How would they regulate it? You can't reroute all air traffic around NFL stadiums and practice fields. If the team itself doesn't hire the plane, how can you punish the organization because their fans are retarded, and do something outside their control?

The nfl could do things like punish players/franchises if theyre involved (ala Hardy) or restrict public practices when fans do this, indoor practices etc.
The fact that a guy died is the only reason I think theyll do something

Because he's a smug arrogant prick who thinks he knows better than everyone else in history about a football game. On top of that how many times has he been accused of being a giant douche by his former NFL players, several of whom called him a racist? Then backs a dickweasel like Riley Cooper and promptly gives him a big contract, and then doesn't use him on the field.
Or maybe it's because he has a punchable face. Idk

He's not the one actually on the field. Coaches have no lives outside of football so even most ex players look like excrement.
I don't really think it's that bizarre he'd want his athletic product to be finely tuned and his personal commitment is secondary.

Found this headline amusing
Pouting Sam Bradford still ignoring Eagles
Eagles coach Doug Pederson says he's yet to have contact with Sam Bradford since the quarterbacks' trade request.
Pouting Sam remains inconsolable, even after the Broncos' selection of Payton Lynch took them off the board of potential suitors. The reality is, Bradford has nowhere to go, and will be in Philadelphia competing with Carson Wentz and Chase Daniel this season. The sooner he realizes that, the better. The Eagles could have handled the situation better, but Bradford is well compensated. This is life in the NFL for mediocre quarterbacks.

Wow. Ken O'Brien got sacked 62 times in 1985 but only threw a few INTs, I think single digits. Two of them led directly to 9 points for the Jets. We went 11-5 and hosted a playoff game.
-
Wentz benched. The Jalen Hurts Era has begun.

-
Some asshat was talking about the Jets trading for Wentz since they have the cap space to take on his deal and the Eagles needing to pay the Jets to take the contract ala the a Brock Osweiler trade the Browns made a few years ago. This guy also said Philly would pay us 2firsts to take him. Which of course is idiotic. But if Philly wanted to give us a top 10 pick this year and some more stuff in the future to take that deal for 2 years, I’d probably consider it, since JD doesn’t want to spend FA money and wants to build through the draft. But it won’t happen so what’s the point anyways?

Yeah I wasn’t talking about in a single season. I just meant how long has it been since we won 11 total games with our non expected starter at QB.
2020- 0
2019 - 0
2018 - 0
2017 - 1 (Bryce petty)
2016 - 0, unless we call Fitzpatrick the backup at seasons start then it’s 10, but he started week 1.
This exercise is depressing and I’m not even sure I’m doing it right. I had forgotten just how inept we have been this decade. It’s been 11 total wins in the past 3 seasons and I believe all of them were with Sam starting and then we won a random game against SF starting Petty in 2017. We have been atrocious with our starting QB outside of the Fitzmagic year and significantly worse without our starter.
I think we might have to go back to the Pre Sanchez years to get us to 11 wins without our starting QB and that’s almost incomprehensible

We don't have a lot of wins since the Rex days, period. You mentioned 2015, I guess you could count that because Geno was supposed to be the starter. You could maybe count the 8-8 year in 2013 with a rookie Geno after Sanchez went down late in the pre-season. We won a game with Clemens at Tampa in 2009 when Sanchez hurt his knee sliding. We won the last game of 2010 with Brunell against a bad Buffalo team because we were locked into our playoff spot. Mike Vick I think won a game in 2014, might have been our tailgate game vs the Steelers.
Before Rex we had Favre who didn't miss games and Pennington, who missed a lot and we almost always lost when he was out. In 2002 Vinny started the season and Pennington came in, I think he was 8-3 or 8-4 as the starter, and won a playoff game.
-

-

He did, good call. I was at the one loss vs the Ravens, I think Ed Reed is still running.
Vinny also won a game in 2003 as Chad's backup vs Buffalo.
-
So have we made it all the way back to Chad's '02 season before we managed to win 11 total games without our starting QB week 1?
Setting aside the Sanchez injury in Geno's rookie year, and the Fitzpatrick taking over for Geno having his jaw broken nonsense?
My freaking god that's unfathomably bad production without our starting QB
-
In 2007 Chad was hurt and ineffective, we won three games with Clemens late in the season. One vs a winless Miami team, like 0-11, an upset over Pittsburgh and an ugly OT Week 17 win over KC we were better off losing. So there's 3 more.
-

I feel like I want to know the stats for other teams winning 11 or more games with a backup QB before I judge the Jets, because I think that it's hard enough to win that many with your starter at the most important position.
-
Jets legend Quincy Carter went 2-1 for us in 2004, I think.
Quincy played really well in the three games for us that year under normal circumstance but especially considering he was about 6 weeks out of going to rehab.
I always viewed that guy as a huge what might have been, especially considering had he taken care of business in Dallas Tony Romo is probably available on waivers/on their practice squad.
I remember Vinny coming off of the couch in 05 when Chad and Fiedler both got hurt to beat what had been an undefeated Bucs team. On a related note, going into the 05 season (and unfortunately, the Favre year) is probably the last time I ever felt truly comfortable with who was in the quarterback room.

I can't imagine a realistic situation thats worth taking on that contract at his current play level. We have the #2 pick. If we want a new QB, we have the ammo to do it right.

I’m not advocating trading for Wentz and making him the starter. I’m advocating buy premium picks by taking on his salary from Philly. But I can’t imagine he gets traded unless they want to give up a 2 this year and a future 1, because I can’t see them giving up a top 5-10 pick to get him off the roster and free up the cap space this year.
If we were to do it, I’d be happy to let him compete for the starting job

I can't see the Eagles giving good picks away to take on his salary. I don't know whether I would like the move or not, but if we got high picks it would make sense to do it. I just can't see the Eagles doing that. Some team will bite for less.

Pretty sure he still costs the Eagles something like $20M if they trade him because of accelerated bonus payments.

Philadelphia Inquirer's Jeff McLane reports the Eagles are "getting closer to trading" Carson Wentz.
This confirms reports from NFL Network and ESPN. Teams are making "aggressive offers" to the Eagles currently, and Wentz "wants to move on" from the organization that opted to draft his eventual replacement (Jalen Hurts) instead of adding more help in last year's draft. Philly will be taking on $33.8 million in dead money by trading him, but the relationship may be too fractured to keep him inside the building. The asking price is what's delaying a trade right now. McLane believes GM Howie Roseman is "probably" searching for multiple first-round picks after seeing what Matthew Stafford was traded for. It's unclear how many teams would be willing to give up even one first-round pick after Wentz finished 31st out of 32 quarterbacks in passing EPA per dropback, but the Colts and Bears are potential suitors. Both teams were involved in Stafford talks and currently sit outside of rookie quarterback striking distance.
Who the freak is giving a first round pick for Carson Wentz? I know he had that one season but its just been three clumsy midgets in a Carson Wentz costume since then.
-
If Wentz can garner a 1 with that contract, I fail to see why Sam could not
-
If Wentz can garner a 1 with that contract, I fail to see why Sam could not
Wentz was actually good once
-
If Wentz can garner a 1 with that contract, I fail to see why Sam could not
Philly will be eating almost 34 million of that contract
I'm not sure it would be terrible for another team. Especially if they value him enough to warrant giving up a 1st round pick.
-
Very surprised people are willing to give up legitimate assets for Wentz, if that does prove to be the case.
You do wonder if we'd be better off trading Sam now or waiting. I assume Saleh and LaFleur and co. want to do more evaluating of Sam before they make a final decision.

Greg Bedard from the Boston Globe says that the Eagles' asking price was/is two 1sts. I find it hard to believe they'll get that given the current quality of the player and the size of his contract.

I think part of the reason he might fetch more than we expect is that the Eagles will have a big chunk of his contract to eat. Like $34 million. The Eagles are expecting extra in return for that I guess. I still agree that it's too much for him.

I think it's an OK deal for both teams, although the things we've been hearing about Wentz are not great he played his best football under Frank Reich.

Lol....Roseman wants a pkg similar to what Detroit got for Stafford. Good luck buddy

What the freak are you thinking trading away your 2022 1st round pick with Jalen Hurts at the helm?
Fins are going to wind up with another top 3.

Former #Eagles DC Jim Schwartz is joining the #Titans with an official title still to be determined, per @brentdougherty
. It's a return to Tennessee for Schwartz, who was with the organization for 10 years from 1999-2008.

The #Eagles and TE Dallas Goedert reached agreement on a four-year contract extension, sources say. The deal ranks top three amongst tight ends on an average-per-year basis.
Goedert, who was slated to be a free agent after the season, is now under contract in Philly thru 2025.

Big move for the #Eagles, who give Dallas Goedert a 4-year, $57M extension with $35M guaranteed, source said.

He would've been a nice addition. But not at that price. The draft can provide us a TE.

I'm hesitant to rely on a tight end we take in the draft for immediate production. With a few exceptions, tight ends usually take a year or two before becoming difference-makers. For that reason, Mike Gesicki's one of my top targets in free agency.
-
New England overpaid for them but it's unfortunate we weren't able to get one of Henry or Jonnu. Have to make up for that next offseason. Tired of having a big fat zero at tight end...

I really like Gesicki. I'd be pretty surprised if Miami lets him go.
CJ Uzomah would be a good signing too.
Tonyan coming off the ACL could be a bargain bin signing.

Eagles released S Jaquiski Tartt.
Tartt started 14 games for the 49ers last year, totaling one pass defense and five TFLs. He has 80 career starts to his name. His inability to make the Eagles roster comes as something of a surprise. Tartt should find another home as secondary depth for 2022.
I wonder if we're going to go after him.

https://www.nfl.com/news/jalen-hurts-eagles-five-year-255-million-contract-extension
The Eagles and their superstar quarterback agreed to terms Monday on a fiive-year, $255 million contract extension that makes him the highest-paid player in NFL history, per sources. The team later announced the deal.
Hurts' deal has $179.304 million in total guarantees, including $110 million fully guaranteed at signing and $126.5 million fully guaranteed by March 2024, as well as the first no-trade clause in Eagles history -- another sign of the franchise's faith in Hurts, who is still only 24 years old.

This right here is a type of move I’d expected us to be in on this year if Rodgers was healthy. Keeping adding and finding ways to improve the weaker areas of the team. Given it’s Zach, we might not make this kind of move right now. But next year I suspect we do.
