I was hoping to look like we belonged on the same field instead of playing in college somewhere.
If we are gonna be bad, I really hope it's 2-14 bad. At least be bad enough to get us Lawrence, and completely reset everything. I will forever hate us for ruining Sam if that happens because he had all the potential in the world, but this team is bad enough that if he isn't executing at a high level, we will definitely be that bad.

They took an inferior QB prospect, and surrounded him with as much talent as they could. In doing so, he has clearly taken strides. I will be curious to see him against an actual NFL team. But if he jumps to becoming a top 10 guy, we are in for a long period of freaking hurt. Again

Hell chances are really good we don't have a shot at him this year either. We will do things in typical Jets fashion and end up picking 4th at 3-13 but manage to "win" all the tiebreakers.

The big wild card this season is that the lack of preseason and practice time could end up causing some wild results early in the season. Maybe this is one of them.
But the Jets aren't going to have a single Pro Bowler again this year. Who is our best player? Bell? Maye? Quinnen? Herndon? Jenkins? Darnold?
We don't have a good roster, and we probably don't have a good coaching staff. I hope I'm wrong, but this game is basically all my fears about this team.

Mosley and Bell? Yes I do. Mosley was a top 3 ILB with no injury history, you pay top prices for premium players. I'm fairly sure that if we had a coach that any of the players remotely believed in he'd have played this year, but why risk getting injured playing for a excrement coach with a track record of mistreating injured players when the league is giving you an out?
And Bell was and is an elite RB who we got for less than what at one point his market looked like being. Again, in a team that understood the difference between its arse and its elbow he'd be a hell of a weapon. He was showing signs of it today.
My point is that the claim that this team is excrement because Douglas can't afford to sign good players because the previous guy left him with no money to spend might make more sense if we didn't have the second most cap space in the league. You said that you can't see why we couldn't keep Anderson as well, and I agree because there is no reason we couldn't. Bell's game is heavily based on using superior visionreading the blocking on front of him. When your OLine is getting beat in the tunnel ng game, that skill set is void.
