What’s funny is I felt like his feet were much less happy last week when he realized his OL wasn’t going to get him killed. Now he might well be back to happy feet by the end of the day because McDermott and Edoga is not a recipe for protection

Darnold's comp pct and yds per att are fine considering our lack of weapons but two 1st-half picks is brutal, especially when i keep reading about how many screens we are running.

I think the game plan is much more aggressive than last week. But our weapons don’t scare anybody. The first pick the DB was sitting on the out route because he knew that guy wasn’t beating him deep. The second pick, the guy made a mistake in coverage, so Cager looked open, but as the guy turned to go back to “his guy” Sam uncorked the ball, which ended up in the recovering DBs lap.
They both suck and can’t happen. Sam has to be better protecting the ball. But given our lack of weapons and guys who can’t get real separation, he has to take chances to move the football and try and score.

I am not giving up on Darnold. But he made bad interceptions at USC, under Bates and under Gase.

the coaching foundation is brittle in NY....any young QB would fail miserably under this regime.
Yeah, i get he had turnover problems in college. But his ceiling was quite high when he arrived in the NFL. Gase burnt that to the ground.

Because a new coach could've fixed him....if we fired Gase last year, when i wanted him fired. Now we've blown another season, and by the looks of it, Darnold's confidence along with it.
EDIT: Dowell Loggains never should've been allowed to be in the same room, same field, same table, same shower stall as Darnold....
