Title: Draft Party Food 2020
Post by: bojanglesman on April 21, 2020, 09:26:10 AM
Still trying to decide.  Wings are my fallback.  Local place in the neighborhood has 4 flavors: Buffalo, Honey Bourbon, Carolina Gold (mustard), and Old Bay.

I'm an idiot and fell off a ladder yesterday and my neck made sweet love to some bricks, so I probably won't be able to drink because of pain meds.  Percocet might be my beer.  I'm lucky though, could have been much worse.

The taco place that I would normally hit up is closed until this is all over.

I am searching for a replacement.

TACOS AND BEERS for the draft as long as we're in Texas

My beloved local pub has just started doing takeout so I will be ordering wings from them. I normally don't care that much about watching the draft but this year in the absence of any real sport I'm actually going to commit to it.

This list begs the obvious question, do chickens have balls?

Whatever leftovers I bring to work on Thursday night. Thankfully the draft is on ABC and at least I’ll get to (mostly) watch it.

Damn, glad you're (relatively) okay.

I don't do any special food for the draft. I only care about the Jets pick, so it's not the big event to me it is to others. It will be really nice to see something sports-related though.

Dominos

There is something about it when I'm drunk that I just crave it

Buffalo specialty chicken
Stuffed cheesey bread
Parmesan garlic pizza with feta and salami
Buffalo kicker sauce on the side

I live across the street from a Domino's. This would have been a major problem for college-era me. Now if I want cheap pizza, I just try to keep some Freschetta brick oven pies in the freezer, especially now during lockdown.

I think I had a stinger and a just an ugly brick outline goose egg on my neck.  A little higher and I could have injured the empty melon on my neck.  Thankfully my penis is still unscathed and disappointing.

Talked to a client of mine yesterday that was alone at a rental condo in Mexico...missed a step walking down into the backyard and snapped his fibula in half.

Told me he laid there overnight until a neighbor heard him.

You might need one of those special needs helmets to wear the next time you decide to do some yardwork....Puck might be able to hook you up with a discount.

Bruh, the chances of me fitting into those tight white jeans has long since passed. Since the last time I wore them I've spent 18 months lifting followed by 6 months of sitting on my derriere drinking beer and eating excrement. I doubt I could get them past my thighs now.

I will always defend wearing those jeans, I looked freaking good in them. They just don't fit any more because I bought them when I was going through a phase of long distance running and now I'm going through a phase of being a fat bastard. Like all things this too shall pass, but I promise I will never give in to being one of those lazy middle aged fuckers who considers cargo shorts, a brewery T-shirt and knackered Reeboks to be acceptable for anything other than yardwork.

Leave the Crocs out of it though. They're my one indulgence and they're staying. Mrs English is starting to insist that I at least replace them with a pair that aren't orange.

Man, I can't even tell you how I destroyed a bowl of spaghetti the first day I stopped actively supporting my wife's keto dreams.

You're doing it wrong

I stopped being keto a couple of months back. But ever since the quarantine started, my wife has been like "lockdown don't do keto."

I just don't have the appetite I used to. I only eat twice a day; salad for a late lunch and then dinner, but I almost never go for seconds. It's pretty effective. I haven't put back on any weight yet.

What else would a diet be good for?

Yes, we were trying to shed weight quickly. I dropped from 215 to 185, which I hadn't weighed since high school, between Labor Day and Christmas.

Now I fast 16 hours each day, eat a salad for lunch, and eat like I'm not starving for dinner. Allows me to make up a ton of calories in alcohol on the weekend.

But in the meantime I'm sipping JD, eating sweet maui onion chips, and prepping for the draft to start.

But in the meantime I'm sipping JD, eating sweet maui onion chips, and prepping for the draft to start.

See, there are times I wish I could be really fit and ripped and then you post stuff like this and I think "ah freak it, not worth it". Don't you ever just go "Cheetos, a six pack and a family sized pepperoni is my night"?

Korean tacos happen tonight.

So pickled cabbage good, pickled cucumber bad.  You, sir, are a contradiction.

Reverse seared filet mignon with gorgonzola cream sauce over creamy polenta

You didn't have to go and flex on us like that klax

Absolutely, especially when I get drunk. My food consumption can get pretty damn wild. I usually do 20K calories on SB Sunday. This weekend is a free-for-all since I'll probably be drinking with my wife for her birthday/the draft.

I had a 6-pack of Stella last night after I finished my first 4 drinks of JD on the rocks.

I'll likely go completely off the rails later tonight. We have birthday cupcakes just delivered to our house, a loads of junk food that we bought just for her birthday.

If it wasn't my wife's b-day, I'd be having beer, wings, and pizza like the rest of you.

I don't love pickles but they're OK. Battered and fried they're awful.

Fried kimchi would also be terrible. Probably more so.

Well all right then. I can go with this. Still not going to get up and go lift excrement though.

If you're able to drink that from now until the end of the third round then you're a better drinker than me. And I'm pretty good for a little fat lad.

I can drink a lot because I have some friends that are borderline alcoholics so my tolerance is boosted through osmosis. That being said I’ll prob feel a nice buzz after a pint of this. After that I’ll likely switch to scotch.

I'm pretty drunk, but my wife made pan-friend gnocchi with a heavy cream, sun-dried tomato and garlic sauce.

As I post this, I'm having my 3rd plate (like last night). No regrets.

Settling an argument here.  You were sent to the grocery store by your loving wife (or gay lover for Puck) with a list and on that list was "fajita shells".  Assuming you tried to text said wife/homosexual twink and got no response, would you buy?

A) Taco shells
B) Soft tortillas

Both is not an answer. You have to pick one because I'm stupid and didn't get one of each.

Tortillas, a way more versatile purchase

Frame the purchase in the context of getting exactly what the wife wanted (as if she was making a specific recipe that required one or the other).

Obviously the answer is tortillas because you can make both tacos and fajitas with them. Also, hard shells are derriere.

I was thrown by the word "shells".  I bought taco shells.  Since when have shells been soft?  I was shopping based on getting the right thing, not hedging on versatility.  I demand a full pardon based on shitty wording.

You can turn torillas into crispy shells if you try hard enough

If someone asked me for shells, I would've purchased hard tacos too...

That's tricky

Yeah.  In my defense, I tried to text, got no response until I was on the way home.  Looks like tacos tonight.  That's not punishment.
