If everything goes according to plan then we won’t be drafting any top 5 players at their position on this side of the ball. Which basically means we need a top 10-15 position list so we can determine potential Jets targets.
That said I have heard the Jets supposedly like Willekes quite a bit. For whatever the rumor mill is worth this time of year

A lot of what the Jets need will depend on how free agency shakes out. If the Jets can get a corner and pass rusher capable of starting dependably in free agency (doesn't need to be elite, just solid), I have a hard time wanting anything on defense in the first part of the draft. I don't think a 2nd or 3rd round corner or pass rusher has a decent chance to help this year. One of these WRs or interior OL could.
Gegg showed he can hold the defense up with excrement talent. We should upgrade defense too, but it needs to lean heavily on offense.

I'll be interested to see if we release Avery Williamson and go after someone like Joe Schobert to replace him.

Why would we replace him? Assuming Mosley is healthy, he and Cashman will presumably be our starting ILBs with Hewitt and Burgess backing up. I can't see a point to spending money on FAs at the position when we've got very good starters and backups on the roster already.

I agree. I don't think the Jets would move on from Williamson without the intention of sticking with the other guys we have to save $. Schobert will get more than we pay Avery. The only advantage would be having a player under contract for longer.

Hewitt's UFA, Burgess is RFA.
I'm certain Blake Cashman has the talent to start in the NFL. I'm not at all convinced he's durable enough to do so.
But I don't want to spend excrement on ILB. Flip Williamson for a lineman and pick up a linebacker late in the draft.

I never thought about trading him. Could probably only get a later round pick seeing he's a 1 year rental.

Cashman is not good or durable and JD didn’t pick him

Durability and physical traits are a concern for sure, but he played well when he was out there. Even putting that aside, Schobert wants $10M+ which is why the Browns moved on. I can't see us signing a second expensive inside backer.

If we convert to a 4-3 it makes sense

Did Cashman have durability issues in college?
