I feel this is going to be a low-scoring slog. Protect the football, prevent Trubisky from killing us by scrambling, and we have a chance.
It's amazing how much the absence of one player (Mack) can change your outlook on the game. It's still a tough spot for Darnold on the road in bad weather against a good defense, but without Mack, their defense is above average, not elite.

Bates has really gone away from the Air Raid concepts since the Jacksonville game.
We very rarely use screens anymore and he's clearly focusing more on throws inside the hashes. I like how he used our tight ends last week. They are non-existent today so far.

I wouldn't be surprised, but Trubisky isn't that good. We need to make them have long drives and convert in the red zone. I'm not sure if they can do that consistently. If we allow them to have more big plays, we'll get killed.

The few Bears games I've seen, he's been a one-read quarterback who looks good early in games when all the plays are scripted, and isn't nearly as good later. And his accuracy today has been atrocious. Part of that is probably due to the wind, but his placement has been off all game. He's athletic and he's young where I'm certainly not giving up on him, but I just haven't been that impressed.

Herndon makes plays week after week. I don't know why we haven't used him as much between the 20's. I wouldn't mind getting him the ball on a receiver screen. I remember him getting a lot of passes like that at Miami. But he's having one of the most impressive rookie seasons we've seen from a Darnold draft pick.
