Michaels (snickering): “the last Jet game I did was the ‘buttfumble game’ with Mark Sanchez….sorry Mark….sorry Rich.”

I just want Will McDonald to destroy whatever scumbag is playing QB or the Pats that week and everyone thanks Belichick for screwing over the Jets during the draft
-
Looks like broncos are back on the menu boys!
Anyone looking for a road game?
-
The start of that calendar is freaking nuts. I think if we make it 3-3 we're gonna be in great shape for the rest of the season.
-
I think we need to be 4-2 heading into the bye to have a realistic chance of winning the division.

I don't see us winning the division over the Bills. I did a predictor a couple of hours a go, and have us tied at 11-6 with the Bills and the Dolphins but finishing third because of our Division record.

Oof I hope we at least finish ahead of the Dolphins, considering their QB is one hit away from being Tua Schiavo.

would you like to see it live? vote "week 3" in the tailgate thread and be in attendance.

Last year at this time, we thought the beginning was hard and the end was easy. Didn't turn out that way.
The two big games early are the two division games. If you beat the Bills Week 1, we are in good shape in the division.
After the 2nd Bills-Jets meeting, the Jets' schedule gets a lot softer, and the Bills' schedule gets a lot tougher.
-
gotta beat the best to be the best

Slithering into the playoffs isn't really going to cut it
Historically > 75% of SB champs have had the 1or two seed (and that's before the wildcard changes)
So realistically we really need to be a 13-14 win team to have a serious chance.
Having those tiebreakers over the Bills and Chiefs is pretty paramount

Sorry it's been so long since we've made the playoffs I have a hard time using appropriate language

Undulating into the playoffs

Nonchalanting into the postseason

Imagine worrying about how we get into the playoffs after 13 years of not making it. Jfc.
-
if we end up with a 500 record after either the 4th or 6th game, i'll feel pretty good about our playoff chances overall

Are we SB or bust, or are people happy with a 1 and done wildcard weekend?

Let me enjoy the season, you sociopath. Super bowl or bust talk is ridiculous.

I understand "Super Bowl or Bust" is pushing it, but if this team wins less than 12 games, heads should roll.

Just got my broncos jets tickets. 2 years in a row, let's ride!

Glad Loyal posted the over/under then so we can be more realistic about expectations, at least for the regular season.
-
12 wins is unrealistic? They won 7 games without an offense.
Other than KC, Philly, and maybe the Bills, who else are you all expecting we can't/shouldn't beat? That's 4 losses, so it even leaves room for a disappointment game.
If Aaron Rodgers is only worth an additional 2.5 wins, a certain former ambassador is going to take a page from his former boss' reality TV handbook.

Looks like we have some huge advantages this year with the schedule

How many of those 7 wins were against a team whose starting QB played most of the game?
The Jets over performed last year, and playing against backup QBs was the biggest reason why
-
This is totally something you should be worrying about in May before we've signed everyone.

It's something that became a worry the second we traded for Rodgers

I'm not saying it's unrealistic. 12 wins is possible. 14 wins is possible.
But the Jets are the 4th favorites to win the Super Bowl, and the over/under is 9.5. The schedule is difficult.
I'm just saying the idea that "heads should roll" if we have less than 12 wins is ridiculous. We can win the Super Bowl at 10-7 or 11-6. Maybe even 9-8. 12-5 is hard to do, especially in the current AFC East.
-
Alright, 9 wins or less and the suicide pact is back on.
-
If we win 12 this season I'll uncork the champaigne. When was the last time we won 12 games?

I haven't seen it mentioned elsewhere, although I may have missed it, but the Jets' preseason schedule appears to be set:
August 3rd - HoF Game v Cleveland @ Canton
Week 1 - @ Carolina
Week 2 - v Tampa
Week 3 - @ Giants
I would have thought it would make sense to skip Snoopy this year and play someone else given we play the same game in the regular season.

I'd imagine the Snoopy Bowl is one of the more disproportionately lucrative annual match-ups given the attendance, cost thereof, and non-existent player compensation.

I think part of the appeal is not having to travel anywhere for a meaningless game.

Can't imagine Jets play starters against the Giants.
