Never wanted that snake and his burner accounts.

Good for Brooklyn if it works out, but aside from DeAndre Jordan, they've just signed a bunch of Charmin soft baby back bitches.

None of this changes the fact that Dolan is arguably the worst owner in professional sports and the Knicks are a complete joke of a franchise.

So the Knicks wanted Kyrie and KD, traded their best player for cap space to sigh Kyrie and KD, and they chose to go to the Nets instead? Interesting.

Lmao no. The Warriors had the same issues, but had cheap deals cause their big 3 was young and home grown. when it became 4 it was a huge fa, and the Warriors had depth issues once the 1 fa came. It haunted them and cost em against Toronto.

How are the nets gonna field a team with 3 huge FA deals for older dudes, one coming off a major injury? Itll be something.

For the record Harden is not my preferred way forward, but I feel better about this hypothetical than I did after the Celtics trade. I don't think they'll go full Billy King here, Marks hasn't shown that kind of recklessness.

the reports have shown that it'll take a lot to get harden, and i agree that while it would seem out of character, you have to think that any nba decision-maker would go outside their usual comfort zone to make something like kd-kyrie-harden possible

i would love for it to happen. would be hilarious seeing all of the clueless knick fans out there try to reconcile this. the knicks do not exist right now LMFAOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

One day we hope the Jets will bring us this joy.

I was thinking 2021 would be the year. The Nets would be elite, and the Jets would have their can't-miss franchise QB and it would be a lot of fun to watch. It can still happen for the Jets, but it's much less certain now.

It's an out-of-body experience rooting for the Nets.

KD is my favorite basketball player. I like Caris Levert, Joe Harris, Jarrett Allen. Dimwiddie.

Kyrie is extremely fun to watch play but off the court he is one of the most annoying dudes in the league. In sports in general. In Boston he tried to act like it was the media and the fans blowing it out of proportion, but it’s clear where the common denominator is.

Once again you have no idea what you're talking about. I don't even post in the Nets thread, except today due to the trades.

Again, I don't care about any other team right now, none of them matter to a Knicks fan. It's a total reversal from the 80s and 90s when I developed a rabid hatred of every other team in the east. Twenty years later I see the whole league differently, same as the Jets and the NFL. We have a new coach and GM with a bunch of young players doing better than before and that's all we care about. That and Clyde's suits.

I knew LeVert and Allen had to go, but Allen is going to be a massive loss. Harden can replace everything LeVert can do. But Allen means we need more from DeAndre Jordan, and I have more faith in Nenad Krstic or Todd MacCulloch than DeAndre.

I enjoy how Kyrie talks to the media. He always seems honest and tells you what's on his mind, whenever he is willing to talk.

However, when he drops quotes like this, people destroy him for it, and rightfully so. I think the team is still bitter about Durant being out.

kyrie's not dumb, and i appreciate his efforts in at the very least trying to increase his knowledge however he can, trying to appear intelligent to others, and trying to say/share profound statements, but sometimes he says things that do not make sense. he's not dumb but he's one of those people who cannot quite express himself the way he wants to or would like to, and then he gets a lot of flack for the things he says

i've been a critic of his but i love his game and am a big fan. his latest sneakers look dope as fvck and are fun to play in. at first i thought it was weird/classic that he went AWOL, but then you heard the rumors that it was due to mental health reasons and then you had multiple famous talking heads basically telling him to shuttup/stop and that he just needs to man up and play. that was fvcked up and if he truly is dealing with mental demons then we have to cut him some more slack

Good morning, Monday morning

Went to game 1 on Saturday, my first ever playoff game in any sport (Jets haven't hosted since 2002 season and Yankees tickets are usually crazy). Got in early on the sale so tickets were still reasonable. Brought my dad with me, it was his first Nets game since 1976, he was at the game where they won their last ABA championship.(https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20210524/fb22247345f19d077cb6f69e9e580cbd.jpg)

that was a totally freaking dirty play by giannis

there's 'crashing the boards', and then there's totally being nowhere near kyrie when he went up for that layup, deciding to occupy his landing area, and using your arm to leverage yourself against an airborne kyrie as closely as you can. there was only one thing that could happen in that situation, kyrie is going to freaking land on you, and the worst possible outcome came of it

he's trying to ruin the playoffs by forcing us to watch his excrement brand of basketball. nobody freaking wants to see him bull rush the hoop every freaking time and take 30 seconds to clank literally free, open shots from 15 feet away. he's always been a punk

“Given the evolving nature of the situation and after thorough deliberation, we have decided Kyrie Irving will not play or practice with the team until he is eligible to be a full participant.  Kyrie has made a personal choice, and we respect his individual right to choose. Currently the choice restricts his ability to be a full-time member of the team, and we will not permit any member of our team to participate with part-time availability.  It is imperative that we continue to build chemistry as a team and remain true to our long-established values of togetherness and sacrifice. Our championship goals for the season have not changed, and to achieve these goals each member of our organization must pull in the same direction. We are excited for the start of the season and look forward to a successful campaign that will make the borough of Brooklyn proud.”

I know what people are going to say re: drama on any Udoka hiring, but if they feel like he's the guy...I mean idk. We still don't know the details as to the consensual nature of the relationship that got him suspended.

It's definitely not a good look to add Udoka, given the Kyrie drama and his own drama. But Udoka was here before he went to Boston, so I'm sure the players and ownership might like him. Team is hard to root for already.

Yeah, the league has to step in and suspend this guy. The Nets clearly aren’t going to do excrement, did they think this was going to go well today?

So he's a BHI guy

I’ve seen so many posts today with comment sections like this

This is why allowing Kyrie to spread this rhetoric unchecked is so dangerous. There’s so many impressionable idiots out there that worship what idiot celebrities have to say. If Kyrie actually made an effort to educate himself and what specifically hes said is wrong, it could help prevent a lot of these opinions from spreading. He’s not even a little interested in that. Any other professional athlete using their platform to spread hate speech would, and should be indefinitely suspended.

If all Kyrie has to do is apologize, he’ll probably never play a game for the Nets again.

Here's my stance on this: If someone wilfully chooses to be ignorant, I just don't care, let them.... it's a free country.
As Lincoln said, it's one thing to be thought a fool don't open your mouth and prove it.

Kanye and Kyrie aren’t being charged with crimes. They have their rights to free speech and their employers have their rights to make decisions whether or not to do business with them based on their speech.

Also, both of these guys proved they were idiots a long time ago, several times over. This is different

What were the top 2?
1. The Phoenix Suns dropped 107 points in the first half vs. the Denver Nuggets, Nov., 1990.  Final score: Suns 173; Nuggets 143

2. The 2018 Warriors dropped 92, also against the Denver Nuggets.

The end of the game had the Cavs (decent defensive team) getting within 5/7/5 points....then the Nets (btw sporting some very cool 'BKLYN NETS' jerseys put it away).  Heard some Nets naysayers say that Bklyn is money late in the regular deism but a playoff "swept team" possibility....fwiw....     I think they're the one team (vrazy as this sounds) of getting to the NBA Eastern Finals.    This dickbag team with their 'issues' are capabl...................

Title: Re: Brooklyn Nets
Post by: delavan on February 04, 2023, 07:16:23 AM
Kyrie wants a trade because if his is traded, under the “Bird rule,” his new team could sign him to a max deal of over $40M per year irrespective of cap space. If he isn’t traded and becomes a free agent, his new team has to fit him in an under their cap space and hardly any team could pay him even near a max contract. So his request makes economic sense for him but what team would take on that train wreck of a douche..

I love Mikal. I also kind of like how they don't control their own picks, so they have incentive to win. But they have enough of other teams' picks where they still may have a future. And they have other guys they can trade.

Let's see what else happens. It sucks the team is broken up. I hate that KD is gone. But it was either go all in and trade guys like Cam Thomas and picks for vets to help KD, or you just trade KD. They chose the latter.
