That guy is such a prick.
-
oh man..the next 3 weeks need to hurry up. Can't take much more of this.
-
There is absolutely no way the Pats get Rosen, unless he murders a puppy and free falls. 23 and 31 won't even get them top 10. Seems even less realistic than the Saints' interest in Mayfield.
-

I don't believe it either. Not because they couldn't get enough compensation together, but because I can't see the Giants trading with them at all, much less going back that far. I guess they could throw in Gronk or just Ditka it all, but I doubt the Giants want to leave the top 10.
I could see the Pats moving up to the top 10 for another player that falls, but no QB they want will fall far enough.
The Pats have created themselves a lot of holes to fill by letting guys walk. They need the picks.
Besides, we all know what they will do. Regardless of how many picks they start with, they will end up with 2 scrappy white guys, at least 1 Rutgers player, someone they overdraft by about 3 rounds, and a bunch of extra mid round picks in 2019 from trading down 48 times. And the talking heads will be lining up to shine Bill's balls.
-
Maybe they are targetting Lamar Jackson. McDaniels did draft Tebow because of his athleticism. I don't see them having a shot at any of the top 4 QBs though. Plus, they have a a lot of holes for a team competing for a SB. They lost two of their top receivers, their other receiver is coming off a torn ACL, Gronk has contemplated retirement and they lost their Solder, Dion Lewis and Malcom Butler to FA. They can't afford to trade multiple picks for a QB that's going to sit on the bench for 3 years, and expect to be a SB contender.
-
That guy is such a prick.
For fans of teams hoping he falls in this draft, I highly (hint hint) doubt Baker Mayfield gets past the third pick. #Jets
Such. A. Prick.
Follows the same formula over and over. Waits for a legitimate journalist to release new information, then tweets it as news on his account, with no source or credit.

Sad thing is that he has a good chance of being right even though he's just parroting what everyone else is saying.

Two weeks ago, we reported that league insiders believe the New York Jets will select quarterback Baker Mayfield with the third selection. And while Josh Rosen is still in consideration for the pick, those representing the top quarterbacks in this draft tell me they also believe Mayfield ends up with the Jets. One source, who has dealt with quarterbacks at the top of the draft the past five years, believes Mayfield to the Jets is a “done deal.”

For sale to the Giants.
Kidding. Looks like the Giants are probably making that pick at 2 unless the Bills can pull off a huge trade.

@OmarKelly:The Dolphins would need to send the Broncos at least its second round pick (No. 42) to make a deal with Denver to move up from 11 to 5. Trust me, this is being discussed.

@OmarKelly:Been thinking.....here me out.....if the Broncos take a QB (and people in the league expect them to with pick No. 5) the Dolphins could probably trade a third-day pick for Paxton Lynch, and he's better than all 6 QBs in this draft in my humble opinion.

Correct

Is he just being fed lines from Mayfield's agent to inflate his value?

I think everyone is saying Mayfield is the Jets pick. He just jumps on board with that opinion after everyone else then claims everyone is jumping on his info.

This veers between quite perceptive and amusing, and horribly self indulgent. They also missed a wide open opportunity at the end to have Roger Goodell playing Dante's Iscariot in Judecca; if you're going to do a poncey article like this, then commit to it properly.

A SWAT team in Florida raided the home of a former college football player -- after cops say he threatened several Dallas Cowboys members after not getting selected in the NFL Draft.
Cops were told Reed "had called members of the Dallas Cowboys and was telling them they needed to sign him. They stated he was making threats to harm people if the Cowboys did not sign him."
When cops arrived to Reed's home, Reed allegedly fessed up to making the threats -- including telling Cowboys employees he was going to "f*** their wife."
Reed explained he was "frustrated they wouldn't 'show him the real money' and sign him to a contract."
-
any shot he may have had, just went out the damn window lol
And “show him real money?” Did he want a $20 million dollar contract as a UDFA?
-
"I was surprised when they took a quarterback because I thought that, maybe in the third round, you know you can get some really good football players that can help this team now,” Roethlisberger said during an interview on Pittsburgh's 93.7 The Fan, also suggesting the pick felt like an affront to his commitment to playing for the Steelers at age 36. "I think they believed me. Once they drafted a quarterback in the third, I wasn't sure if they believed me or not."
.......
Ben Roethlisberger on Mason Rudolph, 2018: "If he asks me a question, I might just have to point to the playbook."
-
I think Rudolph should be worried that Ben will roofie him and see if he's DTF.
It's funny, a leopard can't change its spots, once a dickhead always a dickhead.
-
"This might be my last year."
"Waaaahh! They signed another QB."
I don't understand him. For someone who is such a good QB, he's such a bitchy drama queen. If he wants to keep playing, he has absolutely no competition from Mason freaking Rudolph and it isn't like they were sure to get an instant contributor in the 3rd round anyway. He's acting like Mason Rudolph fucked his Mom.
-
Is Ben so insecure that he fears a 3rd round pick is going to take his job from him? I mean really? So much so that he won't be a mentor for Rudolph to help the team for when he does choose to leave?
-
It's funny, a leopard can't change its spots, once a dickhead always a dickhead.
And yet scouts had zero "character concerns" abut Ben in 2004.
They should have asked Miami of Ohio's women's volleyball coach what they thought of him.

Broncos are at 10, I can only see them being interested in a move up for a QB which means that they would be trying to get ahead of the Jags, Giants and maybe Buccs. Really need to hope that someone lights it up at the Combine.

I'm trying to remember when the preliminary groundwork was laid for the Darnold trade last year....was it at the combine or the Senior Bowl?
Dropping back to 10 would be perfect provided we end up fleecing that bucktooth retard to the tune of their 2nd round pick in 2019 and their 2020 1st rounder.

That’s the starting price. We paid 3 2s last year to go up 3 spots. To go up 7, it should be the equivalent price at worst, and should be more. That’s 2019 2 and 2020 #1 at the bare minimum. I’d also expect we get a 4 this year and a 3rd next unless they want to tap in a 2021 top 2 rounder or include a big time player into the deal. Aside from Von Miller, I’m not even sure who I’d want from their roster and no way he’s an option.
Intersting question this brings about to me.
Which is the better option?

Team's not talented enough to pass up that many picks. Bosa is great but the philosophy should always be to build up as much talent as possible.
Depends how far down the trade would be to some extent, though.

My thinking is that a top 3 pick in the draft is only truly useful to acquire a franchise QB. If you don't need one, and the Jets no longer do, then that pick's best value is in a trade-down scenario.
I don't know the guys coming out, but I'll happily take more picks. This team lacks talent at a number of positions and lacks depth practically everywhere. The more picks they have, the more spots they can fill.

questions like these always end up depending on what the team does with the picks. if Bosa is as advertised and we excrement the bed with the other picks, the thinking is going to be 'why trade down for excrement when you could have had bosa'.
i'm down for trading out, we just need to hit on the extra picks that we acquire.
-

All true. But the general question is, what would it take to move off the spot if Bosa was on the board?
Better question, would it take less to get you to trade down if Bosa was gone? What about if Allen is also gone? Or would you want the same deal no matter what?
What's the minimum it would take to move off the spot in the "worst case" scenario whatever you deem that to be. You just want to get out of the spot, what's the least you would take? How low would you go?
Interesting philosophical question to debate about. Perhaps we should make that it's own thread?

Shower beer post strenuous exercise is awesome. Shower beer for the sake of it is lame.

Shower beer for me is usually when I’m getting ready to go out for a night of drinking, or I’ve just finished work/workout and about to have a few. It only makes sense in the pregaming context
