Big East-Big Ten challenge series: Big East has won 6 of 8 thus far vs. a conference that placed 9 teams in the NCAAs last March. Providence broke Wisconsin's 23-game home court winning streak, Marquette beat #10 ranked Illinois and Seton Hall beat #4 Michigan at Ann Arbor. Creighton beat Nebraska in Lincoln, Xavier beat #19 Ohio State, while St. John's lost their starting guard on a flagrant foul call at Indiana, costing them in a 2 point loss. Though Iowa's not playing for the Big Ten, the Big East was without Villanova and UCONN.
Shriner's Classic (Charleston, SC): St. Bonaventure over Boise State; Clemson over Temple; Bonnies-Clemson today.

G'twn (6-25) fought Seton Hall (21-9) tooth & nail before losing 57-53 well after midnight at the Garden; great game.
Rick Pitino's #1 seeded Iona Gaels (25-6) lost to the 13-18 Rider Broncs in the MAAC tourney in Atlantic City. Pitino probably had 'em in the casinos banging cocktail waitresses two at a time..
