They have a pair of good safeties and Sam Hubbard can be a problem off the edge with all the attention that Geno and Dunlap get.

Berrios had an awful drop. Darnold took a deep shot to Anderson and it was a bit underthrown.
We had a huge screen play called back due to a block in the back.
Brian Poole missed some time with a concussion evaluation and Dalton went after Maulet/Canady.

Hopefully the Jets can keep it under a 2 TD deficit and figure out something at the half because they are dead. Offense hasn't been as bad as the stats, but the defense looks worse. Gase seems to be trying to mix it up on offense.

This offensive line is lacking in talent, but basic disciplinary and technique issues are a failure of coaching. Remind me who appointed the OL coach?

I'm not giving him a pass, this sucks. But we aren't that good. When the OL can't block anybody, sometimes the offense will sputter. I'm more disappointed in the defense being unable to get any stops, but we are playing guys at CB and LB who weren't even on the roster Week 1. We are 3-point favorites, it's not like we're supposed to demolish these guys.
I've been taking the long approach with Gase. He's coming back next year anyway, so it makes no sense to say fire him after every loss. As long as Darnold looks like he's getting better, I'm pretty much giving Gase a pass for this season.

For a start, Bowles went 10-6 in his first season. Secondly, I didn't find every possible excuse for him. I liked him and was willing to give him time to figure things out, because he had actually had a career in which he'd actually demonstrated an ability to coach a football team.

I'm with you. But several people seemed positive.
To date we are 4-8, have lost to 2 winless teams, and have beaten 4 teams with a combined 14 wins this season.
We have been blown out more times than I can count, and the offense has been scary bad in almost all of the performances this season.

Kinda where I am. Gase doesn't give me the warm fuzzies, but this team has a horrible offensive line and injuries have killed the defense.

We are. We are that bad. If you're seeing positive signs that aren't part of the natural progression of a hugely talented sophomore QB then you're making a real effort to look for them because they aren't there.
Gase hasn't achieved anything in his career that isn't directly attributable to the greatest QB to ever play the game. 31 other teams in the position we were in last spring wouldn't have given him an interview, much less actually hired him. This is a colossal clusterfuck that's directly the responsibility of a man fraudulently passing himself off as an NFL head coach.
