We should be a pass-first offense. We have a lot of receivers who are good getting YAC, including our running backs. Throw short passes instead of running it. Then that opens up the run when we want to do it.

The weird thing is I actually come out of today kind of optimistic about our long-term future.
The Colts don't have a great defense, but we have 340 yards of offense on them with 8 minutes to go. And that's with our 2nd and 4th string quarterbacks, and it's without our #1 receiver, our supposed franchise left tackle, and even our top TE got hurt during the game.
The last two weeks have shown an offensive competence that we haven't had in a while. Elijah Moore looks graet. Carter looks great. The scheme looks good. AVT looks great.
I would much rather lose 45-23 than 26-0.

It's also that Mike White was legitimately good when he played. Josh Johnson has been good today. If White and Johnson were trainwrecks, it would look great. Instead, it looks like we don't know how to self scout.
The other explanation is that Flacco is a great mentor, and they didn't think they had enough people to support Zach and the QB room. So they bring in Flacco and they bring in Beck. If it's a 6th-round pick on fire to help mentor Zach, it makes more sense.

I'm optimistic after this game. Sure, some of it is just garbage time against a team that was already celebrating.
But we haven't scored 4 offensive touchdowns in back-to-back games since 2011. We've now done that with our 2nd and 4th string quarterbacks. If Zach Wilson is anywhere near as good as we hope he can be, hopefully we can sustain this success. He's obviously very smart. Combine LaFleur's upgraded offense with Wilson having learned some things watching, and we could be sneaky good offensively.
