Former NFL MVP Cam Newton has reached agreement on a one-year, incentive-laden deal with the New England Patriots, league sources tell @mortreport and me.
Newton now will step into the mix to try to help replace former Patriots’ QB Tom Brady.

That's dumb. A player is worth what his market says he's worth. Why would someone give him a bunch of extra money they don't have to? Either he has no market, or he values the team and situation he's going to over the amount of money he's getting. The former makes this his market value, the latter makes markets irrelevant.

I presume the issue is that this is being framed as race being a key factor in Cam Newton being underpaid. Especially when it was pointed out that chase Daniels will make more than Newton and Jameis Winston combined.
Though in the case of both of those guys, they basically both ended up in dream scenarios for them to potentially rebuild their values, and I imagine both left quite a bit of money on the table to be in those situations

Even with Stidham, I looked at the Patriots as the team to beat in the AFC East. The king stay the king until they are dethroned, and they still have an elite defense and Bill Belichick. On paper, the Bills were better, but I needed to see it to believe it.

I don't think what we do with Gase is going to be affected by whether we play three or four more games or the rest of the season. He's gone either way.

I want the Johnsons to be as nauseous as we are watching this team.....i don't think they're at that point yet (even though they should be). I want a guarantee Gase is out by the end of the season.

Just because athletes are "surviving" it doesn't mean they won't suffer from any major side effects
