This sounds like the age old ER story. "Well doctor, it's like this. I was doing the vacuuming in the nude and I slipped over...."
Anyway, I feel like I can be a regular contributor to this thread given what absolute fuckwits my countrymen can be. To kick you off:

Freddie Mercury tore May’s buttocks years ago

Honestly, I wouldn't be embarrassed one bit, its kinda funny. "Well, I tore my derriere cheek over some bomb-derriere broccoli!" It's not often that derriere and gardening go together in a story.

He's polling worse than Corbyn. You were wrong.
Starmer's last net satisfaction score was -29 which ain't great, but Corbyn hit -60 at one point which is the lowest of any party leader in the last 45 years.
Corbyn was probably the hardest hit victim of this pathetic and miserable right wing trope of "if you don't support Israel's illegal occupation and express any sympathy with displaced Palestinians you're an anti-semite", and the UK voting populace is in large part motivated by small minded pettiness, greed, selfishness and delusion, so I'm not saying for a moment that Corbyn was a bad guy or that I don't have sympathy with a number of his positions. But he was completely unelectable. He comes from a long line of unelectable Labour leaders such as Foot and Kinnock; the trade unions can't carry an election any more and appealing to the left wing loses you the massive middle.
There's a reason that Blair was the only successful Labour leader in my lifetime. Wishing the UK had a greater sympathy with socialist causes will not make it so.

Most of the latest polls have Labour 3-5 points behind in current voting intentions. In the last election Corbyn handed the Conservatives their biggest victory since Thatcher in '87.
I understand why don't like Starmer, but facts don't care about your feels.

Pretty funny Starmer might underperform a guy who endured sabotage from his own party and far more hostile media. I thought he was going to own the Tories with his sharp wit and nice haircut?

The British obsession with supporting the absolute scum that form the current government is astonishing. Starmer was never going to do it overnight, and he might never be able to do it; after the Red Wall collapsed under Corbyn and they lost some traditional Labour strongholds that should never have been in play in the first place, it probably can't be recovered with the middle ground alone. He's definitely not underperforming Corbyn though, he's attempting to repair the wreckage Corbyn left behind.
The UK has to go through some quite extraordinary pain, I think, in order to realise that Brexit was a planned disaster engineered from the outside by multiple interested parties for the benefit of very few who actually live there. That will be what brings down the Tories, not Starmer or Corbyn. The question will be what builds in its place and I'm pretty sure that Corbyn's socialist utopia isn't a realistic plan.

Where Labour is now compared to where they were under Corbyn is a significant improvement. He was guilty of driving the division in the party by attempting to force it back into its legacy of failure - I think that some of things that were said about and done to him from both inside and out were utterly distasteful and shameful, and I absolutely did not eat them up, but I won't try and pretend to be sad about the Blairite centrist factions winning out.
IMO the Labour Party should split off the far left factions into a new party and the centrists absorb the Lib Dems, who are something of a busted flush these days, and run as the centre-left party they were always most successful as. Starmer already got rid of a couple of the biggest clowns like Williamson.

Guess I'll put this here for want of a better place. Jonathan Pie is a brilliant English comedian (technically a character of an English comedian) who does very sweary and angry political commentary, and he's done a video opinion piece about Boris Johnson for the NYT. Grass-fed is a term that means always had access to pasture and never ate grains. Cows that had grain tend to have more fat. Some people prefer the taste of one vs the other but there is a difference which is what the article refers to. Not just the cows ate some grass. That would be all of them.

I'm sure there's some cheese experts on here, but to 99% of mortals is there really a difference?
Or is this just some cunty excrement like how people brag about eating freaking organic or shopping at whole foods

I probably couldn't tell. You are correct. Most people couldn't tell tastewise. It isn't just cheese, it's the meat products too.

I feel like you're all missing a key part of that headline, which I grant you is doing a lot of work in a few short words.
In what way is she "the UK's strictest headmistress"? Who makes this determination? Is there some kind of scoring system in order to ensure that this particular accolade is awarded correctly? And perhaps most importantly, why does being the UK's strictest headmistress grant her any kind of authority over the relative tastiness of cheese, and why does her judgement on the matter merit a story in one of the UK's most widely read newspapers?

You're not a Fed employee though. Ontario already said no, and your government is more right wing and in the pocket of business than ours is. So you're probably working.

Yeah, I got the same message yesterday (telco is federally regulated), then this afternoon got "waiting for confirmation from P&C but because the province isn't taking it and none of the other Fed regulated industries like the banks or airlines are, expect to be working".
Municipalities are a creature of the province (at least in ON, I assume the same in MB) and your Premier already said that provincial sectors like schools will not be getting a holiday, so I wish you luck.

MB, I thought drawn and ‘quartered’ was reserved for supposed ‘traitors’ such as King Charles I, (courtesy in large measure by that sanguinary jerkoff Ollie Cromwell) and that in the interest of “public decency” lol females were not butchered but instead were burned at the stake. In any event, the pageantry coordinators today imho absolutely nailed it o/b/o the crusty royal neither crevice..…why those 'JE-fraternal, limey cross-dressing poofters' are 'pageantry superior' than the NY Yankees are during old-timers day weekend.
Sidebar: kudos to the ballsy bloke who had the stones to call out Prince Andrew (of Jeffrey Epstein acquaintance): ”Andrew, you’re a sick man!” …. before being pummeled by an enraged crowd and then—-LOL—-being charged himself for ‘disturbing the peace’. Jolly good show.

"I'm sorry, I believe he's dead, may I take a message?"
At least with our Joey B (when doing a 'Truss-180' by calling on people who are actually dead) it's an honest mistake : )
Deteriorate in your own time
Tell 'em you're dead and wither away
Are you living alone or with your family?
A dried up twig on your family tree?
Are you waiting for the reaper to arrive?
Or just to die by the hand of love?

Truss resigns as PM after 6 weeks. So now, instead of calling the general election that the UK is crying out for, they're going to have another leadership election amongst the Conservatives and appoint someone even less popular and even less talented than her.
What a freaking shambles.
