So, Late Night With the Devil (thanks to Steve)…good flick. Wouldn’t put it with the greats although it definitely takes themes from The Exorcist (duh), Rosemary’s Baby (thirst for fame) and the Dick Cavett Show. I will say it moved slow at times and the ending, although you know it’s coming, was rather abrupt. Still, great performances especially the host and the girl, and definitely original despite the obvious homages. The last 25 or so minutes were interesting to say the least.

The ever-increasing focus on home run swings at the expense of contact has to be a factor.

Then the counter to that of starters being asked to throw as hard as possible for 4-6 innings max, then relievers coming in for a single inning and doing the same is another.

If anything, Manfred tried to help by banning the shift. That was supposed to allow more guys to turn outs into base hits. Instead, guys are trying even harder to launch one 400 feet.
