That first play was about as fluky as it gets.
The long TD… that’s a tough play for a Mike to make in that alignment. The safeties did a shitty job there.

There aren't that many starters sitting out on defense it looks like. Hall, Austin, Nasirildeen, Sherwood, Foley all in there. No Mosley and Maye obviously, but we have a lot of guys out there that will play a significant role.
The key to this defense will be the pass rush. The Lawson injury hurt so much.

Fair point. Just haven't watched the Jets play in a while, and haven't been able to watch a preseason game in full yet, so I might be overreacting.

I watched the first quarter of that game. He was OK; slow through progressions and one wild pass over the middle, but mostly making his throws fairly well. Obviously he could have fallen apart since I switched over but he wasn't terrible when I was watching.
Chuba Hubbard is a massive downgrade from Christian McCaffrey though. Have to think that with McCaffrey on the field the defense is going to play a bit differently.

The Panthers have great weapons, but their offensive line is terrible. I thought in Week 1 that we would be able to dominate in the trenches on defense and give us a chance to win. A lot more worried about that now.

Which really worries me because this penalty is probably going to come out of nowhere to kill some important drives.

Taunting would be towards another player. He was celebrating himself.
