There was some stuff late in the fall last year about him wanting to own an NFL team eventually and how the other owners supported him.
Everything seems to be aligning for him to get a hold of the Washington franchise.

In 2018, Michael was caught on a “hot mic” speaking about the attractiveness of a college-aged intern, according to six former employees who heard the recording. Michael declined an interview request and retired Wednesday.

Santos, the club’s director of pro personnel, was accused by six former employees and two reporters who covered the team of making inappropriate remarks about their bodies and asking them if they were romantically interested in him. In 2019, Santos was the subject of an internal investigation after Rhiannon Walker, a reporter for The Athletic, informed club management Santos had pinched her, told her she had “an derriere like a wagon,” and repeatedly asked her to date him, Walker said in an interview with The Post. Nora Princiotti, a reporter for The Ringer who formerly covered the team, also said in an interview that she was harassed by Santos. Santos, who was fired this past week, declined to comment.
Richard Mann II, assistant director of pro personnel, who in one text message obtained by the The Post told a female employee he and his colleagues debated whether her breasts had been surgically enhanced and in another text message told another female employee to expect an “inappropriate hug … And don’t worry that will be a stapler in my pocket, nothing else.” Mann, who also was fired last week, declined to comment.
Dennis Greene, former president of business operations, implored female sales staff to wear low-cut blouses, tight skirts and flirt with wealthy suite holders, according to five former employees, including Applegate. Greene’s 17-year career with the club ended in 2018 amid a scandal over the revelation he had sold access to Redskins cheerleaders — including attendance at a bikini calendar photo shoot in Costa Rica — as part of premium suite packages. Greene declined to comment.
Mitch Gershman, former chief operating officer, who Applegate said routinely berated her for trivial problems such as printer malfunctions while also complimenting her body. The strip club stuff wouldn't be a big deal if it weren't a pandemic and you weren't the leader of the team. But it is a pandemic, and you are the QB, so it's an awful, awful look. Then he compounds it by his media nonsense this week.
He's too immature to be an NFL starting quarterback, and his skill level isn't nearly high enough to make up for that.

Looking at 2018 Haskins vs 2019-20 Fields (so giving Haskins the benefit of the doubt by only using his elite season).
Haskins had his numbers padded on short passes. 24.2% of his pass attempts were at or behind the LOS compared to Fields. If you weight completion percentage for air yards (adjusted completion percentage), Fields is at 77.8% compared to Haskins at 73.1%.
Fields converts 1st downs on 52% of the time on 3rd down compared to 45% for Haskins.
Haskins also had a better supporting cast. McLaurin and Campbell were both Day 2 picks, and Austin Mack is playing in the NFL, too. Olave is a pro. Garrett Wilson might be, too. Fields has also been pressured more often, so the OL might not be as good.
Fields also had a better Total QBR and a better passer rating than Haskins did.
Fields also has more career touchdown passes and fewer interceptions on fewer pass attempts. And he averages more yards per attempt. Haskins' only edge is in completion percentage (70% to 69%), and that's padded by his short passes as I mentioned earlier.

Probably this legal battle will get messier before it's resolved.

Washington head coach Ron Rivera is "perplexed, truly frustrated, beyond frustrated" with his team's vaccination rate.
The subject hits particularly close to home for Rivera, whose cancer treatments have left him immune deficient. Rivera was declared cancer-free in January but his immune deficiency puts him at a far higher risk to suffer severe symptoms from COVID-19. On top of that, it's been reported that numerous teams are above 85 percent vaccination rate for players while Rivera's team was below half at the start of June. Under the circumstances, perplexed feels like an understatement. Hopefully Washington's number of vaccinated players to jump significantly after Rivera's condemnation.

He's literally gaslighting in his statement by trying to portray the entire summer of protests as peaceful and civic minded. When we know that's not the case. He made absolutely no differentiation, despite the untold millions of damage and a demonstrated body count.
As a reminder, that same summer Kenosha went up in flames because ::checks notes:: a serial abuser repeatedly fought with cops, was given the opportunity multiple times to stand down and went for a knife. That's the level of absurdity we reached.
