I think I'm going to be out this year unless you guys want to work the draft around my night shift schedule. I never have Friday nights free and the only Saturday in August I could do is the 20th. Sunday Monday and Tuesday I can do each week. If I can't make the draft get someone else who can.

To get things rolling, it would be good if people started announcing their (tentative) keepers so that we have that information well ahead of the deadline (likely in two weeks).

Mine are:

Alshon Jeffery (6th)
Marcus Mariota (12th/franchise)
Kelvin Benjamin (15th)

JFIF:

Eddie Lacy (3rd/franchise)
Odell Beckham Jr. (10th)
Jarvis Landry (15th)

I'll add others to this post.

We're going to set the deadline to announce keepers for midnight Friday, August 26. That means you will only be allowed to swap your keepers in the case of injury between 12am Saturday and the draft.

Please announce your keepers as soon as possible. If you're unsure of your players' values, use the draft results from last year as a reference. If you're still not sure, post the players you're considering keeping and we'll figure it out.

I picked Edelman off the waiver wire and stashed him on the IR....what i can't remember is how long he was on the waiver wire for. I know this affects which round i can keep him at (he was drafted as a 2nd).  AR, can you verify?

EDIT:  Edelman verified as a 4th round keeper.

Much easier keeper decisions for me this year as compared to last year... Still might swap in Forsett or Gronk, but unlikely.

Allen Robinson (Rd 4)
David Johnson (Rd 9, Franchise)
Tyler Lockett (Rd 16)

Edited Lockett to the 16th round as per Andrew Ryan

Julian Edelman (3rd or 4th??, 1st keeper year)

I believe he would be a 4th round pick because he was dropped on Wednesday, Nov. 25, passed through waivers the next day and passed through waivers again after that weekend's games before you picked him up before his game the following weekend on Sunday, Dec. 6. In short, he passed through waivers unclaimed twice so his keeper round escalated from a 2nd to a 4th.

I'm pretty sure that's accurate, but I'll confer with Iggy.

Yep.  Absolutely right.

Actually nevermind, I forgot I have Hurns as an FA. I'm not spending to keep 2 firsts.

Keepers as of now:
Antonio Brown @ Round 1
Doug Baldwin @ Round 8
Dion Lewis @ whatever round an FA gets slotted

I'd like to keep [Allen Hurns @ wherever round a 2nd FA gets slotted] too, so I'd be interested in trading either Aaron Rodgers or Antonio Brown @ Round 1 keeps (gives you a safe elite #1) for a #2 and a late pick.

Edit: If trades have to be done differently than that in order for me to gain a 4th keeper at the cost of someone else's 3rd, let me know.

You're only allowed to keep three players, so what you're proposing isn't feasible.

Well, there are ways through trades to end up with 4 keepers, just not 4 keepers from one's own team it turns out.

My bad with Baldwin, I looked at the Draft Results rather than the end-of-season roster and forgot that I canned him before he busted out. Oops

Revised keepers:
Antonio Brown @ Round 1 (Round 2 keeper last yr)
Deon Lewis (2015 FA pickup) - 2nd to last round?
Allen Hurns (2015 FA pickup) - last round?

Correct. Even if you have four keepers, you're still only keeping three of your own. You're just trading for the rights to someone else's.

Revised keepers:
Antonio Brown @ Round 1 (Round 2 keeper last yr)
Deon Lewis (2015 FA pickup) - 2nd to last round?
Allen Hurns (2015 FA pickup) - last round?

I've already updated your keepers, which you can see on the top of page 6.

For the record, any penalties incurred would go into the pot for distributing prize money at the end of the season.

It's just to ensure that IJR and I won't have to deal with any bullshit.

I offered to let someone else take over this season because it can be a pain.  Part of that has to do with collecting the dues each year.  $40 is not a lot of cash, and it shouldn't be that hard to find the 1 minute it takes to make a payment over the next 9 days.  If one minute of your time is a nuisance, the draft is going to be a rude awakening.

To be fair, didn't he not get his winnings last season until sometime in February? Not that the money mattered or was significant, but you do understand why this might come off a wee bit punitive and perhaps partly why Puck might take offense to it.

I always thought it was $5 weekly, not daily, and barely realized this rule existed until Andrew Ryan mentioned it.

It should come off as punitive... to those who don't pay their dues on time.

The reason why I made it daily and not a flat penalty of, say, $10 is to prevent people from deciding "hey, since my dues are already late I might as well wait until the last possible second to pay them."

This is only in place to incentivize people to pay their dues early so that IJR and I don't have to be concerned about whether or not people will pay their dues before the draft.

Maybe not the best example, considering Blockbuster's late fees were deemed predatory and excessive in a massive lawsuit back in the early 2000s.

Heads up that if you were planning on sending money from your bank through PayPal as opposed to directly from your wallet, it apparently takes over two weeks to arrive in the other person's wallet. It's kind of annoying since I'd like to be able to transfer everyone's dues to IJR before the draft but I'm not sure how long the identity verification process takes (for adding money to your wallet), so if you have to send the money from your bank just let me know.

For the future, I'm going to look into using venmo as an alternative. I've never used it before but I know one of my other leagues does.

It's a one keeper league, been around for awhile.   12 team PPR.

$175 buy in.    Bi weekly and highest point total bonuses in addition to the traditional 1st,2nd,3rd place payouts.

Draft is this Sunday

$500 second
$150 third

$150 season points winner. $50 Bi weekly bonus for highest point total across 2 weeks (6 total "bonuses". No Bonus on week 13)

We added the bonuses last year and it was a good way to keep people engaged throughout the season.

I think you're right.  If you set up paypal to draw from your bank account, you get the delay.  If you set paypal up to draw from your credit card, there are no delays.

Jesus you faggots don't have a cc linked to your bank account? The freak it's about fifty times easier and you get rewards on essentially cash transactions. Get on it dumbasses.

There is zero delay if you have a verified account regardless of the source.

If you have Paypal connected directly to your bank account you are a freaking idiot who doesn't like money. There are so many hacks on that shithouse system that it's not if your account gets emptied, it's when. If you do it with a credit card you have the power to recover the transaction and make it a fight between Paypal and Visa/Mastercard/Amex.

Pretty sure PayPal does not allow sending money as a gift (read: no fee) from a credit card. That option only exists using a bank account

Better to pay a couple of bucks in fees than expose your actual real money to Paypal. I got done for a couple of grand a few years ago and it took freaking months of fighting them to get my money back. It will require a lot more fast cars and space rockets for Musk to make up for the evil he created with that queynte of a company.

No,  in fact we have a deal,  I draft and he's taking over.  Anyway, I cancelled my plans to New York,  my baby is very sick and quite honestly I don't know how much longer she has. I am not going out of town to party during her last days.

I have been meaning to put it in the Dawgs thread but it hurts too much writing it.

ESPN should make their online draft as customizable as the offline draft. The other league I'm in did an offline draft and the commissioner was able to plug in all the keepers ahead of time. that feature would be way more useful for online drafts.

The division draw features 4 pots from which the 3 divisions will be drawn, based on finish in the previous season:

Mack, Puck, JFIF
Iata, MB, Soss
UKK, IJR, Fenwyr
AR, SFD, Heismanberg

Each pot will be drawn twice to fill the divisions.

I am really not sure how this draft went......It was the most difficult draft I have experienced, lots of players were taken right before I was going to pick them. I was forced to take players a round too early because there were 23 picks in between. I found it much easier last year and I didn't put in as much work.

I did 15 minutes of research before drafting and only watched 2 preseason games, both Jets.  So I think I did awesome.  It helps that 2 of my keepers are awesome.  I'm sure some of my picks will be terrible, but IDGAF.

Sorry.  I put all keepers at the end of my draft list.  Never set my rankings other than that because I planned on being there.  Got some horrible news this morning and basically got drunk and slept through the whole thing.

Sorry for any trouble it may have caused, but to be honest, I don't really give a freak about anything right now.  I'll just have to be king of the waiver wire.

It's really all good.  We took care of it, and with one stretch it was easier than in years past to deal with it all.  I hope everything's all right, but the tone there tells me it's not.  Obviously nothing going on here matters.

Ah.  Yeah, like I said, nothing here matters.  My mom battled breast cancer two years ago and is now cancer free, so hopefully the treatment works with your mom.  I don't know if this new or a return, but I'll keep my fingers crossed treatment goes well.  Keep us updated.  Cancer freaking sucks.

A week ago was the 5 year anniversary of my mother getting diagnosed for the same. She was stage 2 at the time, it spread to her lymph nodes.. Didn't tell anybody in the family for 2 months. She's cancer free for awhile now and been traveling and enjoying life.

Medicine has come a long way. Hopefully Fen, your mom can go to some good doctors and specialists. They make all the difference.

You're strong at every position except WR.  I wouldn't have made that remark if your team sucked all around.

But being weak at WR in a 3 WR league is a potential problem, of course.

I tried.  He rejected the trade and asked for Hopkins and Todd Gurley.  If Gurley wasn't eligible to be franchised, I'd have thought about it.  I'm hoping to be able to get Foster from him for Hopkins and McCoy.

The word before the game was that he was supposed to be on a limited snap count.

Who knew that Adrian Peterson was a bad pick this week?  I almost started Ware over McCoy, but I wanted him to prove it first.  Never thought he'd outscore AP by more than 30.

I nearly took Keenan Allen over Brandon Marshall at 6th overall. I was debating between those two.

Then again, Allen outscored Marshall this week, and the extra points Allen would have gotten me may have been enough for me to win.

I basically need the Rams to score a defensive touchdown against the 49ers if I'm going to win Week 1.

It's never fun to have the 2nd highest score in the league, and lose to the guy who autodrafted!

I did the opposite. I thought about getting cute and starting Theo Riddick over Frank Gore, despite the workload I figured Gore would get. Then in one of my other leagues, I started Darren Sproles over Melvin Gordon, and I'll probably lose because of that. So I suck.

I tried for years to get my kids into football.  Couldn't do it.  They get bored and disinterested. So once they got old enough, Sunday was basically spent separately during football season.  It wasn't as much fun.  I wanted them to get into sports, but I couldn't force it. They like hockey but only live.  Once we realized just how much they love soccer, that was it.  My daughter has watched games here and there since she was three, but in the last couple of years it has grown into a full blown obsession for both.  I'll always watch the Jets, but I'm at the point I'd rather watch soccer with them than other football games on my own.

My life just doesn't allow for much leisure time at the moment and I can't get into football games even if I'm around for.them. losing a job I liked to go to one I don't really enjoy at night has sucked work wise and being away from my family all night 3 or 4 nights a week. Then trying to flip my sleep schedule around so I can be a somewhat functional father to a 6 month old hasn't been very much fun either.

Not looking for sympathy,My dumbass put myself in this position. Need to get my excrement in order before my daughter can actually remember what is going on.

Trade proposals where I give up Julio Jones, Mike Evans and Dixon for a collection of stiffs make me freaking angry. I dont want to see a freaking trade proposal from you this season, you're banned.

Coming my way is Marshall, Hilton, Macklin and Gore.. A trade that monumentally freaking stupid would be veto'ed in a milisecond by the entire freaking league.

How about you trade David Johnson and Allen Robinson for Devonta Freeman, Eric Decker, Pierre Garcon and the directors cut of two girls one cup?

Would you freaking do that? Of course not, so freak yourself.

Andrew Ryan three years ago wouldn't try something that obnoxious and he made some obnoxious freaking trade proposals.

I got Michael in the 9th, Fuller in the 10th, and Howard as a free agent a week before he got the starting job. I've also got Kelvin Benjamin as a 14th round keeper for next year.

Hilton's is fine. Marshall and Maclin are both getting a ton of targets but haven't been as efficient. Both have track records of being WR1s (Marshall) or WR2s (Maclin). If they keep getting thrown to as much as they have been, I expect them to bounce back and play like they do every season. And Gore is the No. 15 RB in fantasy so far this season. He's a legit RB2 in fantasy.

I probably shouldn't have tried to get Julio AND Evans in the same deal. That part was overly ambitious. Dixon was a throw-in.

Everyone overrates their own players.

I am not over rating anyone, that proposal was an out and out fleece. Evans is the #6 wr and #1 in targets and Julio is the #1 in fantasy at the moment.  He should have offered to kiss me before he fucked me like that.  In comparison to those two he offered a collection of stiffs.  Plus Dixon  is a throw in,  hey while I am  fleecing you with the other two alone,  how about throwing in the future Ravens starting Rb. Like I said, freak himself.

I will need a quality starting RB at some point.  I am pretty solid at WR and TE right now and could spare someone for the right price.

Both my preseason favorites go down in the first round.  I score 141 points against nobody.  I have a bad feeling about this coming week.

Im in 4 leagues plus occasional draft kings but will probably stop playing next season or restrict myself to draft kings or a single league. This excrement is too stressful... having to worry about every team's 3rd string running back gets old

yep

I picked up Ty Montgomery late last week because Forte excrement the bed for me.  I didn't expect that to pay off.  9 out of 10x it wouldn't.

I'm going against a guy that backed into the playoffs.  10-3 vs 6-7.  Half my team is Q this week.

I have no business pretending to talk smack.  Cam will have a TD to Olsen, and Bell will catch 10 out of the backfield.  The voices in my head told me I am fucked.

This year is the lowest scoring year we have seen on a long time. No worries, I lost because of a last minute injury to my top WR and we couldn't make the change in time. Oh well, with the exception of last year my luck sucks in the playoffs. Two years ago AJ Green did the same thing. Even with shitty luck, this is the first year in a while I didn't at least get my money back. I have to say this season sucked. Good luck

My backs combined for 0.8 points.  I should win, but am taking 0 for granted now.

If I do win, it is 50% thanks to Matt Ryan off waivers, and 50% thanks one of the strangest ffl years ever.

They still think Bell is good for 25 points.  I don't see it against the Ravens D.  Meanwhile I am all in on the Broncos.  This excrement is too stressful.

I told everyone and their mothers to bet deep on the Browns.  They did, I never got around to it.

This weekend could have yielded much more profit.

Dang what a sorry final, almost the whole entire consolation bracket outscored both contenders.

That said, congrats MB on riding LeVeon (and Fen's combined 0.8 from RBs) to victory.
