I was flipping channels last week, came across WWE, and they had "Sting" on there. Surprised that guy is still alive. his face paint/receding hairline combo was hilarious

It's a humping doll for the sexually confused adolescents who watch pro wrestling.

There's nothing sexual about putting a male blowup doll in a figure four leg lock.

And it clearly says for "hugging", not humping, on the label. Not gay at all.

I know this thread is meant as a joke, but Wrestlemania last night was pretty awesome, and certainly way above my expectations.

I'll just leave that there in case anyone else watched/likes wrestling and see if there will be any positive responses.

The fact that the whole show was pretty much in the sunlight made them weaker than they could have been. The terminator one was ridiculous, which is a shame because last year's for triple h was great.

Even NXT drew a crowd at Barclays thats going to rival what some Islander games do this year.

It's been solid, but they've making some bad mistakes with the main event scene.  They've painted themselves into a spot where they really only have two buyable potential champions, Lesnar and Cena. They need to figure out how to get some of these high potential guys over the hump. Even Rollins has been delegitimized by his excrement run as champ.

I've actually enjoyed Rollins run, with the caveat being that he needs to hold the belt until Mania. He's fine being a chicken excrement heel with the belt, but the only way to legitimize a character like that is with a super lengthy title run. At the conclusion of Mania I had an all-shield main event or Rollins-Reigns pegged as next years main event. Considering how far away they've kept Reigns away from Rollins during this run, I still think that's what they're hoping for.

New Day is the best. Xavier Woods is a genius.

I don't mind a chicken excrement heel, but I wish he had a little more than that coming in as hot as he was after the best cash in ever. I thought Sheamus beating him and joining the authority was inevitable, but maybe not.

The New Day is awesome. The Summerslam celebration was one of the greatest things I've seen in a while. Them vs the Dudleys should be able to carry the division for months.

In all honesty, one of the Wild Samoan's and Jimmy Snuka passed, it's hard to get into wresting when the icons are dying off when the show was actually really fun to watch........ Let's not forget Roddy Piper and Macho Man. lol

I love it. I wasn't alive for it, but thanks to living really close to a local movie rental spot as I was growing up and they always had the best excrement available on VHS. Of course, Blockbuster came and totally obliterated their business, but my family and I went to their store as long as we could and I guess were such repeated wrestling renters (probably the only thing that would shut me up as a kid), they set aside their Coliseum Video collection they were selling and let my brother and I have first dibs as they were holding their going out of business sale. I mean the events are one thing, but for example, there's a Piper highlight tape that also features an exclusive Pipers Pit with Roddy Piper interviewing...Roddy Piper. It's hilarious. Shame he passed away, I believe he was a new grandfather and he was getting ready to reprise his role on Its Always Sunny as The Maniac.

I had people calling me when Macho died like a relative had passed because in college I had made not one but two custom costumes for Halloween. I believe when he died, it was around the same time period if not the same weekend that a bunch of crazy derriere cultists thought The Rapture was going to happen. So, I like to believe that maybe those crazy fucks were right, and Macho took one for all of collective humanity.

Today's product while focusing so much more on promos and the backstage stuff, doesn't have nearly the varying crazy personalities that generation did. There are no Macho Mans or Flairs or Pipers. But some of the guys present day are just unbelievable athletes. Even being fully cognizant that what I'm watching is a work and that the guys in the ring are working together to put on a show, some of these guys do things that make the suspension of disbelief pretty easy.

Back then you knew it was fake but boy did it put a smile on your face because it was so damn fun to watch. Pipers Pit was awesome he was hilarious, many of them were.

It's a shame that so many of them were roided, pilled up messes. Wrestling maybe fake but the wrestlers are very good athletes no denying that. They destroy their bodies just as badly as football players, if not worse. It's a shame that so many of the old school guys are dead, mostly way too young. Sounds weird to say that even though it's fake I totally respect what they do, they kill themselves to entertain people.

I still remember some guy using a hidden razor blade to cut himself to make it look like black jack mulligan was making his temples bleed from 'the claw'.

Piper was a lousy wrestler, but the Pit was always awesome.

Macho Man was my all time favorite.  I was madly in love with Elizabeth.

The greatest rivalry of all time was Undertaker vs Mankind.  Their matches were brutal.  You were just waiting for one of them to get killed.

A lot of wrestlers back in the day would file razor blades to little shards and cut themselves for the effect. If you look at an old wrestlers forehead you can see where they cut themselves.

I got to see Mick Foley's stand up show at SPAC up on Long Island when he was touring. He was very entertaining, but he's just so beat up. I was in pain just looking at him trying to get from a sitting to a standing position. Without breaking out into tears and shouting, "It's still real to me damnitt!" I totally get it. It's not as bad as when LT was treated like a total joke for daring to take a one night 6 figure pay off and enter the ring, but its still definitely the redheaded stepchild of sports and entertainment, which is fine except there's something lost to a lot of people in how much these guys physically put it on the line.

Me and you both. I loved everything about Macho, from Elizabeth, to how high strung he always was, the crazy promos, the outfits. He was just the complete package. Even the small stuff like when he'd take his glasses off and his eyes would dart back and forth like something was up and someone was coming after him.

Definitely Takers best rivalry. Foley was the first guy that would actually fly around the ring for Taker and really sell his excrement. Taker up until that point had really worked in monster vs. monster matches with either guys that had no ability like Giant Gonzalez, guys that were too selfish at that point to sell his excrement and were worried about self preservation like King Kong Bundy, or in matches where it actually made sense for say Yokozuna or Hogan to not look ultra vulnerable because they have the belt.

I love the look on Takers face in the Hell in the Cell match when Mankind goes through the cell. It's a great, "Ohhh fuckkkk" face, as while the first bump over was planned, that wasn't.

A lot of wrestlers back in the day would file razor blades to little shards and cut themselves for the effect. If you look at an old wrestlers forehead you can see where they cut themselves.

As soon as I read this, I got an image of Dusty Rhodes forehead and all those gig marks. I always appreciated Bret Hart for how good he was in terms of me watching his match and never being able to spot when he bladed. Then of course there's Captain Lou Albano (RIP) who may have gotten a little too loaded before a match with Snuka and decided, "ah freak it I'm just gonna start cutting myself and I don't give a excrement who sees me." Hilarious footage now, but I'm sure at the time people were probably like, "why is Captain Lou cutting himself?!"

Apparently for laughs, if you happen to be at the blackjack table with Abdullah the Butcher, he'll take a casino chip and fit it in one of the divots on his head.

I'm convinced Puck wanted to bang Ravishing Rick Rude.

"What I'd like to have right now, is for all you fat, out of shape, Winnipeg wimps, keep the noise down while I take off my robe and show you all what a real man is supposed to look like!"

He's getting in the WWE Hall of Fame tonight, but like so many others of course its posthumously. Bittersweet.

Randy Savage beating the excrement out of Ricky Steamboat in the old Boston Garden was a traumatizing moment as a child for me. I remember Jesse Ventura screaming to Gorilla Monsoon that "Savage is gonna kill him" as he has Steamboat's throat on the outside stanchions while jumping off the top rope and bashing the starting bell over his neck.

Also remember King Kong Bundy giving Hulk Hogan the avalanche like 20 times in a row on Saturday Night's Main Event not long after that. Crazy excrement. I thought he was gonna die too.

Was that the fight where he pulled out brass knuckles he had hidden in junk?  I know he won his first belt in the brass knuckle fight.  Think it was called the Intercontinental belt back then.

Nope.  It was Tito Santana in 86.  Macho Man had only been in the WWF for 7 months.  What I said were brass knuckles is described as a foreign object.  Still was hidden in his junk though.

Wrestling hasn't been remotely interesting since the late 90s.

Unfortunately, I thought they had it all in reverse, and it shows how fucked up their booking strategy was/is.

Unless you have guys with the charisma of a Rock, Stone Cold, Savage or Hogan, you cannot book your show to where the guys that are clearly going to put the best match on the card go on first. I knew as soon as AJ and Shane were done working, that was it from a workmanship point of view and it was all downhill from there. Reigns can't carry a main event as a babyface. It's not possible. They've been trying for three years now. That Cena match should've led off. No one gave a excrement and we could've gotten the whole proposal thing completely out of the way with an antsy crowd still anticipating the good matches that were on the card (thought Jericho-Owens was also good) still to come.

I have no idea why Wyatt lost to Orton. Because when you already have a bankable star who doesn't need a belt, you should totally put him over a young, budding superstar who really needs the win.

Bork vs Oldberg was what it was, and truthfully I actually enjoyed it. Brock is so believable I don't mind watching him just shitcan people.

Hardy's got a tremendous pop because Jeff has always been a star in that company and Matt has completely re-invented himself over the last year. There's trademark issues with the gimmick he was using, so we'll see if they drop it or if WWE dares a smaller company to sue.

I saw Wrestlemania up to right before the first ladies match. I haven't really watched wrestling in about 10 years. I would have been really disappointed had I stayed to watch the whole thing. I can't stand Cena and I like Miz. I like Jericho. And Taker losing at Wrestlemania again is a load of horse excrement.

Shane-O-Mack is a god amongst men though. For a dude that has absolutely no need to even step into the ring, he does the most ridiculous stunts.

I only regret missing the Hardys.

Doesn't sound like he's in great shape.

if you've met criteria for ICU admission it's definitely not for just 'routine monitoring'. you have to be pretty sick and require a much higher level of monitoring/medications/interventions to be in the ICU

I thoroughly enjoyed it. Thought Hogan was very gracious in putting Flair over.

For the marks on the forum, Jericho showing up at Power Struggle was cool as freak. Should be interesting to see what Kenny Omega can get out of him at this stage of their careers.

I wonder how many people's elbows it takes to get those Eugene Levy eyebrows. Yeesh.

Anyway, am I the only overgrown infant who actually watches the current product? Raw and SmackDown are what they are and the newly (Relatively) formed AEW is experiencing the growing pains one would figure out of a new venture...but NxT might be the best weekly wrestling show I've ever watched in my life. It's destination tv for me.

I stopped watching wrestling around when Austin and Rock stopped being regulars. I watched the late-Attitude era until then. Never saw Cena's rise, and when I tried going back to WWE he turned me completely off to the product.

My brothers still watch regularly, but they were also early investors, so they have some motivation. I've tried watching PPVs at their houses, but to me, it's an unwatchable product now.

the Hana one is messed up. i read that she grew up in the wrestling business and had like no experience with normal people, so she used her fame to get a role on that reality tv show(i guess its japanese big brother?) and got pissed off that one of the other guys there ruined her ring gear and she went off on him. all the japs started online bullying her and she shared some messed up self harm images.

Horrible. I had read that he was making good money out in L.A. I had no idea he was the one who modeled and did motion-work as Kratos in the latest GoW and apparently he had also done work on Birds of Prey recently. So many wrestlers have a really hard time leaving the business even when they're at an age when the business is done with them, and this guy was in his late 30's and had found another avenue of entertainment to be successful in. Total shame.

It's funny you say that about Shad because I literally said to my wife, "his son is never going near another body of water again." That's Truman-show type excrement.  I've been accused of being insensitive once or twice, but whoever was the agent for AEW's main event on Saturday and approved the spot where Matt Hardy is "drowned" needs to have their freaking head examined. Granted, it could've been pre-taped before the fact which is IMHO the only acceptable excuse. That's just tone-deaf as freak otherwise.

I can't imagine the environment Hana was brought up in considering how cult-like female wrestling is in Japan, but it doesn't surprise me it was one in which she wasn't equipped to deal with the avalanche of harassment she wound up getting.

Of course, it goes without saying that her death was entirely preventable, unnecessary and as a result of people being freaking terrible. Couldn't agree more.

Sunny should be rolling in dough right now from a fifteen year career as a manager/broadcaster for them and instead she fucked it all up and will very likely be doing at least fifteen years in jail, if not more.

And given that someone lost their life, and she's had multiple chances to turn her life around after something like seven DWI's, she deserves every minute of it.
