Definitely not

There was an article comparing him to TO saying TO took 3 years to get in, and he absolutely blows AB out of the water in virtually all receiving categories

Theoretically, couldn't the Raiders have traded him if all his guarantees were void? Sure he's expensive and mental  but he would come with no guaranteed money

You're insane.

6 year period he had atleast 100 catches 8 TDs and 1200

He averaged 110 catches 11 TDs and 1400 TDs during that time period.  No one else has ever done that.

He isnt a first ballot hall of Famer but he will get in

The competition at wideout is going to be insane for this generation.

Larry Fitzgerald, Welker, roddie white, Julio Jones, Calvin Johnson, Brandon Marshall, Beckham, Hopkins Thomas Hill Allen

. There's gonna be a lot of guys competing with him. And with the way that football is going there's going to be a freak ton of guys with a lot more passing yards than him.

Last year there was 20 guys with 1k + receiving yards.

I don't think brown is done id say there's close to 100% shot he plays more football so this is all a moot point. I'd be shocked if him to the Patriots doesn't happen real soon

On a side note, when Brown gets signed by another team, which he will, do you think he will face a suspension by the league?

Is it too much to hope for that Brown actually is off his rocker and he destroys them from the inside out?

If he just played the crazy guy to get cut (hoping to keep his money) and then end up in New England, where Pittsburgh never would have sent him...

The reason Belichick loves signings like these are 1) he might behave and play well once he's a Patriot, or 2) he can make an example of a big name player to reinforce "The Patriot Way."

ESPN's Chris Mortensen reports Antonio Brown sought advice from social media consultants to "accelerate" his release from the Raiders.
That would explain some of Brown's more outlandish maneuvers in the past week, including an Instagram story criticizing the Raiders for fining him (which later led to a heated confrontation with GM Mike Mayock) and a YouTube clip leaking a recorded (presumably private) conversation with coach Jon Gruden. Brown's acts of self-sabotage worked exactly as intended, drawing the Raiders' ire and eventually freeing him to align with Tom Brady and Bill Belichick in New England. The Patriots offered a first-rounder for Brown earlier this offseason but the Steelers weren't keen to trade him to a conference rival. Turns out, he found his way to Foxboro anyway. The Evil Empire strikes again.

I'm rather curious the NFL's stance on this

What could they do?

The NFLPA will fight everything they try and blame mental health issues, which is likely true to begin with.

Could certainly investigate the Patriots for collusion if a player was actively making an effort to get cut to sign there.

Surely there's a good probability that he directly or indirectly gauged interest from New England before blowing up his contract.

Not to mention what's to stop other players who aren't happy from their contracts in doing this?

Instead of guys holding out for their contracts, it makes more sense for them to just do this so they can get cut and become unrestricted free agents.

It's a slippery slope, but regardless players shouldn't be able to manipulate teams like this when they're under contract.

On a side note Tom Brady asked Antonio Brown to come live with him and Giselle

There's only select Patriots I actively root for getting injured. But what Brown did was exceptionally scummy and he did to end up with the Pats, so freak him twice. Anything he gets, he deserves worse

He's literally threatening his accuser's children in a group chat that includes his lawyer, and the only statement his lawyer had (probably the only one he could get out in between repeatedly banging his head on the office wall) was "I have told my client not to communicate with his accuser".

The NFL is probably trying to get their ducks in a row because whatever they decide will be scrutinized all to hell by the media and appealed. It should be as simple as suspending him until further notice, but that's not the world we live in.

In regard to the Jets, as good as he is, I doubt Brown will be the difference in a win or loss for us.  He more likely the difference in a clear loss vs. a blowout loss.

Has anyone tried to say that these texts were not confirmed to be from him/photoshopped?  Seems someone is always crying about fakes.  I would assume he'd have said that by now if they were faked.

I just hope Goodell waiting to do anything means brown gets suspended for the post season instead

And I'm okay with them not having suspended him. I understand this whole me too nonsense is taking over, but let due process and innocent until proven guilty still be things. An allogation shouldn't be enoguh to sink you, even if you are a lowlife piece of trash like Brown.

If the NFL was serious about wanting to discipline him, he would be on the Comissioners exempt list right now while they were investigating. They’re probably looking for every reason possible to let him off because admitting AB is a psychotic scumbag is a bad look for the league. And Goodell is a coward.

If Zeke got 4 games for getting blackmailed by a chick, that has to at least be the starting point. They use past precedent set a lot in these drug/PED/DV cases

The league should be embarrassed with the way it handled this. If this was JAG they would have been suspended before the season started. Even the fuckin Pats did the right thing. Unbelievable.

Did they pay him his $9M or did they void his guarantees?

I'm sure this will be fought over in courts arbitrators etc for months.

He hasn't been formally charged or disciplined and they knew about all this excrement before they signed him so who knows. He certainly has a leg to stand on

No.
Considering that this happened with his Oakland contract that he may have legitimately voided his contract, I'd be surprised if this wasn't far more complicated since this contract had a good chunk guaranteed too

Contract language can be vague.

Apparently the clause the patriots will use is in Browns case is that his behavior undermines respect for the team. That's not a black and white term.

That said sportrac and Larry brown sports are reporting all the Patriots will likely end up oweing him is 2 game checks, and that he will likely file a grievance

As Heismanberg pointed out the other day, the moment he threatened his GM was the point at which he should have found himself on the Commissioner's List. It's unacceptable for any player to be threatening violence towards a member of staff.

freak your knowledge bitch I been all pro before I even knew u!

Why do I feel as though had he not been such a malignant piece of excrement in Oakland, and had this been his only transgression (the feet being frozen was always a non-story to me), that they'd be letting the process play out and he'd be suiting up in Silver and Black this Sunday for a Raider team that looks like they may be able to make a move in a conference with a very shitty underbelly right now. 9 wins gets a team a wild-card birth, no?

What a freaking idiot.

While Antonio Brown has not yet been paid any of his $9M singing bonus, the NFL is still treating it as earned for salary cap purposes, per source.

As things currently stand, the Patriots will carry a cap dead charge of $4.5M in 2019 and 2020 for Brown’s bonus.

Hell Antonio Brown was still going to be playing even thoguh he physically threatened his GM with racist remarks, and raped 2 women. But his stupid derriere deciding to send them threatening text messages about a woman that he raped kids is almost certainly the only reason he's not going to the SB this year.
