Ambassadorships are usually given as a "thank you" for support, etc. They're mostly ceremonial, but can help during trade negotiations etc, which will happen in 2 years when GB is fully out of the EU.

All kidding aside, I don't see this making any impact on the Jets either way. I doubt Chris rocks the boat that much. Maybe Woody gets better during his time away from the team with some perspective, but odds are he won't. And quite frankly, if we had the right GM/coach/QB combination, nobody would care about Woody.

That's the way I interpreted it. Not sure where we would be playing though. As much as I think the stadium sucks, it's brand new and brings in more money than any other stadium would. Especially when you factor in the geographic location.

Maybe Ambassador Woody can try again to build his own stadium on the lower west side of Manhattan while we bid for the Olympics again. Hell, he'll be dead by then.

This almost certainly won't matter to the team, but it would be pretty cool if it opened a door to Curtis Martin eventually fulfilling his dream of being an owner. He would be at the top of the list for most beloved owners in sports if he owned the Jets.

It seems pretty clear that they did things the wrong way round. Chris seems like a very decent chap who'd probably have been a good diplomat, or at least not one that was abusive to his staff, and Woody wouldn't have hired Adam Gase.

it'd be nice if he could come into games and come into the season prepared. he was told to learn the playbook and learn the route tree and he was literally paid for 18+ weeks to do nothing but that with his time, and he couldn't do it
all this smoke about him looking amazing is totally a last ditch attempt at trying to reclaim some of his trade value. never forget dj montgomery was getting burn over him at the end of the season

Same. I was in the "cornerback is less important than offensive line, and we have wanted an edge rusher forever, why would you pass up Thibodeaux?"
There was no Jets smoke around Thibodeaux, so I assumed he wasn't happening, but I was all on team Ekwonu because of the positional value.
Positionally, I was right - we needed an OL badly, and we still need an OL badly. But given how Ekwonu has been mediocre and Sauce has been a superstar, I was obviously wrong.

Sauce has been so freaking good and I think the trickle down effect he has on the other CBs and pass rushers is a bit underrated.
After a decent rookie year with 4 sacks, Kayvon has 11.5 this year- 12th in the NFL. He could be the real deal too.

Going into the 2022 draft our OL was set to be Becton-Tomlinson-McGovern-AVT-Fant and only in hindsight can they be seen as the disaster they turned out to be. 3 solid vets and two young up-and-comers doesn't scream "use your most valuable resource to upgrade one of us immediately". Then three of them missed like 40 games combined and the other two were mediocre surrounded by JAGs.

If we can't unload any of Zach's salary or get anything for him, they will cut him. Hopefully we draft someone to be QB3. This is just talk to get someone to bite. I can't imagine ZW as QB3. Why even bother as QB4 on PS? You just know if he's somewhere in this team, he will find his way to the field starting somehow. At this point, his roster spot is worth more than he is.
