Can we secure our first winning streak of the season?
-
Let’s go doggie
-
Rumbling, bumbling, stumbling
-
Patton is lightning quick with the flag
-
Towel Login gonna win.
-
Let's go Jets, and if we lose, I'll tell myself it's for the best long-term.
-
Seriously? On the first play?
-
Who did Boger freak in the derriere to get assigned this pos game?
-
Bowles would have called a timeout to challenge it
-
ANNOUNCER: "Jets challenge..."
LOGGAINS: "And I helped!"

Bowles would have called a timeout to challenge it
Gase just eye fucked Loggains instead.

SAMGOD
-
Seriously? On the first play?
Turns out it was key to the whole drove. Offensive genius!
-
Best opening drive team in the NFL!
Oh yeah, our kicking game sucks.
Ficken is here for the #tank, just like Myers was.
-
Who
John Smith, 5th string tight end
-
ANNOUNCER: "Jets challenge..."
LOGGAINS: "And I helped!"
perfect
-
that could have been you, hurtdon
-
Great job by Brown on the scramble drill.
-
it feels like every time gase elects to run bell, it's out of a draw play
-
If we need to pick out postitives out of this regime, when was the last time this team scored on 4 opening drives?
-
So are the Skins actually that bad? Because our offense looked totally unbothered by the D
-
If we need to pick out postitives out of this regime, when was the last time this team scored on 4 opening drives?
Doesn't matter if you score on the opening drive when we rarely score otherwise. But definitely has been a while
-
If we need to pick out postitives out of this regime, when was the last time this team scored on 4 opening drives?
Schotty had a streak like that once I think.
-
it feels like every time gase elects to run bell, it's out of a draw play
JACKASS I'LL KILL YOU (and everyone else that calls that a draw)
It's not a draw, it's an inside zone. Bell just sits back there and tries to find the hole. It's his running style and it can be extremely frustrating. Worked awesomely on the check down where he made a few guys miss.
-
So are the Skins actually that bad? Because our offense looked totally unbothered by the D
Gase has been very good playing off of a script. Darnold too.
The audible to the bootright was all Sam though. That's a great read and it was a big play to Crowder.
Great opening drive.
-
So are the Skins actually that bad? Because our offense looked totally unbothered by the D
The offense always looks good early. The question is keeping it up.
Most of our drives have been good if there haven't been penalties or sacks. We are inept when we have setbacks on our drives, but when we stay on schedule, we've been very good the last few weeks.
-
Schotty had a streak like that once I think.
With Chad or Favre?
-
Is it 2007?
-
Blessuan starting
#BLESSED
-
Basham doesn't suck
-
How did we not block that?
-
Did Basham actually get a hand on it or was he just celebrating the drop?
-
If you dislike offensive genius Adam Gase, the Skins haven't scored a touchdown in 35(!) days
-
Good start I hope we freak Haskins loose boy queynte into oblivion
-
If you dislike offensive genius Adam Gase, the Skins haven't scored a touchdown in 35(!) days
And their interim HC was the best Jets OL coach in this century
-
I like Ryan Griffin. He was a good signing.
Reliable, consistent and should be re-signed.
-
Gase has been very good playing off of a script. Darnold too.
The audible to the bootright was all Sam though. That's a great read and it was a big play to Crowder.
Great opening drive.
What's the reason that the Jets have been very efficient on the opening drive yet usually suck after? Obviously I get that the first drive is scripted. But does this mean players have no freaking idea what they're doing after that? Opposing coaches making adjustments and Gase not?
I feel like it has to be mostly the former, as we've seen so much confusion on offense
-
Can we script the entire game on offense? Or just repeat the same script over and over.
-
it feels like every time gase elects to run bell, it's out of a draw play
"Hi, I'm Paul Hackett and this is the 2001-2004 offense."
-
Jets must be confident in their defense.
-
Running on 3rd-and-11?
-
But does this mean players have no freaking idea what they're doing after that? Opposing coaches making adjustments and Gase not?
Penalties and swiss cheese offensive line kill a lot of our drives. We also rarely establish the run, so there's little opportunity for play action.
The lack of consistent OL play hurts us more than anything, but adjustments have been definitely been a factor.
-

What’s your record for consecutive questions?

What’s your record for consecutive questions?
What's your name? Who's your daddy? Is he rich like the Johnsons?

I think the offense has looked good the last few weeks. When the Jets don't have sacks/penalties, they move the ball well. But every time we get off schedule, we can't recover.
I think when our OL is as shitty as it is, it will be hard to sustain consistent success.
It doesn't help that we just give up on 3rd and long half the time.
-
Running on 3rd-and-11?
If we can't block them, then I'm OK being conservative against an inept offense like Washington.
Play the field position game and hope that Haskins either makes a mistake or can't move the ball...giving it right back to us.
You gotta protect Sam at all costs.
-
What’s your record for consecutive questions?
But we score on the first drive and then we stutter out. Any idea why? Do you think it's because the first drive is scripted?

I feel like we're going to play this game like Cleveland played against us. Just don't freak up, and win the game.
-
Do you think it's because the first drive is scripted?
It's 100% scripted. I bet Gase scripts the first 20 plays or more.
They are going off of what they've seen on film. Washington is going to show mostly the same looks against certain formations.

That's the way to beat Washington.
Stop the run and force Haskins to make something out of nothing.

Can't disagree so far

What if he's actually good?
He just made two really good tackles
-
Adams is a complete badass
-
Forcing them to punt from their own endzone is a calculated gamble that Gase won.
Hell of a punt by Washington, but we got it back basically where we had it at the end of our last possession.
If Haskins keeps floating it to the flat like that, someone is going to house one of his passes.
-
I think it's a reflex for corners to pose or celebrate anytime they make any play. They can't control it.
-
Adams is a complete badass
non impact position tho
-
I think I hate Ficken more than Edwards
-
Washington has a good punter at least.
-
What if he's actually good?
He just made two really good tackles
Then my # posts become sincere
-
Bless was real strong on that series.
-
I'm going to start a gofundme to sign Adams before next week to a 50 year contract.
-
I think I hate Ficken more than Edwards
I understand that you hate punters more than anyone in the history of this game, but Lachlan Edwards is good.
-
It would be so helpful if Austin were a guy we could count on as a top-3 cornerback next year. With his injury history, he needs to prove he can stay healthy, but everything we do this offseason should begin with the offensive line and the cornerbacks. Outside of Darnold, Edoga and Austin are two of our most important players down the stretch.
-
I understand that you hate punters more than anyone in the history of this game, but Lachlan Edwards is good.
Punters are a sign that the team has failed.
-
Big dick Sam
-
Chuma Edoga has his own name tattooed down the back of his arms and now I hate him.
-
Demaryius Thomas is a player I didn't think would help as much as he has. He's been a big crutch for Sam
-
Bless was real strong on that series.
Rutgers in the house.
Nice throw, Sam.
-
I understand that you hate punters more than anyone in the history of this game, but Lachlan Edwards is good.
To be fair I hate Gase much more than anyone
-
DT's growing on me.
-
Wow, a negative play on 1st down and we STILL moved the chains. Progress.
-
Bilal!
#KeepRex
-
Boom Boom Powell
-
Have all our "long" runs this season been by Bilal?
-
Did Powell just come off a time machine?
-
Powell juked himself.
-
nice change of pace style with Powell
-
E-chode-a
-
Demaryius Thomas is a player I didn't think would help as much as he has. He's been a big crutch for Sam
I made fun of giving the Patriots a draft pick for a WR we could have signed as a FA, but I thought DT could help.
-
How long until they give the RT help with Kerrigsn
-
For this brief, glorious moment in time, I don't currently hate the Jets. I expect all that to have changed by half time, but right now I'm almost happy.
-
I think I hate Ficken more than Edwards
is there some sarcasm in this post? i was hard on edwards his rookie year, but since then he's developed well. he's actually a pretty good punter lol
-
Trevon Wesco needs to be on the field more to help with Kerrigan.
-
Bilal has the most 15-yard rushes on the team with 2 now. Bell, Vyncynt, Darnold and Montgomery have 1 each. Not great that Bell doesn't have more than those other guys.
-
What if he's actually good?
He just made two really good tackles
i mentioned this in his thread last week. he certainly has some physical tools. let him start and prove his health the rest of the season, and let's see what we got. i'll be rooting for him even with the goofy name and all
-

Give it 90 seconds

Could be teams are less concerned about the run when Bell is off the field
But it's highly concerning that Bilal has looked better than Bell in his highly limited touches
-
Not great to throw the ball at the defender's face on 3rd down.
-
As good as Bilal was on that drive, Bell needs to be out there in the red zone.
-
Congrats LJF
-
ROUGHING THE KICKER
LET'S GO
-
This can only end well with this team, taking points off the board.
-
1st down lol
-
Is Bell hurt?
-
Robby's patented touchdown celebration.
-
This can only end well with this team, taking points off the board.
Have faith in da sun god
-
Is Bell hurt?
Wasn't he questionable for this game?
He's been hurt
-
Robbie is elite at td celebrations
-
lmao at that WSH fan snatching the ball from the kid
-
If nothing else I hit Jets over 7.5 points. A win would be a bonus
-
Great play design, great route, and great throw
-
The whole "seeing ghosts" thing seems to have been put to bed. Sam's seeing the pressure, getting out of the pocket and using space really well.
-
Congrats LJF
Confirmed over 7.5 now
-
Is Bell hurt?
Gotta be.
-
If nothing else I hit Jets over 7.5 points. A win would be a bonus
I have
- Jets +2
- Jets -3.5
- Jets -7.5
- Redskins team total under 17.5
Was pretty confident this morning.
-
The whole "seeing ghosts" thing seems to have been put to bed. Sam's seeing the pressure, getting out of the pocket and using space really well.
Washington is one of the worst teams in the NFL, but mostly because of their offense.
They are not awful against the pass. I think they are ranked in the top half of the league there.
-
I've posted this a few weeks in a row, but man, it would be nice if this were the game everything clicked for Darnold and the offense and we just blew a team out.
It still amazes me how every beat writer just raved about our offense in camp, and the offense just ended up being this shitty for so long. Now, I don't necessarily care what beat writers think, but in all my years as a Jets fan, that has NEVER happened, so it was noteworthy.
-
Trying not to get too excited, we are beating a bad team with an interim coach.
-

I mean Kerrigan might triple his sack total on the season today. The OL is doing nothing to him and he's not having a good season by his standards
-
Jesus
-
Haha. Idiot Redskins.
-

I know he can't completely insulate himself from that stuff, but it's probably a good thing he doesn't have Twitter.
-
lmao
Penn's cheap derriere
-
Henry Anderson died for our sins
-
Refs da real MVP today
-
We need to go after Scherff in the offseason
-
As someone who watched a team seemingly not score for a month, I feel the Redskins' pain there.
-
lmao
Penn's cheap derriere
He honestly looked like he was going to fight the zebra.
-
LETS GO HANK

Can we get astop on 3rd down
-
I have

Nice. Good Luck dude
-
As bad as this skins offense is, I'm still envious of their OL, which is missing its best player
-
Luvu is a killer
-
Holy excrement, does Washington draft another QB in April?
-
I still don't like Gregg Williams, but the standard of the tackling by pretty much the entire defense is better this season than it has been for years.
-
Boyer took the handcuffs off Berrios today
He's picking up some nice yards today
-
Frankie Luvu??
-
Holy excrement, does Washington draft another QB in April?
No. Haskins will be good, I'm sure of it.
-
Luvu is a killer
FRANKIE MURDER
-
Trying not to get too excited, we are beating a bad team with an interim coach.
You blew it! You could have showed your son how great the Jets are.
-
I still don't like Gregg Williams, but the standard of the tackling by pretty much the entire defense is better this season than it has been for years.
Williams has been masterful with his fronts this season, and we've had some horrible injury luck.
He deserves a ton of credit for the product he's putting out there.
Chicken excrement into chicken salad
-

I agree. I just don't like him because he's a queynte.
-
Holy excrement, does Washington draft another QB in April?
Considering that Haskins was basically forced on Gruden against his will, I think there's 0 chance they give up on him
But yikes, it's crazy to think everyone criticized the giants for taking Daniel Jones over him
-
I agree. I just don't like him because he's a queynte.
That's the reason I like him most
-

Haskins and Jones were both good prospects. Haskins needs some help, and probably had no business playing this season.
A completely dysfunctional situation didn't help him at all.
-
What a stupid fuckin throw.
-
Come on Sam.
-
FFS. He has to stop doing this.
-
The whole "seeing ghosts" thing seems to have been put to bed. Sam's seeing the pressure, getting out of the pocket and using space really well.
Well it was fun while it lasted...
-
Terrible decision.
-
That's on Sam and no one else. Just throw it away.
-
Saaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaam
whyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy
-
Even if you punt they’re getting the ball deep in their own territory and our defense has been dominant. What the freak.
-
What the excrement was that Sam.
-
Darnolds decision making is insanely fucked
I'm not sure how hopeful I am of that ever completely going away
-
Haskins is scurt
-
Well it was fun while it lasted...
He wasn't feeling fake pressure, it was genuinely there. He just did the wrong thing about it.
-
NATHAN SHEPHERD GOAT
-
Mike Maccagnan, elite GM?
-
SHEPHERD
-
Darnold just gave Washington 3 points. Lucky it wasn't 6.
-
Mike Maccagnan, elite GM?
Nathan Sheperd, elite roidhead?
-
He wasn't feeling fake pressure, it was genuinely there. He just did the wrong thing about it.
Fake pressure or not, he seems to panic when he senses it and then the results are Sanchezesque.
-
Darnold was throwing to Montgomery on a screen. Montgomery thought it was going to someone behind him. He jumped up, then just let the ball go over his head.
Maybe an explanation
-
Watching this game I keep thinking of that old Fortunes song " You've got your troubles I've got mine"
when were the Redskins last relevant?
-
I'm still combing through Schotty-era games to try and find the last opening drive TD streak. Just started 2008.
-
Darnolds decision making is insanely fucked
I'm not sure how hopeful I am of that ever completely going away
He made a lot of mistakes in college. I think he's always going to have some plays where you wonder what the hell he was doing. The key is him making sure they happen as rarely as possible.
There was a reason people compared him to Romo/Favre, for the good and the bad.
-
He was down.
-
Fake pressure or not, he seems to panic when he senses it and then the results are Sanchezesque.
I don't think it's panic so much as him thinking he can turn any situation into a positive play regardless of the odds and angles. He has to learn ball discipline (insert mono joke here).
-
I'm wrong that's a fumble
-
He was down.
He was not.
-
Lol this team sucks.
-
The tank is back on
-
I'm still combing through Schotty-era games to try and find the last opening drive TD streak. Just started 2008.
4 games is our longest since at least 2001. You can stop looking unless you want to look pre-2001.
-
Not sure how that isn’t a block in the back on the corner
-
Redskins tank is better than ours.
-
Austin needs to watch it with the taunting.
-
Thank god we’re playing such a shitty team.
-
Austin showing up again
-
Is that Jets legend Kevin O'Connell?
-
Hit him right in the fuckin chest.
-
4 games is our longest since at least 2001. You can stop looking unless you want to look pre-2001.

He's the offensive coordinator

Smith should be on the bench for the rest of the half after that fumbled kickoff.
Out there dropping perfect passes...slouch

PS. Just found a 3 week streak at the peak of 2008, ended with that awful Denver game

But why?
-
He's the offensive coordinator
I see he learned a lot from his time with Brian Schottenheimer

Our offensive line is so bad. They are drive killers each and every week.
More of an issue than Adam Gase.

Josh Norman freaking sucks now

Edoga just got wrecked

what kind of game offensive calling is this excrement?
-

We really need to upgrade it. Can't imagine how much better Lev would look with an OL that was even average
-
what kind of game offensive calling is this excrement?
Let's just throw it deep every play. That usually works out well.
We can't pass protect for excrement and when we do, someone is flagged for holding.
Washington is so bad offensively that we absolutely do not have to be aggressive. The complaints about us running on third and long today are ridiculous.

Is there anyone worth keeping, or are we looking at possible 5 new starters? Beachum, Smith, Edoga?
-
Is there anyone worth keeping, or are we looking at possible 5 new starters? Beachum, Smith, Edoga?
Probably Harrison and Lewis as backups.
-
Two Minute Warning rant
Dumb freak TOJ clowns complaining about Quinnen Williams lack of stats AGAIN, when he's been extremely impactful today against the run and as an interior pass rusher.
Stats don't tell the whole story.
-
Is there anyone worth keeping, or are we looking at possible 5 new starters? Beachum, Smith, Edoga?
Edoga is not terrible in pass protection. Everyone else is trash, but Harrison, Compton, and Lewis can at least provide some depth.
-
Is there anyone worth keeping, or are we looking at possible 5 new starters? Beachum, Smith, Edoga?
I think Beachum is OK, and if he can stay healthy I wouldn't be completely upset if Winters was back. Edoga might improve but right now he's trash; Harrison and Lewis have no starting value.
-
Step on their throats.
-
Sam Darnold loves tight ends
/Fag
-
Ryan Griffin, you can’t cover him
-
what kind of game offensive calling is this excrement?
3 TD for Sam in the 1st half
-
Love that from Griffin. He knows he's going to get caught, and instead of using his size and strength to try and make a glory play by stiff arming the tackler he puts both hands on the ball and makes sure he finishes the play off. Got the reward he deserved on the next snap.
-
No way ficken hits this pat now.
-
Ryan Griffin, you can’t cover him
-
That was a beautiful two-minute drill
-
We are only capable of beating NFC East teams.
-
I wouldn't be completely upset if Winters was back.
freak YOU
No way he's worth $7M next season
Our OL is better off without him
-
It's unfortunate that we couldn't have beaten Jacksonville or Buffalo to get to 2-6 entering this stretch. Would be nice to get to 4-6 after this game and have a glimmer of hope.
Once again, when we don't have stupid penalties, sacks or turnovers, the offense looks great. Cut out the mistakes.
-
We would probably be .500 if we had Dortch instead of Berrios
-
We're going to have to live and die with Sam Darnold making things happen.
The play to Crowder and then again to Griffin against the busted coverage were things you can't coach.
Our TEs have clearly been taught to break off their routes and head up field if Darnold gets outside the pocket.
-
We would probably be .500 if we had Dortch instead of Berrios
9-0 with Dortch
-
freak YOU
No way he's worth $7M next season

Of course I'd rather replace him, but practically speaking it may not be possible. There are worse players than him. Tackle, center and the other guard are all more pressing needs.
-
Prez, so hot right now
-
Of course I'd rather replace him, but practically speaking it may not be possible. There are worse players than him. Tackle, center and the other guard are all more pressing needs.
Winters was our worst offensive lineman in 2019. He was worse than Ryan Kalil.
We could replace him with an undrafted free agent and I'd be OK with it.

Jamal Adams is the best thing ever.

I don't hate Winters as much as most, but he's too injured to trust anymore either way.

I'm still not convinced that Shell's future doesn't lie inside. He's got the size and if he's playing at G he doesn't have to worry about getting beat on the outside, which has been his biggest failing.

Shell is a free agent in the offseason. Not sure Joe Douglas will spend any money on OL he hasn't handpicked.
-
You can release Brian Winters and save $7M in 2020 then use that cap space on a different starter at any position on the OL or quality depth anywhere on the roster.
He needs to go.
-
Adams is going to get a sack/fumble on Haskins this half. Mark it down.

Cut him and sign him back at the league minimum.

Kevin O'Connell looks 12 years old.

Bless Austin-Wilson

OK, Austin is a baller confirmed.

Geez.

I was told Jamal Adams isn’t an impact player
-
I was told Jamal Adams isn’t an impact player
Can he kick field goals?

Jets just took out the Redskins best offensive player.
-
I didn't realize lower level tickets to this game were running at $16. Bo should have gone.

We're gonna need that space to absorb the cap hit from trading Adams. /dcm mode
-
I was livid with the roughing the kicker call. Was I the only one? You're getting the ball back...just don't touch the kicker.
-
I didn't realize lower level tickets to this game were running at $16. Bo should have gone.
Too windy, my son would have whined the whole time.
-
Washington aren't even trying on D, they must really hate their co-ordinator because they're doing their best to get him fired.
-
Sure, get creative when were up by a lot.
-
Bilal Tebow

Ok come on. That’s a excrement punt
-
Ok come on. That’s a excrement punt
Man, you really hate punters.
-
You can make a case for going for it on 4th down (especially since the punt only gained 25 yards net), but I'm fine being conservative against an inept offense like Washington's.
-

I like it when we give them the ball back because it means we get to watch Haskins trying to figure out where Adams is coming from next.
-
Hope Haskins is OK, can't have a backup come in and abuse the Jets.
-
Wow, terrible job blowing the whistle by the refs.
-
Burgess was a bit lucky to not get flagged there given the way games are currently officiated.
-
Ok come on. That’s a excrement punt
That's his first punt touchback of the season. He's having an incredible year.
-
Wow, terrible job blowing the whistle by the refs.
An obvious fumble blown dead by the soft derriere officiating that Roger Goodell wants
-
Run the football there
-
That was weird playcalling.
-
That was weird playcalling.
Gase has been trying to set up a shot play all game.
The play-action on third and one pissed me off, but when we went for it on 4th down, it made a lot more sense.

Then again, why are we going for it on 4th from the 50 when the D is playing lights out?

Because if we don't get it, we're giving the football back to a team that absolutely cannot move the football...
-
Ryan Griffin is dominating
-
That's a excrement call for the pick. Thomas was running his route.
-
If this doesn't get overturned, there's no point to the challenge rule.
-

Dowell Goddgains challenges

How does running your route and getting blown up offensive PI
-
Because if we don't get it, we're giving the football back to a team that absolutely cannot move the football...
So just punt it away and play field position. No reason to give any chance for Washington to get back into this game.
-
Towel Logjam just trying for screen time now.
-
Going for it on 4th and 1 at the 50 is mandatory.
Challenging any pass interference call is stupid. I wonder how much NFL coaches are just in their own bubbles, and ignoring any stats around the league about how impossible it is to get a PI call overturned.
-
Why are we challenging pass interference.
-
How does running your route and getting blown up offensive PI
lol. this better get overturned. thomas was complaining about it to the ref and even the ref was laughing in an 'okay, i fvcked up' kind of way
-
Why are we challenging pass interference.
Timeouts are for pussies.
-
So just punt it away and play field position. No reason to give any chance for Washington to get back into this game.
Or take a chance, convert, and run some clock.
Washington has shown zero life on offense.
-
Wow
-
Wow
WOW
Is that the first PI penalty that has been overturned all season?
-

Passing up good opportunities to score points is giving Washington a chance to get back into the game. You should be able to pick up 1 yard at least 70% of the time there, and if you do, you're one first down away from being in field goal range.
If there is a game to consider being overly conservative, it's this one, but I still think you need to go for it on 4th and 1 or 4th and 2.

11 TDs and 10 INTs on the season now
Let's freaking go
-
I've maintained all year that Gase's status depends on how confident we are with Darnold at the end of the year.
15-24, 253 yds, 4 TD, Int today. That's a positive. Let's keep it going the next few weeks.

Pull Sam now.
-
this is starting to feel like the lions game week 1 last year
That was way more fun, because a) we were 1-0 after it and b) we got to stomp on Stafford's stupid mongoloid face.
-
J - E - T - S - JETS - JETS - JETS
-
Imagine how much more fun this would be at 3-6 instead of 2-7.
-
I’m here to remind you what reality is
We have a franchise QB. That is reality.
Enjoy your poolside drinks.
-
I don't know who our backup QB is, but he or she needs to be playing now.

Sorry fellas
-
Ficken's nose damn near sticks out of his helmet. And he sucks.
for a kicker, he has such puny calves and thighs. not a good look
it feels like he has not exuded any confidence behind any kick all year. Vedvik should have gotten more opportunities than Fucken has.
