Title: Week 16: New York Jets vs. Cleveland Browns
Post by: Badger on December 16, 2013, 08:31:34 AM
Burning questions:

Can Josh Gordon be held under 200 yards?

Can Coples improve on his sack total from last year?

How many of our offensive players will TJ Ward kill?

Who is Rob Chudzinski?

Nothing against Gannon, he's not half bad.  But since we have nothing left to play for, can Marv please bite him mid broadcast?

Gannon pissed me off against Oakland because he was openly rooting for them.  He shouldn't be bad for this one though.

Not the best QB season though. Vinny and Chad both had a few better seasons, and a couple other guys were on par with what he gave us.

I think he was hurt and probably shouldn't have been playing, but was more concerned about his streak than our season. The losses at SF and Seattle were inexcusable, Clemens could have beaten those teams. We were very lucky to get the one win we got vs Buffalo. I knew walking into the stadium Week 17 that Chad was going to stick it to us.

Sounds like Jordan Cameron will be out with a concussion.

That noise you hear is a huge sigh of relief from our linebackers and safeties.

Now we can quadruple cover Josh Gordon.

It's possible.  Looks like there's twelve teams that can finish as bad as us:  6-10.

Realistically, we need PIT, NYG, BUF, and TEN to win.  Hopefully the Steelers win out.  We will pass NYG, TEN, and BUF because of SOS if we all finish with the same record.

Our SOS is lower than most of the bad teams, which would boost us up.

I think we're finishing 7-9 and the highest we'll get is 9 with that record...but a lot would have to happen for us to move up.

Things need to be shaken up, but I'm still rooting for us to win...even if it's meaningless.  We won't be in a spot to land a top QB prospect, even if we lose out.

Right, but it'll be less costly to move up from 9 to 3 than it would be to move up from 15 to 3.

Right, but it'll be less costly to move up from 9 to 3 than it would be to move up from 15 to 3.

Definitely, but I'm becoming increasingly okay with drafting a weapon in the first round and taking Jimmy Garoppolo later.  Taking a WR or TE early and then trading up for Garoppolo would be awesome.  That gives the team a QB competition and a skill position talent.

After evaluating these players, I'm worried that Garoppolo will move into the first round.  He's good.  Hurts him that he's not a part of the Senior Bowl.
Title: Re: Week 16: New York Jets vs. Cleveland Browns
Post by: Italian Seafood on December 20, 2013, 02:01:34 PM
I never root for us to lose. Moving up a few spots doesn't necessarily even mean you draft a better player. We got a much better player at 13 than we did at 9 this year. If you're vying for the #1 overall and there's a Luck or something out there that's different. The one time we had that scenario in the mid 90s Peyton Manning decided to stay at Tennessee so it was all for naught anyway.

Plus, I want Rex to stay so winning is important and I think the players will treat it as such, even though Rex won't present it to them that way.

We got a much better player at 13 than we did at 9 this year.

After 14 games it looks that way.

Dee Milliner was the better prospect though.

And moving up a few spots could secure a top wideout or one of the better QB prospects.
