Middleton went full Cromartie on that 29 yard screen pass. Completely chickened out of the tackle.

The pick doesn't make up for that excrement.

Robby Anderson is going to have a drop-off yardwise this year with Darnold at QB.  I don't think he's going to have the deep game he had with McCown.

They're not going to open up the playbook for him in the preseason, especially not with a rookie QB behind a sketchy line against a very good defensive front. I don't think we can draw the conclusion that Darnold won't get deep looks.

+1

O-line is pitiful.

Darnold has looked hesitant on his throws, double-clutching on most of his passes.  He's being cautious with the ball, which is good.  The pick wasn't pretty but I don't think he had a lot of options.

O-line is pitiful.

the playcall/play design on the darnold pick kinda sucked. he didn't have any viable options on that play. maybe in the future he throws the ball away but either way, redskins were ending up with the ball

Excited about everything we see from Darnold, but Bridgewater seems like the best QB on this team right now. Even though weve seen nothing from McCown

Id be pretty disappointed if we see McCown play at all this year, unless its because we traded Bridgewater for a solid value

I think we can mostly all agree that the best thing for the Jets would be to find a trade partner for Bridgewater.  Hopefully the right team has an injury this week or next.

If nothing much happens on that front, I don't know what they could get for him as the season goes on.  Hed have to pick up another team's playbook quickly.  That would be easier in the preseason.

Todd Bowles just said he isn't adding a 4th QB.  A reporter asked him if that was a possibility and he asked the reporter why he would do that.  Reporter said that some teams do it to rest the starters.  He said if he wanted to do that he'd just hand off the ball.

About what I'd expect from a guy who got played his starting quarterback in the 4th preseason game last year.

I doubt it'll matter much.  In the end I don't care too much as long as no one gets hurt.

I'd prefer a 4th QB but he's right about just handing it off.

Who knows, by that time Teddy might be on another team and we sign a 3rd QB.
