Assuming the Jets stay at 11, which players would you be satisfied drafting at 11?
Leaving out the unreasonables, and in no order:
Becton (may end up unreasonable)
Wills
Wirfs
Thomas
Ruggs
Jeudy
Lamb
The only corners or pass rushers I'd want will be long gone by 11. Help Sam.
-
Your list is mine, almost in order. But I would take Lamb off the happy list and say “ok with” list. He would be there with guys like Chaisson, Fulton and Jones.
Lots of guys I’d be happy with, but only a couple I’d be ecstatic about. Becton, Wirfs, Jeudy and Ruggs is that list. Id say that’s unlikely to change between now and draft day.

I think I'd take Lamb as the top WR for what we need.

Thomas
Jewdy
Lamb
Young
Okudah
Forget about those last 2.
-
i want one of becton, jeudy, wills
-
Becton or Ruggs
-
Its all about protecting Sam....so I’m good with one of Wirfs, Wills, Becton, and Thomas. In random order.

There's no random order anymore.
Mekhi Becton and Jedrick Wills are the clear cut top tackles. Tristan Wirfs' combine performance puts him ahead of Andrew Thomas.
Thomas isn't a physical specimen but he's a relatively safe pick. I do think he could fall into the teens, depending on how the top ten shakes out. I'd be shocked if Douglas took Thomas over Becton/Wills/Wirfs.
-
I'm taking Ruggs over Jeudy and Lamb if we go receiver.
But I'm truly hoping we get a tackle at 11 and look at Tee Higgins or DPJ in the second.

We need 4 QBs to go in the top 10

We need 4 QBs to go in the top 10
We need a top 10 that has all of these guys in it
Burrow
Tua
Herbert
Young
Okudah
Simmons
Brown
That means we are getting one of the top OTs or top WRs. Hell I really hope Zona decides to take Lamb, further pushing guys down the bird to us

We need to factor in teams trading up in front of us for these tackles as well.
-
After tonight, I don't think there's any way Isaiah Simmons makes it out of the top ten.
We need Derrick Brown, Jeffrey Okudah, and Isaiah Simmons to go top ten.
Joe Burrow and Chase Young definitely going top two, unless Washington does something stupid like trade out or actually draft Tua.
That still means that Young goes top three.
If four defensive players and two quarterbacks go in the top ten, I highly doubt the other four picks are all tackles. We'll have a shot at at least one of the Top 4 tackles at 11.
-
I want a left tackle.
The good ones don’t hit free agency, the draft hasn’t had top OT talent in recent years, and if we’re decent we won’t be in position to draft one anytime soon.
We can always get a WR, CB, EDGE elsewhere.
Get Darnold a cornerstone on the OL and Ill feel a lot better about his development going forward.

Hopefully one of those top 3 or 4 are there at 11. Should be. Pretty top heavy tackle draft. WRs will be abound in rounds 2 and 3. Not as good as the top 3 WRs, but not a huge falloff.
-

In another draft thread you had said you wouldn't take DPJ before the 4th round. Did his stock shoot up that much with his performance at the combine?
-
Build the OLine, protect Sam.
-

I watched him more closely after his vert and broad
He is far from a sure thing but he is very good after the catch and in the redzone
-
The more news that comes out of the combine (Ruggs incredibly fast 40 time, Isaiah Simmons impressive showing, Becton's size and measurables, Love and Herbert impressing) the more I think we can engineer a small trade down with Oakland or Indy so that one jumps in front of the other for their preferred WR and we can move down, maybe grab another third and still be in position to grab a Thomas or certainly an Austin Jackson.
I'd love Becton. I don't think he'd be there. I love Wirfs as a prospect. I have no idea if he can play left tackle. I know this flies in the face of everything I've been saying about the importance of protecting Sam, and I absolutely do not expect him to fall out of the top 10, but I'd absolutely jump on Okudah if he's there.
-
Derrick Brown or Javon Kinlaw
-
I want no part of Austin Jackson in the top 50.
Wirfs is still the guy I am hoping for at 11. I just assume Becton and Wills are locks to go ahead of us, and if the board breaks right, OT 2 goes to Cleveland and we get Wirfs at 11.
-
I want no part of Austin Jackson in the top 50.
If we sign Conklin, I'd be more than okay with us drafting WR at 11 and Austin Jackson in the second round.
-
Regardless of whether we come out of free agency with one of the big free agent offensive linemen or not, I feel like we need to come away with one of the big 4 OT's. If we have to trade up with Jacksonville/Arizona than so be it....

I’d be shocked if Douglas gave up picks in his first draft

I’d be happy going OT in round 2 in that scenario. But I just can’t get behind Jackson as a guy I’m drafting to start day 1. Give me Niang, PTW above him, possibly even a few other guys.
Side question what the hell is gonna happen with Ben Bartch? Is he Marpet 2.0?
-
I’d be shocked if Douglas gave up picks in his first draft
Seconded. He is more likely to trade down than up unless he’s giving up a player to move up

Idk why people keep saying that bot the ravens and eagles trade up all the time
-
Idk why people keep saying that bot the ravens and eagles trade up all the time
Because they have depth and we don't? They have drafted well enough to not have 12 holes at any one time. This gives them the ability to gamble on guys by moving up for them. We have tons of holes / depth issues. This isn't the time to go up the board especially given the depth of this class on the OL, at least on the top end anyways.
-
If JD traded our first for yannick - happy or mad?
Rumors (probably fake) of eagles packaging Dillard and Alshon together. What would you give up?
-
mad if we trade our 1st rounder for ngakoue, and i'm a fan of his.

I'd be livid...but i'm convinced JD isn't looking to trade away draft capital, and it's a well known fact that our oline is top priority.
Alshon's sloppy fat derriere shouldn't be allowed anywhere near this team.

Why in the hell would they trade away Dillard unless he is a disaster and just not ready to play. I don't care how badly you want out of Alshon's contract. Which means I would really want a cheap deal and a lot of information about what's wrong with Dillard and why they are willing to move him.

Thats why I think this is likely fake or something we shouldn't be interested in.

the draft is still 7 weeks away.
7....more....weeks.

Any of the top 4 OL
Any of the top few WR (Jeudy, Ruggs, Lamb)
Chase Young
Okudah
I'll have more concrete opinions on the WR before the draft. Probably not going to watch the OL as much. I know a lot of people are anti-cornerback, but if Okudah is somehow there at 11, he is a great match of need and talent.

If Okudah falls to 11, I’d be upset if we took anyone other than Becton over him

Even though you don't think Becton is suited to the way Douglas is building the line?

I think that Mekhi Becton is the second best player in this draft class behind only Chase Young.
If he makes it to 11, you pick him and make it work.

Still feel this way
if Okudah falls to 11, i'll eat my hat.

Nice piece on Ruggs from TDN...

...but the highlight is the "non-highlight" reel from Twitter

freaking hell, that's some football porn. I no longer have a preference among the top three wideouts. They're 1a, b, and c and they're all going to be superstars.
