It's the best QB play we've gotten since Sam v. Dallas last year.
But we are actually chucking the ball down field. We have thrown it deep what 4 times? 1 59 yard TD, 1 43 yard penalty 1 TD to Crowder (not sure the distance) and 1 incompletion in the end zone.
Good excrement happens when you throw it deep in this league. We haven't done it in forever with consistency.
I will say I will believe the 2nd half will be more of the same when I see it. Belicheck is going to scheme up pressure on Flacco (who should have thrown an INT earlier today already). Given the way we 'adjust' at half time, I expect this second half also looks ugly.
I know a 10 point lead makes us feel invincible, because any time we are down 10 it's literally impossible to come back, but for actual NFL franchises that's no where near insurmountable, especially when you add that Newton is 11-12 and he missed a wide open receiver for his incompletion. I fully expect our terrible defense to let us down in the end.

I assume the next 8 minutes will play out as follows:
Patriots score on 3rd down with 7:15 or so to play
Jets receive the kick and run 3 straight times getting stopped and punt to the Pats with 4 minutes to play
Patriots are in Jets territory in a flash, and then it's anybody's guess how that drive finishes when 2 bad teams are competing for who is worst
Ends with a pass interference on us to set them up on the 1. Probably on 3rd or 4th and long.

Agreed. There is 0 doubt in my mind the Patriots are doing all they can to try to win this game. At 2-6, their season is not dead yet in a 7-team postseason (or maybe an 8-team postseason if things get shortened).
