so many good players left on the board. JD will be like a kid in a candy store.
-
Does Tindall's value jump because Dean is hurt?
Moving back a bit and getting another late third or early fourth would be cool with me. With Dean's neck injury, RB and S could be the move.
-
Jalen Pitre is your QB in the secondary if you can get him. He's probably the smartest defensive player in this draft class.
-
Dean is the only guy I’d be comfortable “guaranteeing” by sticking and picking. Anyone else I feel is worth trading back and getting extra picks for as theres a ton of prospects available to add.
My top guys in no order after Dean
Dean
Pitre
Brisker
Harris
Muma
Chenal
Tindall
Jurgens
Hall
Petit-Frere
Jones
Winfrey
-
If we take Raimann over Jurgens or Petit-Frere...

Apparently it's a "pec" injury, not a neck injury. I'm still drunk.
-
Say we pass on a position at 38, then you have to wonder who we can get later:
S - Kerby Joseph or Sterling Weatherford
RB - Pierre Strong
LB - Channing Tindall, Chad Muma, or Troy Andersen
-
Perrion Winfrey was a Top 30 visit.

Perrion Winfrey was a Top 30 visit.
This DT class is very weak, not much depth. Who of any kind of value can we get later?
I think if we really want to replace McGovern the pick is Jurgens, if we are comfortable riding with him another year, we will lean DT. I still think the value of Dean trumps everything if he’s healthy on any level

I think that's a very likely scenario. Most of the guys who I wanted to fall to round 2 have been taken, and the few that I thought were 1st-round picks play positions we've already filled. We could drop down and still find a safety, LB, OL, RB or DT later in the round.
I could see something like...
- 38 for 53, 92 and 171 with GB.
- 38 for 44 and 118 with CLE
- 38 and 146 for 51, 83 and 237 with PHI
- 38 for 55, 87, 201 and 244 with ARI
-

I would love some combination of Dean/Weatherford/Strong or Hall/Weatherford/Muma
-

If you don't get Leal or Winfrey, then you probably go for high RAS in the late rounds like we did with Jonathan Marshall last year. It's not a strong group at all.
We don't have any picks in the 6th or 7th.
If Winfrey's there, I'll be pretty surprised if we don't take him just because of the drop off. I do think the late run on safeties put some pressure on to take Pitre/Brisker.
-
I'm good with Orpah
-
Can't believe I forgot about Brian Asamoah too

I'm good with Orpah
Larb at 38

Albert Breer
@AlbertBreer
A few things ahead of tonight ...
• Breece Hall's seen by many as the clear No. 1 at RB. Should hear his name soon.
• CBs Kyler Gordon (testing #'s) and Andrew Booth (medical) have their issues, but they should go soon.
• A DL—maybe Logan Hall or Travis Jones—for Tampa?

Also, lots of ?s on Georgia LB Nakobe Dean. It's straight forward. He had a laundry list of injuries in college (ankle, foot, shoulder, wrist). Pec/groin hurt before pro day (may need pec surgery post-rookie year). Knee has wear-and-tear.
And being smaller magnifies all that.
-

The DT class isn’t that bad. There’s 8 more guys out there that I’d be happy to get that will start going off the board before we get to that three pick swing around pick 100.
Like if Matthew Butler, Otitto Ogbonnia, or Phidarian Mathis is there, that’s a win. I also think a lot of people value Haskell Garrett as a 3rd round guy, and if he’s there, it’s a home run. I think he’s a mid 2nd guy at worst.
-
There are always guys who fall at this point. The question is do the Jets have some guys rated significantly ahead of others or not. If they do, you take them.
I think they wanted to trade back from Rd 2 last year, but they couldn't pass up Elijah Moore.
-
Not hearing much buzz about the TEs but we should see a few tonight.
-
The more I read about Dean the more I get Blake "Injured himself just by moving on the sidelines" Cashman worries.
-

S - Kerby Joseph or Sterling Weatherford

In my eyes, the biggest drop off from who we could get at the top of the 2nd to the bottom of the third is at LB because I don’t see Tindall or Anderson being there. I think a LB run is coming on the heels of Quay and Lloyd.
I’d be cool with waiting at RB and grabbing one of the UGA backs or Strong and OT for Diesch or someone like that.
-
The more I read about Dean the more I get Blake "Injured himself just by moving on the sidelines" Cashman worries.
Except Dean was actually a good player in college
-
Not hearing much buzz about the TEs but we should see a few tonight.
McBride will go in the 60s I think. I’d be looking at TE at 101, 111 or 117. I expect Jelani Woods or Ruckert will be there. If so that might well be worth a swing
-
Well that was something.
-
Well that was something.
I’d have rather brought out penn and teller frankly, st least they are entertaining
-
Who's that with the sombrero?
-
Arians looking awfully relaxed for a “retiree”
-
Logan Hall is really good. There’s no way he’s not one of the best 32 players in the class. Just fit/tweener body led him to fall down a bit.
-
2/2 on players not on our big board
-
My guess.. titans take Corral here at 35
-
Who's that with the sombrero?
Aaron Jones apparently.
-
Pickens would have been way better for them.
-
Except Dean was actually a good player in college
Not really relevant if he gets on the field just as much as Cashman as a pro.
-

Curious what we gave up. DOnt want to check twitters

the trade up makes me think we're taking RB for some reason LOL.
as in 'the top RB is still available, lets make a move now'

Douglas looked giddy when someone asked him if guys he wanted were still there.

Leapfrogging Houston could make sense for that. Has to be a position they are worried about the Texans.
The problem is that it's hard to narrow down who the hell the Texans would need because it's everyone.
-
Curious what we gave up. DOnt want to check twitters
gave up a 5th rounder apparently
-
Time to crack open Bacardi Breecer?
-
Douglas looked giddy when someone asked him if guys he wanted were still there.
So we’ve traded 2 5th rounders and 30 slots in round 3 to move up for Johnson and whomever this is
-
Interesting move up. IMO its one of these 4:
Nakobe Dean
Travis Jones
Breece Hall
Jalen Pitre
-
So we're done after round 4 tomorrow? Perfect.
-
They've gone to commercials for 2 of our first 4 picks.

We jumped the Texans. Gotta be for a RB

with dean's injury history already, and with his new post-season/pre-draft injuries as well as the possibility of pec surgery after this season (if all of that is actually true/corroborated), i don't see JD risking such a high 2nd rd pick and so much draft capital for this move up to draft a guy with that sort of questionable injury record coming in, as good a player as he is
i very well may be wrong however because i do not know excrement
-
gave up a 5th rounder apparently
I hope we got a pick back with it because 146 is steep to move up 2 spots in Round 2.
-

JD trying to salvage his Saturday afternoon.

I believe that is JDs mentality right now

Zach praising Joe Douglas, Joseph Smith, L Ron Hubbard, Baby Yoda, etc this draft.

I mean what’s he supposed to do? I think we are well on our way to the best draft in the league… but Zach’s not gonna call him out even if we weren’t doing as well as we are now.
-
Think i am ready for a nap
-
I mean, it's true. We got a bad value on the draft chart. I figured with lacking any picks in Round 6 of 7 that we could squeeze out another pick back. It's not a huge deal, but it's right.
I don't love taking running backs early, but hard to complain about helping our offense like this, especially with a guy like Hall who is really good. We've added arguably the best WR, CB and RB in this class, and we got a top-15 player in Johnson at 26 at a position of need.
Great draft so far. Four starters.
-
nice touch by the nfl and goodell with the falcons pick here
But they made that poor lady pronounce Ebiketie
-
JD got 4 legitimate cornerstones. Top players at CB, WR and RB in the draft- all huge needs for us, and a top rated pass rusher. The amount of high end prospects he’s added in the past few years is amazing.

If everything works out, no one will care about how the 2020 draft turned out overall.
-
My next “man I wonder if” is going to be whether JD couples two of those picks we have left to move to the top half of the third.
-
My draft hat has delivered a stellar draft class so far.
You're welcome guys
-
My next “man I wonder if” is going to be whether JD couples two of those picks we have left to move to the top half of the third.
We'd have to have a LOT of faith in our UDFA targets.
Both that they would be there and that they would succeed.
-
JD did say his first four picks SHOULD all be starters, well yeah I believe he did that. And depending on the position he takes at 101 (also prime slot to trade down since we are “lacking” capital on day 3 now). But he could quite likely grab a LB or a S there that also starts day 1 for us.
Douglas has worked absurd magic, let’s just let him keep waving his magic wand and “force” a much more highly rated player to fall in our laps yet again
-
Everybody hates Malik.

H was wondering about a few of our “30 visits” and wondering why we would waste those on guys that would almost certainly be UDFAs, perhaps this is why.
I will say that after doing my 7 round mock about 10 days ago, I HATE the late round prospects in this class. I don’t believe in the late round depth in this class at all. Mid-round 5 and I was taking guys I didn’t think should be drafted. So I’m all for moving up to secure your dudes. Nobody cares if the class is “small” if every guy produces. Our Idzik 12 class was a complete disaster. And at the end of it a 6 or 7 player class with 4 major contributors and a few role player/depth guys is worth far more to us
-
Everybody hates Malik.
But he gave that homeless guy a hat!
I saw Malik Willis at a grocery store in Virginia the other week. I told him how cool it was to meet him in person, but I didn’t want to be a douche and bother him and ask him for photos or anything.
He said, “Oh, like you’re doing now?”
I was taken aback, and all I could say was “Huh?” but he kept cutting me off and going “huh? huh? huh?” and closing his hand shut in front of my face. I walked away and continued with my shopping, and I heard him chuckle as I walked off.
When I came to pay for my stuff up front I saw him trying to walk out the doors with like fifteen Milky Ways in his hands without paying. The girl at the counter was very nice about it and professional, and was like “Sir, you need to pay for those first.” At first he kept pretending to be tired and not hear her, but eventually turned back around and brought them to the counter.
When she took one of the bars and started scanning it multiple times, he stopped her and told her to scan them each individually “to prevent any electrical infetterence,” and then turned around and winked at me. I don’t even think that’s a word. After she scanned each bar and put them in a bag and started to say the price, he kept interrupting her by yawning really loudly.

Daniel Jeremiah the other day pretty much said 6th and 7th round picks are worthless this year, that they should just be used to trade up or for future picks.
-
We'd have to have a LOT of faith in our UDFA targets.
Both that they would be there and that they would succeed.
I’m ok with shrinking the draft class if it means getting another player that they really really like. They could always pick up a 7th as a toss in to guarantee they can add one of those guys.
-
Ed Marinaro got the wrap-it-up box.
-
Wandale Robinson over Sky Moore and Pickens?
Ok Giants…

Gotta wonder how far Pickens drops and exactly how big of an poopchute teams think he is.

Yea, I don't have a problem with it.
I just think in a draft with this weak of a back end they have to have a lot of faith that the guys they like will make it through.
-
Wandale Robinson over Sky Moore and Pickens?
Ok Giants…
He’s absolutely better than Skyy Moore. Pickens is just a totally different type of wideout and they might think he’d be redundant with Golladay.
-
Texans just traded up with the Browns.

Jeremiah said on Move the Sticks that the class is strong from ~25-130, and then is pretty weak afterwards. If JD feels similarly, makes sense to consolidate all of our picks to that range and then just grab UDFAs
-

Bringing up Mero to announce a bust. Sad.

Texans traded up…
Curious but I’m wondering if they go Spiller and wrap up the round 2 RB pool
-

I should have added: they have a lot of faith in the guys they like to be there or they don't think anyone is that different from the rest of the pack at that point.
-

Given that we are seemingly drafting with DJs board, I’d expect he’s pretty similarly in agreement with DJ about that as well
-
Steve Smith is saying the Panthers are getting ready to trade for Baker Mayfield
-
I mean seriously…
Sauce was DJs #2 player, Wilson was his 4, Johnson was 9
Jets already admitted that all 3 were top 8 players on their board.
Breece hall was 28 on DJs board.

The Browns' first pick of this draft will be 78.

Honestly, it makes sense. Baker and Darnold are still relatively young, and both were highly thought of just a few years ago. Maybe you luck into a QB of the future between the two if you can afford the salary.

They are masters of the “I have a board and won’t deviate” so go ahead and jump me, I’ve got another guy I really like ready to go.

Josh Paschal is such a beast. Dude is kind is a tweener size wise, but is an excellent player all around. Can get after the QB and is otherworldly strong.
-
Ojabo to the Ravens. excrement.
he was the player i was 'consolation prize'-ing myself with pre-injury after all of the suggestion that neither hutch nor KT would be available to us at 4
if he comes back healthy he's going to be so fvckin good. i was texting a buddy that i could see the ravens making a shrewd move like this a few minutes before they actually ended up drafting him, and it still pissed me off that they did that
-
Ojabo to the Ravens. excrement.
Ojabo's DC at Michigan is the new Ravens' DC....sneaky good pick for them.

Oh hey the hot wings guy. Wish he'd tell a 10 minute meandering story.

He should do very well there. I wanted another pass rusher on the roster to bolster the defense but I have no problem with Breece Hall instead.
Giving Zach the weapons is the right call.

Zero TEs and only one QB so far. Holy excrement.

Had to Google who the hell that was.

There is always a faller due to medical. Dean seems to be the guy this year. I am going to watch us pass the dude by 3 more times before he gets picked aren’t I?
The question is is he this years Trey Smith or is he the next of hundreds of other injured guys who never returned to form?
-
So many trades left and right this draft. Most absurd draft ever,

pats trading up in the mid 2nd round to pick a guy from kutztown u, i'm calling it right here right now

i felt this when i read the reports about his pre-draft injuries earlier today (again, if these reports are actually corroborated and true), and was almost certain we wouldn't trade up to draft a guy with those sorts of questions surrounding him when we jumped up
if he truly tore his pec / groin and will need pec surgery after the season, and with his pre-existing injury history, and with him already being undersized / 5'11, and with all of this going on even before he takes a down in the nfl where the players who will be hitting him back are bigger/faster/stronger.....would you risk one of your 2nd round picks on this guy?
again i am likely wildly wrong here but my gut tells me that a guy like this, as good as he is, will be available in the third

I need us to have a better record than the Patriots next year to punish them for their absurd drafting.

Nakobe Dean, Christian Harris, Troy Andersen, and Chad Muma are all guys I thought would make their way into round 2, expected them to come flying off the board by now. Good LB's left for teams to get!

Not a chance, I think he's absolutely terrible for that offense.

Surprised Patriots have gone two picks without taking a dude from Rutgers.

If his injuries are bad, as they seem to be, Dean is going to slide. I wouldn’t be shocked if he drops to the 5th if he’s actually fucked by injury. I would take him in a red-shirt scenario in the 3rd without question. If they think he can play after getting healthy it’s absolutely worth it. Obviously different if they don’t think he ever will be.
But at some point his elite talent is worth the injury risk. I’m hoping he ends up being worth it right around pick 101
-

Wondering how long before Pickens takes Claypools job and gets him shipped out for being an poopchute just like he eventually did to Juju
-
Collectively, the league believes this qb class is awful, and the LB and DT groups are mediocre, as only two of each have gone in the top 53.

if dean truly falls to the 3rd i can see a team taking a flyer there. teams use 3rd/4th rd picks on extremely talented players with either injury or character concerns all the time
with the amount of LBs left i'm holding out hope that at least tindall will still be available at 101

First TE off the board.
-
First TE off the board.
I think McBride is a great fit in Arizona.
-
if dean truly falls to the 3rd i can see a team taking a flyer there. teams use 3rd/4th rd picks on extremely talented players with either injury or character concerns all the time
with the amount of LBs left i'm holding out hope that at least tindall will still be available at 101
I did a board a bit ago, and frankly there’s a ton of LBs on the board. Somebody is gonna be there at 101. I’m not so sure anyone will be for DT or S. I expect 101 is either an OL or a LB right now
-
Collectively, the league believes this qb class is awful, and the LB and DT groups are mediocre, as only two of each have gone in the top 53.
Part of it just that stopping the run is less important in the NFL in 2022. Linebacker and pure DT aren't as important when you're playing so much nickel and dime packages on defense, unless you can play every down at a high level.
-
Top targets by position. Let me know if I’m missing somebody you like

That's where I'm at. Rooting for LBs and OL to fall. And Travis Jones.

This is a good point. Clearly prioritizing some other positions as well across the league
-
Another weird thing about this draft, it’s gone weirdly chalk so far at defensive back. My top 8 corners and top 5 safeties are all picked and are the only DBs picked.
Like no random dude who had a great 40 and only played one season of D2 ball like occasionally pops into the 2nd.
-
Falcons take the flyer on the raw athletic linebacker
-
There goes Andersen
-
I feel like Anderson would have fit really well in our defense. Tall, fast, strong in coverage.
-
idgaf if he's guaranteed to miss 2022, if dean is around at our 3rd we have to take him
-

The Patriots have only had 2 draft picks, give it time.

Bengals trade with Bills.

Oh I very much agree. If Ojabo can go 45 then Dean can absolutely go 101 for a redshirt year
-
Hall just drove over to the draft and said get me on stage Roger
Haha freaking love it man
-
Breece driving over from Circa in a white tee. Love it.
-
that was a nice moment from breece haha. he's having fun with the jet fans now
-
Breece got the LeSean McCoy comp....im hard
-
When’s the last time a team drafted 4 guys who walked across the stage? I’m not sure if that’s ever happened in the past 10 years or that the draft expanded the green room to so many guys
-
that was a nice moment from breece haha. he's having fun with the jet fans now
WTF? I completely missed this.
-
WTF? I completely missed this.
approx 10-15 minutes ago. they announced he wanted to come out and celebrate with the fans. was given a hat and shook hands with goodell, then was interviewed on stage.
he said we tried to trade into the back end of the 1st round for him last night but were obviously unsuccessful. if true i guess this means JD was trying to get back in even after the JJ pick
-

He was. We almost had 4 1st rounders. Douglas wants no part of the 3rd day of the draft.

-
this will be our 2000 foundation draft the the '20s
Honestly 21 and 22 are going to be this generations version of 2006 and 2007. Except I think we already got more players in these two years than we did in 06 and 07 which resulted in our core 4, Nick and Brick, Harris and Revis
-
I might be out of my mind, but I have 23 guys on that board. I think somebody is still on that board when we draft at 117. I think we might be able to get 3 dudes from this board between 101, 111 and 117
-
Still only 1 QB. Lol
-
Please, no more wrestlers, I'm begging
-
Still only 1 QB. Lol
Which of the remaining QBs could have stayed in school? They should have.

Everyone still hates Malik.

Is he in the green room?
-
Petit Frere is French for "tiny brother". Or "whale's vagina" I'm not sure.
-
Muma milkers gone
-
Cmon NFL we need a run on QBs here in this round. Push down the position players
-
the Jags spent huge money on LBs in FA, then traded up for Lloyd, and then took Muma. Baalke is so awful
-

There's no run happening. They'll all fall far enough until a team says freak it why not.

72, 73, 74 sounds like a “freak it why not” section of the draft to me
-

Yeah but none of them are going to leap into action out of FOMO because someone else took a QB at this point.
-
Woods before Dulcich?
-
That hat Malik Willis gave the homeless guy? Smallpox.
-
Ridder before Willis lol!

Ridder is one guy down

Mariota/Ridder will be an interesting situation to watch

Any decent centers left?

I bet Ravens take Travis Jones or Winfrey here
Despite the nfl guys saying they take Dean. They already took their redshirt player in Ojabo.

Alec Lindstrom is my favorite 4-5th round center guy

If the freaking Ravens draft Nakobe Dean...

Hoping we get Winfrey

At least he belongs going in this round.
Please play him outside as the JC Jackson replace, ent…

Tindal and Chenal are there at LB. Both are great picks at the end of round 3. Couple safeties. Still several receivers I'm happy with.
Also a couple CBs and edge rushers, but not sure we need either right now.

Yeah, I'm fixating on those 2 LBs. Wouldn't mind Winfrey either.

Gotta make sure you spell the Gay Flag Football League right or you could get in a lot of trouble.

Was Tindall a senior Bowl guy?

What in the hell is Kyle Brandt about to do

Oh hey I can finally see us on the ticker

Let’s fire the streamer into the sun.

Panthers give up a 3rd next year to the Pats. Gotta be a QB. It’s either Corral or Howell.
-
We're definitely trading down out of round 3 after I've been watching for this long.

Anotha one
-
We are up in 5 picks
-
I wonder what the over/under for games until Darnold is benched for Corral will be
-
Colts also flipping a 3rd next year to move up…
For Nick Cross. High RAS guy who many thought JD would really like
-
My best options for this pick:
OT Kellen Diesch
OT/OG Darian Kinnard
TE Jeremy Ruckert
DT Perrion Winfrey
DT Haskell Garrett
LB Channing Tindall
LB Leo Chenal
LB Brandon Smith
S Verone McKinley
S Kerby Joseph
-

Darnold will muddle along ok, but he has no help. That team sucks and Tiny Rex is gonna get fired.
Darnold will have a decent shot at being a long-term backup in the league.
-
freak there goes our S target
-
We will draft a random dude I've never heard of from an obscure school.
-
Based on Jeremiah's remaining board, if Winfrey is available when we pick I expect JD to take him.

Verone McKinley is a ballhawk, he'd be good

i came here to post this lol. this is that pick, we're probably going to draft a guy none of us are hoping for/expecting here
-
Sleeper guess Enagbare if we go edge again…
-
Forgot Myjai Sanders was out there
-
Still solid options at LB, DT and OL.
This is usually the point of the draft we take someone random though.

Go fill out the entire playmaker room

TREVON "CUT" WESCO
-
That’s pretty sweet, thought he would be the target with one of the 4ths
-
We drafted a freaking Jets fan
This dude will be a goddamned fan favorite in a NY minute
-
Bring the Ruckert!!!
-
New Jersey Jets babbie
-
TREVON "CUT" WESCO
lmfao
since last night ive been thinking about how we could have gotten a mid round pick for mims at the trade deadline last year as opposed to the blunt derriere cut he's about to get from us soon
-
The fanbase is going to love him early.
-
We drafted a freaking Jets fan

He'll replace GVR's fandom

holloway is a fvckin clown lol. messes up saying 2022 (20-20-20-20-22), his son starts clowning him, then he calls us the new jersey jets

-
Hah damn both LBs gone in a flash
-
I guess JD wasn't kidding when he said he liked our linebackers.
-
Bit disappointed we didn't grab Tindall or Chenal, thought there was fine TE value later with guys like Kolar, vs the drop off now at LB, but meh

Cashman sprained his injured reserve

Kind of funny the Rams draft a guard after the Strange stuff.
-
Brandon Smith is a LB to watch for one of those 4th rounders. His body type and skillset is a lot like Fred Warner, just underdeveloped.

I know we all keep wanting defense… JD and Saleh have made it clear Zach is the only priority.
In the last two drafts
AVT
Moore
Carter
Wilson
Hall
Ruckert
We are creating a young exciting offense that has potential to become something special. Now all we need is Zach to make strides this off-season and start looking like “The Guy.” And with all this young talent around him, he’s got every opportunity to do just that.

Ok boobs though
-
Damone Clark could be interesting. I am always a fan of taking a chance of someone whose draft stock is dropping due to injury. It will suck to pick someone who will miss his rookie year, but last year's LBs (Safeties) we took did as well.
-
This woman has negative charisma.
Nobody has ever looked more miserable to be anywhere than Dawn Aponte at the NFL Draft.
-
I would guess Winfrey is a top target in round 4 tomorrow
