guys

Correct. We usually get the behind the scenes convos to show how they are thinking about things. This was just a highlight reel of the offseason which is fine, but I don't think I walked away knowing anything knew so I wasn't a huge fan of the episode.

Another takeaway i got from this week's episode is that our scouting dept puts in a excrement ton of work, and really does have a strong voice at the table in the draft war room. So it goes to show that having a competent GM is only part of the equation, you really need your scouting dept to produce results at an elite level too. They illustrated JD's reliance on his scouts really well in this episode. Fascinating excrement.

I don't think we did...it sounds like everyone just loved Tippman more.
The scene going around the room “who’s your top guy” and everyone was on Tippman spoke volumes.
But all the this guy or that guy talk, I don’t think they ever did a JMS vs Tippman discussion. I think it’s pretty clear NFL guys didn’t value JMS as much as media/fans, and while we will never know if anybody would have taken Tip between us and the Giants, nobody took Tip until the late 50s. Which tells me, the concerns about his athleticism and subsequently his ceiling was very real in draft rooms.
It’s also possible JD had a RAS score floor for prospects and JMS didn’t meet the bar, so he wasn’t even in the discussion for us.

they recapped a little of the 2022 draft, thought for sure you would've hated the episode for that.

Interesting to hear Joe go around the room during center evaluations and ask if his scouts had Tippman over Zay Flowers and Jordan Addison on their overall boards.

Just furthers the belief the Jets wanted to add a top WR this offseason to upgrade from Corey Davis.

Someone knew. Mayer to the Jets was a very popular bet leading up to the draft. The Jets ended up as one of the favorites to draft him. I was very confused, but I figured there was something to it.
As someone who wanted zero part of Mayer in the 1st round, the odds movement scared me a lot. Very glad we went McDonald instead.

Just a case of me wanting more, but I wish they showed what the draft room looked like for the Day 3 guys as well. Be interested to see all of those discussions
