30 50+ yarders in his career. Some decent numbers, for a punter

The haircut is better now, but I don't think he looks like he has as much fire as he did when he was younger.  I'm also not a fan of 50 year old rookies, no matter how well they've aged.

Punting doesn't change much from college to the pros, right? I think it's reasonable to expect the same distance and accuracy next season.

Biggest change is probably the football being a little different and the chance of getting blocked/amount of time to get the punt off

True, but it's probably the one position that's the least bustable in the draft.

I'm gonna give the Jets a call for a tryout. I may not be a punter but I am Australian.

Punted the ball 12 times tonight for a gross average of 48.8, while pinning 6 inside the 20. Guy is legit. Lach Ness Punter.

Funny how we drafted a good punter

The same year that a bunch of teams cut pretty decent punters to save money or something

Eitherway its hard not to be happy with this

A franchise punter will go a long way until we find a franchise QB

If it were a regular season game, he would have broken the Jets single-game punting record by 135 yards.

Lachlan Edwards is a damn good holder. He makes kickers better.

2016: Folk - 87.1% FG (79.6% over rest of career)

2017: Catanzaro - 83.3% FG (75% season before, 80% season after) and 0 missed XP (4 season before, 5 season after)

2018: Myers - 91.7% FG (81% over rest of career)

Don’t know if this is a valid correlation you can make, but it’s v interesting.

The Jets also had one of the best special teams coaches/units in the league in all of those years as well. And surely haveing good special teams coaches leads to good special teams kickers

Net punting average in the preseason thus far, & rank among the 35 punters w/5+ attempts

Lachlan Edwards: 46.5 (2nd)
Matt Darr: 39.0 (22nd)

To be fair to Mr. Darr, his average punt attempt has come from further down the field than Lac's (own 48 vs. own 34)
