Revised needs to go back to his island. Having him chasing around the other teams #1, it doesn't help the other DBs....I'd rather see him shut down a side and let the others worry about the rest
Welcome to average.
The run is over.
You can't turn a sow's ear into a silk purse.
You win the games in the trenches. Always have.
I don't how or why they've lost their direction over the years but they have.
You build a team from the inside out. What you saw today was a team that was a shell of itself.
How the hell is it that Denver can afford the players they have and the Pats can't???
Friggin Emanuel Sanders is lighting it up tonight for Denver. And Brady gets to throw to Kembrell Thompkibs while the Kraft's pocket 13 mil in cap space. Are you shitting me???
Tom Brady is no longer an elite QB. His accuracy has fallen drastically and he can NOT throw the ball down the field anymore. Honestly I would put in Garappolo for awhile, he doesn't have the football IQ or good decision making of Brady, but his passing is superior at this point.
The Patriots offensive line continues to be the worst (in my opinion) in the league, and it all starts with Nate Solder. The O line needs a complete revamp except for Connoly.
The defensive line, although usually not as bad as it was today, continues to put absolutely ZERO pressure on the QB.
Lastly.... CHANDLER JONES IS THE MOST OVERRATED SCRUB IN THE NFL! THIS DUDE IS THE DEFINITION OF HYPE.
Brady took a pounding last night and I don't mean from Gisselle's strap on.
He looked slow and labour-some, throws were off by yards. We have endured him for years but it's nearly over- I bet he can't wait to line up opposite to our D line.....

Always good to see New England lose a division game besides us, this is what we need.
The fans are spoiled of course, they hadn't lost an opener in 11 years. Imagine that for a minute.
Saw the end of that game and it ended strangely. Floating bombs that were off target down the field.
Brady had the lowest comp % of QBs in week 1, barring a LOLEli night. Now if only he fumbles a ball off of someone's butt well be set
Saw the end of that game and it ended strangely. Floating bombs that were off target down the field. Slow to get the team moving they just went ahead and used up all of the clock. It kind of reminded me of McNabb in the Super Bowl. Just strange to see Brady run the two minute offense like that.
Brady had the lowest comp % of QBs in week 1, barring a LOLEli night.
Just saw that last night watching the Jet broadcast, CBS cut to the last drive after our game. Could have been the Florida heat or just the inability to move it any faster. They were struggling just to get first downs and keep the ball.
He sucks now. He should retire.
Not yet. I want to see one full season of him sucking as he begins the Patriots' spiral into insignificance, I don't want him going out at the top. I want to be able to remember him finishing with a 56% completion rate and as many TDs as INTs. I want him to go out leaving a bad taste in the mouth of the bandwagoners. I want to hear him booed at Foxboro.

It was very sweet to watch Marino struggle at the end. We beat him the last four or five times, I remember some nice pick-6s and strip sacks in some key games.

Wallace always reminded me of Wesley Walker.
I told you there were plays where Revis got beaten like a rented mule. That's one of them.
That is not the Revis that was on the Jets.
Yeah, but that was incomplete anyway right? 2nd foot was clearly out.
(Did not watch the game...)
His worst game as a Jet might have been in Miami, the MNF when he got beat by Tedd Ginn Jr once or twice. I think it was 2009, which was his best year. I remember some Miami poopchute posting that GIF on TGG.
Wasn't that a zone coverage miscommunication?
The good thing about the Patriots mediocrity is that it won't get better overnight. I think this is the beginning of the end for them.

I want to see the Pats excrement the bed against Cinci before I call them declining. Too many times they have come back from losses and rolled 4-5-6 straight wins.Their defense is garbage. That what leads me to think this may be actually real.

Their offense looks worse and no offense to Seafood but Revis looks like an ordinary corner.
I sure hope so, I never thought I would love to see Revis turn average but it's freaking glorious. Hahaha 12 million corner my poopchute.
If KC made them look bad, I can only imagine what Cincy will do. Unless Dalton plays like he's in the playoffs.

But that makes no sense. It's a team from America playing a team from America.
Every day this site makes me more confused.
What's the equivalent of the U-S-A chant for the English?
It's an expression of solidarity and pride. This beautiful country has produced a game so wonderful that we take pride in it, and regardless of the outcome, we are all countrymen and should embrace that fact despite our relative disappointment. Not sure why that was hard to get.
That argument kind of falls apart when you consider that literally two seconds before he was attempting to face freak his fellow countryman.
No.
You haven't played hockey that's for sure.
No, but I played rugby. Sure there were fights on the field with no hard feelings afterwards, but it didn't go from throwing punches to kum ba ya in two seconds.
I don't understand how singing your country's name fits with the tribalism of being a sports fan when both teams are from the same country.
Can we get back on the topic of laughing at the Pats misfortunes?
I'm watching Sportscenter loop just for that very reason.
Cecil Lammey @cecillammey
#Patriots Tom Brady has completed only 43% of throws more than 5 yards this season, 2nd-worst in the league behind #Bills EJ Manuel (40%)
How far fetched is it to think Brady gets cut after this season?
“There’s nowhere I’d rather play, I know that. I love playing for this team and I love representing this team and hopefully I can do that for as long as I can. When I suck, I’ll retire. But I don’t plan on sucking for a long time. So hopefully that leads me to being here and there’s no place I’d rather be. I love this game and I love working hard at it. I’ve had a lot of people over the years tell me the things I couldn’t do and I think that’s always been great motivation for me to try to go out there an accomplish things that I think I can do so hopefully I can continue to play at a really high level for a long period of time.”
Nice knowing ya, Tom.
What kind of contract should we offer Brady when the Pats cut him?
Think we are a playoff team with that bundle of sticks?

Just the fact that the Brady exit strategy is being discussed is music to my ears.
Unless Brady starts playing well again, they have some hard decisions ahead. They either have to trade him to avoid his guarantees, keep starting him until he's 40, or cut him before the end of the year to avoid guaranteeing the next 3 years' contracts.
It sure is fun isn't it? Maybe they can pick up Geno when the Jets jettison him in a year or two.I'd love to see Brady play for another team, then come back and beat NE.

Q: Your team has been successful for so long. How difficult is it to adjust to the adversity of Monday night's game and get back on track? This team and organization hasn't had these sort of issues in the past.
BB: We're on to Cincinnati.
Q: You mentioned Tom Brady's age at the draft –
BB: We're on to Cincinnati.
Q: Do you think having a 37-year old –
BB: We're on to Cincinnati. It's nothing about the past, nothing about the future. Right now we're preparing for Cincinnati.
Q: Do you think the talent you have here is good?

BB: We're getting ready for Cincinnati. That's what we're doing.

A source told the Boston Globe that Aaron Dobson was deactivated in Weeks 3 and 4 because he "mouthed off" to Patriots OC Josh McDaniels.
"Mouthing off" to Belichick wannabe McDaniels apparently costs you two full games, despite the Patriots' glaring needs at perimeter wide receiver. 23 years old, big, and fast, Dobson would give New England an offensive element it sorely lacks, but it sounds like McDaniels is putting his ego before the team. Dobson's status going forward is unclear. He's just a WR5 stash in 12-team leagues.
Tension exists between Tom Brady and the New England Patriots' coaching staff, and multiple sources told ESPN that they believe it could influence whether the quarterback finishes his career with the team that he has led to three Super Bowl titles.
Two sources told ESPN that former rookie quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo was drafted as Brady's successor and the move could happen "sooner than later." No source suggested that "sooner" would mean a change during the 2014 season.
Much of Brady's frustration relates to the downsizing of the Patriots offense that stems from questionable personnel decisions and the retirement of longtime line coach Dante Scarnecchia after the 2013 season, the sources told ESPN.
With Pro Bowl guard Logan Mankins being traded before the season, the line now coached by Dave DeGuglielmo is so inexperienced that Brady's input into game plans, personnel groups and pre-snap adjustments has significantly diminished.
One team source told ESPN that a conservative approach is necessary and said everyone needs to be patient to allow the team and staff to get on the same page. Brady's declining performance also has been cited internally, a source told ESPN.
Nevertheless, the circumstances have affected Brady's confidence and performance, sources told ESPN, and the Patriots have had little success providing the talent needed to execute the team's previous approach -- a complex scheme that can change dramatically on a weekly basis.
The team's draft history also is under fire. The Patriots have used 11 draft picks on receivers since 2002 and only two -- Deion Branch and former college quarterback Julian Edelman -- have made any impact. The signing of Danny Amendola as a slot-receiver replacement for Wes Welker has proven to be a failure, too.
Even though Patriots coach Bill Belichick chuckled when asked Monday night about Brady's status, more than one source told ESPN that "nobody is untouchable."
Brady has stated publicly he wants to play another four or five years, at least. Sources close to the quarterback told ESPN that remains true but acknowledge that his career may end with another franchise unless Patriots owner Robert Kraft intercedes.

That's just absolutely delightful.disagree, it's the opposite of what we want. Now that it's clear he is no longer the Brady of old, we want him to actually stay in Ne for 4 more years sucking balls while that organization slowly withers away into nothingness.

Looks like I'm left with a NE loss as the closest thing to a Jets win this week.
And instead, the Pats up 14-0 in the 1st and looking good.
I think it's more likely that he's just a complete queynte.
Look at his eyes. Without saying a word, he's telling you he's going to eat your internal organs.
Maybe he'll get upset and come back to NYJ for the league minimum.

I can't imagine that he especially appreciates being treated like a rookie.
I can only hope bad things come of it, regardless of who is right or wrong.

It would be incredibly depressing if Revis ends up being the key player that helps the patriots win another Super Bowl.
Tell me another corner who was the key player in winning a Super Bowl.
Deion
Really? Which one was that then? Presumably not the one in which Steve Young threw 6 TDs and Jerry Rice caught 3 of them, so you must be referring to the one in which he had no interceptions and one reception. Hard to make an argument that he was the key player in winning either of those Super Bowls, I think; in fact you'd have had a better argument with Larry Brown, who's the only corner to have ever won the Super Bowl MVP award.

Documented in case of removal.
In those days, the NFC Championship was the real Super Bowl. His movements between SF and Dallas were huge for the championship chances of those two teams.
I understand his importance as a player, I'm saying that he never really won an actual Super Bowl with a Neon Deion type game. If you're broadening it out to his impact upon a team's season, that's a different conversation - but that's not the original point.
OK, I think we're getting away from the original point here, which was Bo expressing concern that Revis was going to win the filth a Super Bowl. I was just trying to allay his fears by demonstrating how unlikely it is that a corner back would win any team a Super Bowl.Me?
You, Tommy, whatever. You're so similar, it's an easy mistake to make. You take that back.
You, Tommy, whatever. You're so similar, it's an easy mistake to make.
I'd be willing to bet that if you went back through every SB ever and looked only at the future HOFers playing in those games and did stat checks/eye tests, I'd be very very surprised if even 1/2 of the guys that went on to make the HOF actually had a HOF performance in the Super Bowl, and for those playing in multiple I'd expect 1/2 of their performances were HOF worthy.
With that as my initial thinking I'm unsurprised that Deion (any one random HOF from a random a position) didn't have a HOF worthy SB performance.

You can exclude Peyton, that's for sure. His MVP award was a farce.
Eli's two MVPs were also lackluster as well.
My memory is a little rusty but I thought he was more deserving of his second one.
More deserving =/= HOF caliber performance
At least Eli plays above his talent level in the playoffs. I have yet to see the vaunted Peyton in the playoffs and say,"that dude carried his team", except against the Jets in 2009'
— People are snickering at soon to be former Eagles CB Bradley Fletcher, but he was a lot better on-field than any efficiency numbers would show. No one is taking into consideration what Chip Kelly’s CBs are asked to do in a gambling, swashbuckling defense. Who’s taking a look at Fletcher? Bill Belichick. If the Pats add him for next to nothing…I just roll my eyes in awe of what the Pats do in free agency. So smart.

Now I'm convinced we can't draft Petty because of all the stupid headline possibilities.

It's amusing, although East Rutherford is no more Manhattan than Foxborough is downtown Boston.
If he'd simply said Manhattan > Boston, he'd have been correct and on much stronger ground.

I've lived in NY my entire life. I've visited Boston quite a few times these past few months thanks to my son moving up there. I'll actually be up there this weekend.
Boston doesn't hold a candle to NYC. The only think Boston has an advantage on is that the Charles River is nicer than the Hudson.
Don't tell Fenwyr he loves Boston.
I'm not ashamed of it either.
Boston > Austin > NYC
Again, I am just talking about visiting, but those are my top 3 by far. Boston gets the nod mostly due to the history. Austin is up there because it fun as hell, the weather is amazing, and the girls are smoking hot. NYC certainly has a little of both, but the cosmopolitan excrement does nothing for me.

Boston has more history than New York? Only if your entire concept of history is the American Revolution. Massachusetts Bay and Plymouth weren't even founded prior to New Netherlands, and the former was just a bunch of freaking douchebags who hated everything and everyone that wasn't them. Their whole purpose was to be a perfect freaking fascist theocracy and convince all of England to follow their example. Then, when they finally start to turn from God and embrace money, they end up pulling everyone into a war that started because they wanted to keep a bigger share of their profits. The American Revolution was basically American exceptionalism rooted in other areas coming to the aid of Boston and saving its derriere from the British. So while I may express gratitude for them actually stepping up, let's not pretend that they had the same commitment to liberty as an ideal as men like Franklin and Jefferson. Virginia's the real freaking hero of the revolution. A bunch of freaking landed aristocrats who really weren't being oppressed by the British with such a fervent commitment to the idea of liberty and natural rights that they freaking threw down in support of those intolerant assholes in Massachusetts and sent Jefferson to write the script and Washington to carry it out.
As for the years since then, New York has played a much bigger role on the stage of history in every freaking way. freak Boston. freak its claim to be the center of history. freak the descendants of the intolerant douchebags who still live there today. And freak you for buying into it.

Patriots LT Nate Solder was diagnosed with testicular cancer in April of 2014.
Thankfully, the cancer was limited to one testicle and had not spread. So doctors removed it and Solder was back on the field for workouts in June. The 27-year-old went on to start every game at left tackle during the Patriots' Super Bowl run and is now trying to raise awareness about a disease that affects 1-in-263 men.

Another Patriot guilty of deflating balls
(not really an LoLPats thing, but everything Patriot related just gets lumped in here)
That's a no-brainer. Even Geno Smith would have seen that.
He would overlook it by 5 yards.
He'd see her standing right next to her boyfriend and then just stare at her all night, completely ignoring the three single girls all begging him to come on to them.
Odd timing. Rosters are never bigger than they are right now. Why cut the guy before you have to? I wouldn't be surprised if there are some legal troubles ahead for him.

Looks like Brandon Spikes rear ended a family with his Maybach and fled the scene.
I love it. More drama and distractions.
They already have a shitload of LBs, Spikes wasn't really a key part of their roster.
I'll take any negative press related to the Pats. It's awesome.Yes indeed. Any distractions are great.

Per source, the NFLPA is indeed looking into potential violation of CBA Article 21, Section 5(a) by the Patriots -- re: Malcolm Butler.
No Club official may indicate to a player that the Club’s offseason workout program or classroom instruction is not voluntary (or that a player’s failure to participate in a workout program or classroom instruction will result in the player’s failure to make the Club or result in any other adverse consequences affecting his working conditions).
I doubt they can prove much. Who is to say they aren't just saying he sucks and isn't getting reps?So bad that he can't practice for 3 weeks?
Patriots waived TE Tim Wright.
A former wide receiver at Rutgers, Wright flashed NFL-caliber "move" tight end ability when he posted 54-571-5 for the Bucs as a UDFA rookie in 2013. The Patriots gave up stud guard Logan Mankins to acquire him a year ago, but he was often an innocent bystander late in the year (10 snaps in three playoff games). Scott Chandler will move forward as Rob Gronkowski's backup, with rookie AJ Derby, Fred Davis and blocker Michael Hoomanawanui also in the mix. Wright, who is subject to waivers, should garner interest as a cheap pass-catching tight end. He's scored 11 touchdowns across the last two seasons.

Patriots bar Revis’ mom from getting his Super Bowl ring
By Brian Costello June 15, 2015 | 10:42pm
The saga of Jets cornerback Darrelle Revis’ Super Bowl ring reportedly took another bizarre turn.
Revis, unable to attend the Patriots’ Super Bowl ring ceremony at owner Robert Kraft’s house on Sunday, sent his mother, Diana Askew, in his place. One problem — she wasn’t allowed to go, according to an ESPN report.
The report said Askew flew to Boston on Saturday, but was informed the invitation to the ceremony was non-transferable. The Patriots wanted to keep it to players only. It is unclear how or when she was notified she would not be allowed in.
Revis will get his ring shortly, though. Askew picked it up Monday morning from the Patriots’ offices.
Revis spent one season with New England, capturing a Super Bowl title in the process. A month after winning the Super Bowl, the team declined to pick up Revis’ option and he rejoined the Jets as a free agent, signing a $70 million deal.
The Jets were hit with a $100,000 fine for tampering with Revis after owner Woody Johnson said in December he would welcome a Revis reunion while Revis was still under contract with the Patriots.
Even though Revis missed the ring ceremony, another former-Patriot-turned-Jet — running back Stevan Ridley — did attend.

Why do they keep picking on such a classy organization?
I hope his replacement is trash. It probably has been said every year for the last decade but I think this year is the year they decline. Garbage secondary, no Brady for four games, superbowl hangover, and some strong opposing AFCE defenses.
I don't think they'll go sub 500 but 9-7 is on the table and a shot at the division.
No, but wouldn't it be wonderful to see Tom win one more ring and really cement his legacy as the greatest QB of all time?

Gisele Hides In Shame Under A Burqa In Paris

Page Six - This woman in a burqa was not heading to any prayer services. Supermodel Gisele Bundchen and her kid sister hid under traditional Muslim wear — during the holy month of Ramadan — so they could get secret plastic surgery in Paris, The Post has learned. The Brazilian stunner orchestrated the cloak-and-dagger mission so she could sneak into the swank International Clinique du Parc Monceau for work on her boobs and eyes, sources said. A dead giveaway was the footwear — Muslim women are forbidden from wearing open-toed shoes. A source said she was concerned that her breasts had sagged after having two children — and the surgery was a 35th-birthday and post-retirement present to herself. Gisele and sister Rafaela were picked up by Bundchen’s longtime chauffeur at the Bristol Hotel and driven to the clinic on July 15, sources said. The photo below shows Gisele with the driver before she donned the burqa. The next day, after the two surgeries, the trusty driver — who has worked for Gisele since at least 2010 — took the two women back to the hotel, where they packed up their belongings. He then drove them to the exclusive Les Sources de Caudalie spa, where Bundchen recovered for five days before leaving Paris. The former Victoria’s Secret Angel, who made $47 million last year as the world’s highest-paid model, according to Forbes, faced a chump-change tab of about $11,000 for her surgeries.

The concussion for #Patriots center Bryan Stork is apparently very serious. They just placed him on Injured Reserve/Designated-to-Return.
Straight up the middle fellas.
Straight up the middle fellas.
He'll be eligible to play again next week, it's short term IR. He'll definitely be available by week 7.I thought he has to sit out until mid-season.
A player placed on injured reserve with a designation to return can begin practicing after six weeks and can't play until after he has been on the list for eight weeks.
Isnt Ryan Wendell pretty good as far as backups go?
Hell I thought he was the starter till recently
Filth fans on /r/nfl seem quite pissed off about this, they seem to really rate Stork. Have to say he's not really a player I've got much of an opinion on.Wasn't stork a 4th round rookie last year?

Hernandez started the letter by blasting his pen pal -- a woman named Rachel -- for criticizing him and went on to suggest ways she could kill herself:

Since when is the Patriots signing/trading for every tightend in the league a surprise ?
The low compensation was a surprise.
How ? Its a salary dump
We got Brandon Marshall from the very same team last year for a 5th, also a salary dump.
And according to the (old) draft value chart swapping a 4th and a 6th is roughly the equivalent of a 5th round pick.
Except Marshall is worlds better plus plays a much more valuable position. Bennett was probably getting cut anyway if they couldnt ship him
Bennett is far more important to the Pats offense than any WR. Bennett and Gronkowski are going to be a nightmare matchup for years.
These are the moves that make up for them drafting shitty Rutgers DBs.
Woah, that's a cheap shot.
Is he more important to the Pats offense than Marshall is to ours ?
No, thats the point. They got Bennett for very similar to what we got Marshall for
Bennett is good but let's not act like they're lining up prime Tony Gonzalez alongside Gronk.
I'll be surprised if he conforms and fits in there.
Agent Drew Rosenhaus refused to address Rob Gronkowski's contract Sunday at the NFL Owner's Meetings.
Gronk counts just $6.62 million against the cap, far below market value for easily the NFL's best player at his position. Gronkowski mentioned his salary in a passive aggressive tweet earlier this month. Rosenhaus could have put the issue to rest on Sunday but chose not to. While a holdout is unlikely, Gronk seems at least a little miffed the Pats aren't offering him a raise.
His contract is fine. Just him and Rosenhaus being cunts.

Easley's knees are in pretty bad shape, and there's not a lot of room for improvement, per source. Still stunning timing for his release.
Rototurd: It's perhaps worth noting that Easley is being sued in Florida for animal negligence, allegedly permitting his dog to attack and bite a man named Wiley Brown.
Rototurd: It's perhaps worth noting that Easley is being sued in Florida for animal negligence, allegedly permitting his dog to attack and bite a man named Wiley Brown.
There's no way this is the primary reason for his release. He must have been an poopchute in the locker room, missed meetings etc. in addition to other things that have gotten him in trouble that will probably come out later.
Defensive tackle Dominique Easley will likely be remembered as one of the Patriots’ biggest draft busts of the Bill Belichick era. On Wednesday, the Patriots released Easley, their first-round draft pick in 2014 (29th overall), and he leaves New England with just three career sacks and 25 tackles in two seasons.
But Easley is not a total bust from a football sense, as he was starting to blossom as an interior pass rusher in 2015. Though he only had two sacks in 11 games last season, Easley was the most productive interior pass rusher in the NFL, according to Pro Football Focus.
Easley pressured the quarterback once every six pass rushes in 2015, best among defensive tackles in the NFL, ahead of players such as Aaron Donald and Geno Atkins (although Easley had a much smaller sample size — 210 pass rushes compared with a little more than 500 for each of those players).
Many NFL talent evaluators believe Easley could be a breakout star in 2016. Two teams asked this reporter about Easley within 30 minutes of the news of his release breaking.
“I’m more curious about how many teams claim him than if he gets claimed,” former Eagles and Browns executive Joe Banner said on Wednesday. “This is a gift to someone.”
So the Patriots’ decision to release Easley set off alarms that the move was about more than just football.
Then add in the financial component. Easley’s salary this fall — about $1.08 million — is fully guaranteed. Releasing Easley on Wednesday increased his 2016 salary cap number from $1.991 million to $2.899 million.
The Patriots are essentially paying Easley to go away. They have depth at defensive tackle with Alan Branch, Malcom Brown, and Terrance Knighton, but not so much that they couldn’t use Easley, too.
The question, then, is why did the Patriots cut bait with their former first-round pick?
The move could simply be a reflection of Easley’s health. He tore both of his ACLs in college, and has finished each of his two NFL seasons on injured reserve — for a knee injury in 2014 and a torn quadriceps in 2015. Two league sources said independently on Wednesday that Easley is “a 25-year-old in a 40-year-old’s body.” Easley turned 24 in February.
But after speaking with several league sources with knowledge of the situation, it’s clear that Easley and the Patriots were never a good fit.
It is not known if there was a single incident that led to Easley’s release. But a portrait emerged Wednesday of a player who struggled with maturity and his responsibilities of being a professional athlete.
“Saw that coming,” one of Easley’s former Patriots teammates said upon hearing the news. “Injuries and locker room cancer.”
Easley’s relationship with the Patriots got off on the wrong foot when he arrived to their rookie minicamp shortly after the 2014 draft and couldn’t participate — not because of his knee injury, but because of injuries to his ankles, arms, and wrists sustained when bitten by his pet pitbull two weeks before the draft. The dog, which weighed more than 100 pounds, bit two other people plus an animal care worker and had to be euthanized in Palm Beach County, Fla.
Easley had not told any teams about these injuries prior to the draft, and the Patriots were not happy when they found out, as the injuries set him back in his ACL rehab. Easley was on the field for Week 1 of 2014 but didn’t get significant playing time until Week 3. He really only played in nine games his rookie year, and was placed on IR with three games left in the regular season.
Easley’s love of aggressive dogs has caused him other problems. One of his friends, Wiley Brown, filed a lawsuit against in Easley this past January seeking at least $15,000 after being attacked and bitten while staying at Easley’s house. The suit, filed in Palm Beach County, claims that Brown suffered permanent scarring, among other maladies. Easley is also bracing for the possibility of two other lawsuits being filed against him by other parties.
Easley came to the Patriots with a reputation of having an aloof personality, and he lived up to the billing. He already has fired two agents and three financial advisers in his two years in the NFL, and last week hired popular NFL agent Drew Rosenhaus as his third agent. When reached on Wednesday, Rosenhaus declined comment.
Multiple league sources said Easley was unreliable and immature.
“He’ll make an appointment for a massage and not show up,” one source said. “He’s just very disrespectful and irresponsible.”
“I think he rubbed a lot of people the wrong way,” another source said. “He comes across as an entitled kid. He reneges on everything. He thinks he’s invincible.”
When it came to football, Easley played by his own rules, which didn’t go over well with Belichick and staff. He routinely ignored requests to rehab his injuries with the Patriots’ trainers, and instead did it on his own. Most players rehabbed their recent injuries in the Patriots’ facilities, but when Easley was placed on IR in 2014 and 2015, he immediately left the team and did his own thing. This past offseason he traveled to Germany to seek alternative treatments for his knee.
The Patriots grew so fed up with Easley during his rookie year that they placed him on IR in December and told him to stay away and rehab on his own until the offseason program began in April. When the Patriots were raising the Lombardi Trophy in Arizona, Easley was partying in Las Vegas.
The Patriots “never liked him from the get-go, and part of the problem was he would never listen to the medical advice,” one source said.
And the feeling was mutual, with Easley privately telling people in 2014 that he wanted to be traded. An official request was never made.
On Wednesday, the Patriots did both sides a favor and cut bait with Easley. They originally signed him to a four-year, $7.3 million contract with $5.89 million fully guaranteed (his first three NFL seasons). It is unclear if the Patriots attempted to trade him this offseason, but it is surprising — and perhaps telling — that they did not get even a seventh-round pick for Easley.
Easley is due approximately $1.08 million this fall, and if Easley is claimed off waivers, then the new team assumes Easley’s salary and the Patriots don’t owe him anything.
But Easley’s contract does have offset language, so if Easley clears waivers and then signs for, say, $800,000 with another team, the Patriots only have to pay the difference.
Whether or not Easley is claimed, the Patriots still increased their salary cap hit by almost $1 million just to be rid of him.
It is unclear if there was a single incident that prompted his release. But it has become increasingly clear that the Patriots’ decision to release Easley was about a lot more than just his football abilities.

Just because the article mentions the possibility that Brady's suspension gets "delayed", would it be worse for him/the Pats if Brady's suspension got put off a few weeks ?I think it's either going to happen as scheduled or delayed for the entire year. No in between.
For example instead of him missing the first 4 games (and then playing the rest of the season straight through) him missing like weeks 6-10 or something
Or would it ultimately not make much of a difference ?
I think its unlikely to happen, but still

BREAKING: Brady misses start after slicing thumb with scissors prior to Thursday's preseason game https://t.co/38inBngO8y
When I read that online I thought it was a jokeI didn't read this
It's not
^good, fuckem.
Nothing matters until it's Brady long-term.
Ian Rapoport @RapSheet
A stunner: Former starting center Bryan Stork is being released by the #Patriots today, I'm told. Crazy.
Ian Rapoport @RapSheet 1m1 minute ago
Wow. #Patriots didn’t cut C Bryan Stork after all… they traded him to the #Redskins, source said. That was unexpected.
Ian Rapoport @RapSheet 38s39 seconds ago
The #Patriots traded C Bryan Stork to the #Redskins in exchange for a conditional draft pick, source said. Deal being worked out now.
Probably got 9 first rounders for him.
freaking cocksuckers
Now they save cap space and possibly get something for him
Ian Rapoport @RapSheet 3m3 minutes ago
As for the not cut, now traded #Redskins C Bryan Stork... He's now weighing retirement, I'm told. Not definitive. But pondering. For real.
Adam Schefter @AdamSchefter
Browns are trading the sixth overall pick from the 2013 draft, LB Barkevious Mingo, to the New England Patriots, per source.
I'm sure they trade raped the Browns. He'll probably do well there. Or not. Who knows. $5 million rental.
freaking hate this excrementCan't call it trade rape when we don't know the terms
It's a huge part of the reason the Pats are so good, they can consistently make trades with the worst run franchises in the NFL and completely take advantage of them
It's probably for like a conditional 6th round pick
Can't call it trade rape when we don't know the terms
It's the PatsEven if they did get him for a 2018 conditional 7th Mingo sucked and was not worth anywhere near his salary.
I'd be shocked if they gave up anymore than the 6th
And even the cap space isn't a big deal since they just got the skins to take their unwanted trash
It's the Pats
I'd be shocked if they gave up anymore than the 6th
And even the cap space isn't a big deal since they just got the skins to take their unwanted trash
The Patriots are sending their 2017 fifth-round pick to the Browns in the Barkevious Mingo trade
Stork was due $700K. Mingo is due $5.2 million. Not comparable.
Since the Pats are taking on that salary, I would hope they didn't give up much.
Didn't they just trade chandler jones, a much better player, on a cheaper salary, a couple months back?
They did get a guard who supposedly has (or had?) elite potential and a 2nd round pick for him.
I think Jones is playing under the 5th year option this year
So his salary is 8 million fully guaranteed
And it was around the same time he got caught high as freak in a police station or whatever
Stork failed his medical at Washington and remains a Patriot for now.Bahaha
I wonder if they'll still trade for him once he can pass itWho would trade for him after he just failed a physical?
I hope not
I wonder if new England will just stash him on the PUP or release him with an injury settlement if it ultimately comes down to that decision
I wonder if they'll still trade for him once he can pass it
I hope not
I wonder if new England will just stash him on the PUP or release him with an injury settlement if it ultimately comes down to that decision
Who would trade for him after he just failed a physical?
He's not going to pass it, it's almost certainly concussion-related and he's probably going to have to retire.
Stork got waived
Does that mean the Pats will have to eat his salary and or possibly an injury settlement?
Who freaking cares3 solid honks
Patriots placed Vollmer on PUP/Reserve. Not expected to play this season. Brady might have picked a good year to have a few games off.
Would be better if he wasn't already missing time due to injury
Does the NFL do anything to make sure the suspension only counts when a player is healthy?
No real way to do that, teams would just take an injured and suspended player off the injured list in order to make the suspension kick in and then re-list him as injured after the suspension was finished. Bit like baseball clubs appealing a suspension until a player's due a rest day and then dropping the appeal.
Ian Rappoport just said on 660 that he expects the patriots defense to be "nasty". In talks with a few patriots fans in the past couple months they've issued similar opinions.
Based on what? How have they improved from last year? They traded Chandler Jones and Ninkovich is out for at least 4 weeks. Who else did they add? Chris long? Pretty sure they already cut Terrance knighton. Jamie Collins and Devin McCourty are really good, Malcolm butler and donta Hightower are above average, but I don't see a ton of talent on that defense. I can't name anyone on there DLine expect Malcom brown (if he's starting) and have no clue who their pass rushers or other safety are. Maybe I'm missing something.

Rob Gronkowski (questionable, hamstring) isn't expected to play Sunday night against the Cardinals.
Crappolol gon die
I overheard the same patriots fan I mentioned a few posts ago advising a co-worker that he should start Victor Cruz over John Brown because Brown has to go up against "that nasty Patriots secondary"
Also I had to Google him because who the freak knows who John Brown is
lolwut

You are a freaking idiot. Just keep that excrement to yourself next time rather than self promoting your stupidity.+1
This thread is putrid.
Eh, I don't know about that. David Johnson could become a top three back this year.
The Boston Herald reports the Patriots are "putting pressure" on Jimmy Garoppolo (shoulder) to be ready for Thursday's game, and have "(reminded) him Tom Brady played through a similar injury on multiple occasions throughout his career."
Per reporter Jeff Howe, Garoppolo is "still struggling to lift his right arm," so it continues to seem like his supposed up-in-the-air status is just a ruse. Garoppolo will be listed as "limited" again on Wednesday, but we'd be shocked if he started Thursday night's game against the Texans.
Julian Edelman - WR - Patriots
The Patriots "have done extensive preparation" this week to prepare Julian Edelman as the backup quarterback for Week 3 against the Texans.
Any of this excrement happens to any other team they'd be fucked, but the Pats will somehow manage to go fuckn 4-0 without Brady. Even 2-2 with Brady returning is such bullshit from a Jet fans point of view.
God I hate that franchise so much.
Garopollo officially listed as doubtful. I think this injury is more serious than the evil empire are saying. Lets hope the hapless Texans give the newbie roughing up.
Could be, or they could be bullshitting to get the other side to think that they'll be facing the third stringer and possibly Edelman. I don't believe anything that comes from that franchise.
That's not how a doubtful tag works.
Any of this excrement happens to any other team they'd be fucked, but the Pats will somehow manage to go fuckn 4-0 without Brady. Even 2-2 with Brady returning is such bullshit from a Jet fans point of view. The worst thing is that both the Jets and Patriots needed to survive opponents' 47-yard field goals with under a minute left in Week 1. Bengals made it, Cardinals missed it. You reverse those two kicks, and all of a sudden, the narratives flip on their face.
God I hate that franchise so much.
That's not how a doubtful tag works.
Brissett starting. Really don't want either team to win this.
In terms of the past two years, I guess is what I meant.
But frankly I think it's a little unlikely Johnson takes that big a leap this quickly. He's going to be good, but I don't think he's going to be a top five back in the league this season.
How you feeling about this now, Libero?
I think we should close all the lol threads until such time as the Jets aren't the most lol bad team in the NFLWe'll move all those threads into your sandbox so u can close them.

Hey, I have fond memories of those $1 bleacher seats in the late 80s/early 90s.
You won't be around for it because Brady is playing into his 70s.
#ThanksSatan

It will be just like the good old days of Shaeffer Stadium with the empty steel benches and Boston fans focusing on Saux Haut Stove all Autumn and Winter
I bet. I remember some late season Jet games in the Kotite days, my friend and I sat behind Fireman Ed and a few other diehards, parked up close and got right out. Terrible record but great for convenience.
That's what I'll never understand about the Knicks. Even when they were god awful (worse than now) prices were always astronomical.

Can only chalk that up to the Garden. There were some lean years late 70s/early 80s, before Bernard King and then Ewing. Once the league got so huge in the 90s and the Knicks were good, they've been a hot ticket ever since regardless. It's 2017, what intangible draw does the Garden still have?
Every Pats fan I have met in the last five years has been a Parts fan thru the Grogan years it's amazing.
an amazing bunch of bullshit.

I have seen easily three times as many Patriots hats this week as I do normally. They're all coming out of the woodwork for their one game of the year. Cunts.
Location Location Location
And occaisional visits from LeBron, Curry, etc.
Yeah, it's a great venue for taking clients out after work, and many of the big firms get all the good seats, which takes at least half the seats off the market. Then you have like 10,000 seats for metro area of about 20 million people who commute to Manhattan who would like to watch a game, plus tourists etc competing for seats, which drives the price up.
It's 2017, what intangible draw does the Garden still have?
Source tells me Butler & his camp remain extremely frustrated by Pats position & Gilmore signing. Courting offers elsewhere. Wants new home

"As recently as two to three days ago, (Brady) assured me he’s willing to play six, seven more years," were Kraft's exact words. Kraft added that he's hopeful Bill Belichick will "coach into his 80s."We need to draft the biggest scumbag pass rushers.

Since I turned 40 I've been in the best physical shape of my life. I'm a bit sloppy right now but I'll be back close to marathon fitness by the end of the year. Age is less important than how you treat yourself.
Obviously if you're a professional athlete there's a certain degree of attrition, but there's no logical reason that 40 should be some kind of arbitrary cutoff point.
A few people told me when I was younger: "Just wait till you hit 40. It's like falling off a cliff." I always took it as absolute bullshit from people who didn't take proper care of themselves.
Up through 39 I felt invincible like nothing was ever going to stop me. Even the facts that I throw my back once or twice a year ever since I was 19 and I've had terrible knees ever since my catching days as a kid never slowed me down.
Maybe a month after I turned 40 it felt like my body was completely betraying me. The last couple of years has sucked. I still feel like I can do anything, but I always pay for it after I try.
I'm sure Brady is in far better physical condition than me, but the human body can only defy Father Time for so long. It's highly unlikely he's got more than 3 years left, and probably only 2 at the same level he's been at.

Tom Brady strikes again.

No Rob Ninkovich on the field for the Pats for the second straight day. Belichick confirmed it's personal reasons. Said nothing further.
Rumour is that he's considering retirement. I honestly won't be sad to see the back of him, that fucker always seems to knock the excrement out of us.
He's now officially retiredGood. I'm sure someone will replace him that does the same excrement to the Jets but at least it won't be him.

Patriots fear DE Derek Rivers, their top draft choice this year, has suffered a season-ending knee injury, per @FieldYates and @MikeReiss.
Torn ACL and sprained LCL confirmed.
Hypothetical question: with Long, Jones and Sheard gone, Ninkovich retired and now Rivers going down for the season, they're pretty light at DE. Given they're going for it this season as there's a very real shot that this is Brady's last season in NE, would you consider trading them Sheldon? He's a free agent at the end of this season anyway so there's a chance he could end up in NE anyway, but by trading him to them now we'd get some kind of return for him in a year when we don't care about winning anyway.

It would benefit us for Brady to get slapped around and have a sh*tty year for once. Maybe he'll just say f*ck it I'm 40 and quit.

I would like us to kick the sh*t out of him a few times before he goes, like we did with Marino. It's only right.
It would really be great if we can somehow beat them at least once this year
We are finally at a point where the year he falls off is actually more than just a bunch of wishful thinking but I still remember when he wasn't doing well for the first four games a couple years ago and everyone was saying he was done. I think they won 2 Superbowl since that time.Definitely true but the guy is 40 now. People can praise him all they'd like but he's running on fumes now. No way he can play at a high level for 5 more years

Not that I root for injuries or anything, I'm asking for a friend.

I can only go by Marino--different guy 20 years ago--but when he went out it was reasonably quick. All of a sudden he wasn't drilling it in there anymore, it helped that we had our Parcells/Belichick D at the time, too.

Brady has been sacked more times so far this season than he was the whole of last season (acknowledging the fact that he missed the first four games for cheating).

Former Packers’ TE Martellus Bennett claimed on waivers by the New England Patriots, per source.
Just reported on @gmfb: The #Packers waived TE Martellus Bennett because of a torn rotator cuff, per sources. He may try to play through it, but if he cannot, the #Patriots could put him on Injured Reserve. No risk for them.
So Martellus Bennett is on Instagram whining about the Packers. He says they tried to get him to play through his injury and he found other opinions that said he should have surgery and he wanted surgery. But now he gets claimed by the Pats and he passed his physical and hasn't said a word about surgery. Hmmmmm.
I guess the prospect of playing with Brady vs Brett Hundley can make you have a change of heart. Sounds like he whined his way off a team with no QB.
Maybe Goodell will suspend Belichick next time.
Sports Illustrated – Bill Belichick’s joke about being thankful there was no earthquake while the Patriots were in Mexico City did not go over well with Mexicans.
“Players did a great job dealing with all the challenges that we had to deal with,” Belichick said on WEEI’s “Dale and Keith with Holley” radio show Monday afternoon. “I think we’re fortunate there was no volcano eruptions, earthquakes or anything else while we were down there. I mean you have two NFL franchises in an area that I don’t know how stable the geological plates that were below us [were], but nothing happened so that was good.”
It may read like a poor attempt at a joke, but the audio of the interview makes it clear Belichick was seriously concerned that the Patriots and Raiders were at risk of being caught in a dangerous earthquake.
More than 200 people were killed by an earthquake in Mexico City just two months ago. and quakes are fairly common in the city, including a 1985 disaster that killed at least 5,000. But earthquakes also affect many cities that NFL teams already call home.
Many Mexicans were quick to point out Belichick’s faulty logic that disasters can only befall a team on foreign soil.
“Outrageous ignorance of a ‘genius’ in the NFL,” Poncho Vera of ESPN Mexico wrote on Twitter.
"Dale and Keith with Holley"?
Couldn't pay me to listen to that.
Gronk suspended 1 game
I'd love to know what the length would be if someone did that Brady.Lifetime
Gronk suspended 1 game
One game suspension is bullshit. The fact that he intends to appeal it is disgusting. He should have received at least a two game suspension. This was right up there with the Suh head stomp.
@KirkandCallahan: Sources say the rift between Tom Brady and Bill Belichick is real and getting worse. We will tell you all about it tomorrow morning starting at 6. Don't miss it.
Brady doubts himself now. He was afraid of Jimmy Garoppolo being the better player.
This is amazing.
I refuse to believe anything will change until I see someone other than Brady at starting QB next year.
I refuse to believe anything will change until I see someone other than Brady at starting QB next year.
Because then he goes and blows it in Giants country while Brady dies in Boston and Kraft is left with nothing.
It sounds like Belichick will be gone before Brady, which is even worse for them.
Brady is on his last legs. Their medical staff apparently thinks so, which is probably the main reason why he's strapped himself to this Guerrero numbskull.
The job Belichick always supposedly wanted is currently open, and his two top assistants are both interview candidates for it. After reading that article, I would be surprised if Belichick doesn't join the Giants--and take McDaniels and Patricia with him if they don't get HC jobs elsewhere.
I'd love to see Brady without Belichick. I've given a lot of credit to the idea that Belichick would've been nothing without Brady all these years, but over the last couple of years, I've come to believe that it was a mutual thing.
I don't care either way whether Belichick would be successful with the Giants. But I'd absolutely love to watch Brady crash and burn in New England.
The empire has to crumble at some point, but it looks like this offseason could be a huge step along the way. With Patricia, McDaniel and Caserio all interviewing for jobs elsewhere and the long term future at QB traded away, it's hard to see how they keep things going for much longer.
Was unsure whether to put this in LOLpats or LOLgiants, but as it's the Pats I'd be LOLing at it can go here.

At first I thought that Belichick wouldn't consider it because he'd want to be GM too, but this article claims that he'd be fine with Gettleman.
On one hand, I'd love to see Pats fans in misery with a dead team. It would be like "Trading Places" when the Duke Brothers went from corporate execs to bums.
On the other hand, why couldn't it be some other team like Tampa Bay? Any other team besides the Giants. It might be worse if it's the Giants because that smug poopchute will be sharing a stadium with us. And their fans might be worse that the Pats fans.
I think I'd rather it just play out as is, which is what will likely happen anyway.

...at least he's the freak out of our division and in the NFC.
This would be the most important factor for me.This. Get over the Giants thing. Just get him out of the AFC. More than likely he will have a Browns career there without Brady.
I'd rather see him go to the Giants, kill them off and watch Brady collapse on his own in NE as Father Time catches up to him. They can each do some damage to their legacies separately before retiring.
And on the off chance Bellicheck is the second coming of God and drafts the next Brady at 2 and wins 3 titles in 5 years for the Giants, at least he's the freak out of our division and in the NFC.
None of this will happen.
#Patrriots coach Bill Belichick tells reporters he “absolutely” plans to coach New England next season.lol

Oh that is so sweet- thank you JE - some of the hard facts are a stretch but I've looked past that, printed it out and stuck it on my office wall so my colleagues now know why I hate anything to do with this lying cheating Organization.
It would be amazing to see Gronkowski quit football for an acting career and fall flat on his face, resulting in a concussion.
MMQB's Albert Breer believes "Rob Gronkowski’s rumblings about retirement are real."
According to Breer, Gronk has "been responsible with his finances," so walking away early is not as big of a financial concern as it might be for other players. Gronk is also a veritable star who reportedly is looking into an acting career once his playing days are finished. We still think it is likely Gronkowski returns in 2018, but considering the beating he takes each season and the options available to him, it is not surprising he is at least thinking about walking away.
Wow what a cuck.
Congratulations on being the first person on the internet to ever actually use that term correctly.
There's a rumour that the Patriots are interested in Manziel after he had conversations with them at A&M's pro day where he was throwing for the receivers. Not sure I like that at all; if he's stopped being a dick and grown up, there's still a potentially great player in there. He's still only 25.He's destined to be a tiger-cat

Two problems with that. Firstly, the $3.50 a year (CAD) he'd get playing in the CFL is pocket change to a kid who comes from Texas oil money, and secondly he'd have to live in Hamilton.
the thing is, he wants to play and doesn't need the money. I don't think he wants to carry a clipboard in NWE.
Being the backup in NE and the opportunity to potentially replace Brady when he finally dies is way more important for the ego and the public profile than being the starter in Hamilton. I'm willing to bet that 98% of NFL fans have never heard of Anthony Calvillo or Ricky Ray.Brady will live forever....are you new to this planet?
Requires me to subscribe and not log in. I am not going to do either of those things.Crap, I just cut and pasted it. Basically the Pats could trade Gronkowski.
Breaking: @KenLairdWEEI is reporting that Gronk is going to be traded in the next couple weeks.
I hope the Rams trade for Gronk and OBJ, get all excited, then have Goff get injured in the preseason. Then they can both suffer with Sean Mannion all season. Payback for being with their previous teams. Honestly, I wouldn't have hated Gronkowski that much if he weren't a Patriot. But he is, so freak him.
Or better yet, have them go to the Vikings and watch them miss the playoffs with Cousins, despite all the surrounding talent. Then have to continue paying him $28 million for 2 more seasons despite constant whining/diva behavior from OBJ.

BREAKING: @kirkmin is reporting that Rob Gronkowski will be traded before the start of the 2018 season.
Schefter: Patriots’ QB Tom Brady still has not committed to playing in 2018, even though people who know him believe he will back coming season, league sources told ESPN.
No way anything comes of this but still lol at the drama.
I'll believe it when i see it, and even then it will be tough to believe.
But for fun...let's say Bozo retires before the draft next week. Do the Patriots put a pkg together with their 2 1st rounders and attempt to move into the top 10 for a QB? or do they sit tight and pray for Lamar Jackson to fall into their laps.

FOXBOROUGH — The crowded field of candidates to replace left tackle Nate Solder was thinned Friday when the Patriots released second-year lineman Tony Garcia.
Garcia, who was drafted in the third round (85th overall) last year after the Patriots traded up to get him, missed his rookie season as he dealt with blood clots in his lungs. Garcia’s release came with a “failed physical” designation despite a recent social media post from the player proclaiming he was healthy.
“Just got cleared to play again!!! God is good,’’ Garcia wrote on Instagram March 20.
Garcia first reported to the Patriots at 6 feet 7 inches, 302 pounds, but was considerably thinner by the end of last season.
A first-team All-Sun Belt selection for Troy in 2016, Garcia started at left tackle for three straight seasons in college and didn’t allow a single sack in more than 900 snaps his senior season.
At the owners meetings in late March, Patriots coach Bill Belichick was asked for an update on Garcia and fellow third-rounder Derek Rivers, who missed his rookie campaign because of a torn ACL.
“They’re working hard and we’ll see how it goes,’’ the coach said. “When you come back from an injury, sometimes it’s a straight-line recovery, sometimes things go faster than expected, sometimes things go fast and then they slow down, then they pick back up again.
I don't think Belichick would cut a LT that could have a chance to help, but who knows. He's probably just a bad draft pick. I wouldn't expect much if we sign him. The list of Belichick castoffs that succeeded elsewhere isn't too long.
We should claim Garcia and let him battle for a roster spot.

If you stash the guy for a year and see how he comes back from illness it could be a worthwhile investment. The downside obviously is wasting a roster spot for a year as it sounds like he would do nothing this season but gain weight and get back in shapeIf it's a good investment, why didn't they keep him?

stash him for a year? That would be 2 out of football, yeah a stellar investment.
On rotoworld it says he was cleared to return to play football in March.Blood thinners and a heavy contact sport. Great combo.
Now dudes probably on all kinds of blood thinners and excrement, but that shouldn't stop him from playing football

You don't clot. So imagine getting dinged up. A simple bruise can become problematic for the player.Haveyou ever taken aspirin? It does the same thing just not at a dangerous level. I take a baby aspirin and get bruises when I never used to.
Yeah, after my father had a stroke, he was on Coumadin the rest of his life. He worked in construction and always had to be careful of cutting himself. It's basically like making yourself a hemophiliac to prevent clots from plugging up your arteries. A "simple" cut could make you bleed out.
Bleeding out is on the extreme end but is possible. For a professional athlete blood thinners are a non starter in any sport. Can you imagine a muscle tear?
I don't think he'd be allowed to play a sport like football if he was still on blood thinners, that's just insaneMakes sense. Who knows what caused his or what meds he's on.
typically anybody that develops a clot requires treatment with a blood thinner for 3-6 months and that should be okay. if they have recurrence of clots, if they continue to have 'unprovoked' clots or if they have disorders that make them prone to clots, they may have to be anticoagulated for life. but if it's a 'provoked' clot, treatment typically ranges from 3-6 months.
alio, i'm guessing your father was on coumadin after he had a stroke because they found the cause of the stroke to be a cardioembolic clot in origin from an irregular heart rhythm. otherwise, the time you'd use a blood thinner for an ischemic stroke would be within the 3-4.5 hour window after the patient first started developing symptoms
anyhow, if this guy is playing football again then i highly doubt he is on any blood thinners. he's probably completed his treatment course already
Heavy rumors going around that Gronk won't be on the Pats by the end of the day.

More evidence of why you trade picks for players that you know can help you, and not the other way around. (Revis)
If you understood how a salary cap worked, you would stop rehashing this nonsense.
I understood he was signed for $6 million without the option of holding out. Wonder what Dee Milliner is up to.
I'm not getting into this again. You were wrong then, and you're still wrong today.
That's always your answer because you have no answer and at this point you never will.
At least we went on to win a Super Bowl and Revis didn't. Oh.
it's my answer NOW, because i've explained it to you numerous times. In fact, half the board explained it to you.
More evidence of why you trade picks for players that you know can help you, and not the other way around. (Revis)
Half the board was freaking wrong. Sorry.Amazing...you still don’t get it.
Everyone thinks they're a draft guru and these picks are gold, they aren't, which was my point here in the first place. Professionals who have spent their lives in football miss on half their picks if not more, even the great Belichick. A known quantity who is a good player, or Hall of Famer for example, is better than an unknown. That fact that more people here still don't realize that isn't my problem.
Now I don't know every one of those players situations, but that many rookies on IR? Either they're having horrible luck, or the Patriots are basically cheating and exaggerating injuries to essentially red shirt all their rookies to load up the roster with guys who can contribute now while those guys are stashed for the future. This was my gut reaction too.
This was my gut reaction too.
Five years ago it might have been, but without Brady the Patriots basically have no future and some fifth round schmuck DB isn't going to be the difference maker.
It's not about the future, it's about stashing the future players so they can fill up the roster with win now plug and play guys to bandage all the holes on that team.
Instead of 5 rookies you'll have 5 guys who can come in for the vet minimum and teach the youngin while filling in gaps
I understood your point, but it doesn't change mine which is that if he was actually any good at drafting he'd be starting the young players to make his team better. If your draftees are worse than a bunch of JAGs playing for vet minimum you are excrement at drafting.

Weed is pretty mild, just saying.
Also, freak the Patriots.
Pats are getting two 3rd round comp picks for Malcolm butler and Nate solder
The Rams get a 3rd rounder for letting us sign Trumaine Johnson.
So do we lose a 3rd rounder? Because we'd probably just draft another shitty CB with it, so it's probably a wash.

facebook and instagram are much, much worse than twitter. it's no contest
Nah. FB is not by definition anonymous, while IG is predicated more upon vanity. Twitter is specifically designed to allow anyone to say the most heinous and stupid things they can dredge from the bottom of their sordid, revolting little minds while hiding behind a veil of complete anonymity.
Twitter is the digital embodiment and enabler of everything that's wrong with current society.

You guys realize that both of you are correct, right?
I've never tweeted once, but I do use it to follow a crap-ton of various beat writers, NFL and MLB. It's a remarkable source for news, if you're even mildly discerning.
I also know that reading the responses below tweets, or following random sports fans, or celebrities, or wannabe celebrity news reporters, or pretty much most humans on Twitter who are convinced that mankind is as interested in their opinions as they are themselves (and keep in mind that most people actually have pride in how uninformed their opinions are....the faster your brain shits out a thought, the faster you should share it!).
Like I said before, it's a goddamn cesspool of extra chromosomes for the most part.
I replaced TGG with Twitter. I only came to YDKF because you told me I should.
So yeah, this is your fault.
The thing about Twitter is that it takes careful cultivation of your timeline to be useful. I had a lot of crap in my stream until I started unfollowing/muting people who were making my feed a cesspool.
I follow a bunch of sports-related people (like Schefter and Yankees/Jets beat writers), a few media people whose opinions I trust (Soledad O'Brien is one of the best), bands I like, and gamers who have like interests to me.
There's a ton of garbage on Twitter, but there's a lot of quality content too. You just have to actively manage what you consume.
100% agree.
Twitter is a must-use tool for every sports team or anyone involved in news or entertainment to keep people up-to-date conveniently.
It's also a tool for countless millions to share their hate and idiocy and prideful ignorance to their 19 followers.
Like you said, the quality of speedy and accurate info is unmatched if you take the time to follow the right accounts.
Haha, i know right?
Actually, the nyjets subreddit is surprisingly not as terrible as you might think. Better than the majority of Jets messageboards imo (not that I'm an expert).
Anything that appears on Twitter is on /r/hockey or /r/nfl or /r/baseball or /r/nba within seconds, but without me having to curate anything.

But reddit is arguably an equal cesspool of idiocy, hate, misinformation, etc.
Comments under anything on any site or format are usually a hilarious shitshow.
That's definitely true, although at least replies in the major sports subs are moderated fairly strictly to keep the trolls at bay, and just as importantly it's possible to actual have discussion involving long words and multiple sentences to make your point. Twitter gives you the information, but Reddit enables you to discuss it.

Patriots placed K Stephen Gostkowski on injured reserve.
Gostkowski's the fourth player New England's moved to injured reserve this season, joining N'Keal Harry, James Develin and Isaiah Wynn. This could also explain why Gostkowski's struggled in sinking just 11-of-15 extra points on the year. It remains unclear who'll be kicking for the Patriots against Washington on Sunday, but the team did host several free agents to fill Gostkowski's void at Wednesday's practice. The 35-year-old's attempted every kick for the Patriots over the past eight seasons.

Patriots IRed Josh Gordon but he says his knee injury is minor and wants to sign with another team
I'd absolutely be interested in putting in a waiver claim on him. Give him a half a year of an audition and also give us some depth in case they actually get a good offer for Anderson.
Unfortunately, he won't be available until after Robby would have to be traded. And Miami would have first crack so it would be bad business to rely on a waiver claim when making the decision to trade Anderson. He'll be back on drugs 5 minutes after he signs Can't blame him.
That said, I agree. Put in a claim and see if he can be a factor for Darnold in half a season.

Foles is an obvious fit. I can't see Belicheck pinning his hopes on Eli.
I also still give TB a 90% shot at returning though.
And if that happens I can absolutely see them taking a flier on Mariota as a reclamation project to back him up.
I would hate this so much.As much as it would kill me I wouldn't mind seeing this happen. I'd rather see fitz win a ship than tom brady
I'd like the see Brady to go another team and finish 3-13.
Browns? Get the freak out of here
With the rumors McDaniels could go there, having two elite wideouts, a great defense and some very good running backs. The only thing they'd need is to desperately get an OL. Mayfield complicates this a ton, but McDaniels makes it at least feasible. Hell if AB really follows him, that's a freaking squad. And the only thing Brady is good for these days is negating a bad OLAnd then what? Throw out their current franchise QB for a 43 year old Brady rental?
The Rams are probably the most logical sicne everyone talks about him wanting to go back to California. Though who the freak would want to go play in that division.
And then what? Throw out their current franchise QB for a 43 year old Brady rental? They should trade Baker while he still has value
And then what? Throw out their current franchise QB for a 43 year old Brady rental?
Bench him for a year. That was one beat reporter's harebrained idea.
I recall the Jets wanting to bench their franchise QB for Peyton Manning not too long ago.
That was one beat reporter's harebrained idea.
And the Jets gave him an apology contract because?Apology contract was an unsubstantiated narrative. It was a gamble extension of what he was already getting paid as an old-CBA high pick QB. It had little/no guaranteed money in the years past his original rookie deal and didn't keep him on the team any longer than he would have been without the extension. Had Sanchez progressed and taken the next step up in performance it would have probably saved us money.
The Jets were legit interested in Peyton, and absolutely should have been
Mayfield / Brady swap deal. Can't decide if I think that's the best idea in the world or the worst.
Mayfield / Brady swap deal. Can't decide if I think that's the best idea in the world or the worst.
brady's all vague about his plans next year because he loves the attention
there's no way an old guy like him who's been with one coach his whole career and knows his current system inside out would ever decide to uproot all that and start somewhere new from scratch at 75 years old
this isn't even factoring that he wants to focus more on family and a new place would mean he's either uprooting the lives of his family/kids or spending the large part of the year living away from them like mccown does

The Patriots announce that WR Julian Edelman is their 2019 Ed Block Courage Award recipient. The honor is bestowed annually upon a player who "best exemplifies the principles of courage and sportsmanship while also serving as a source of inspiration."
I forgot how much fun the playoffs are without the Patriots.Seriously, there's not an outcome that would pee me off. It's nice.

Thank you sweet Jesus. Tired of this fucker turning rejects into hall of famers.
Where did Rivers go? What did I miss? The Chargers are not going to keep him, reportedly. And he has a house in Florida or something.
The Chargers are not going to keep him, reportedly. And he has a house in Florida or something.
Wow. I thought I saw him saying he wanted to keep playing. Do the Chargers have a young guy or a high pick? If not they'll be hard pressed to find a better QB.Maybe Kellen Clemens is available.
People keep saying that New England makes the most sense "from a football standpoint."
How?
They have no tackles, their best guard is about to hit free agency, their pro bowl center is coming back from a year off from blood clots and they have one of the worst receiving cores in the league.
The Raiders as constituted (especially if they add another receiver in the first round) have the better offense for him to just walk in and take over.
The Chargers would kick derriere with Tom Brady.Hunter henry is a free agent which means they have no white skill players
Austin Ekeler
Hunter Henry (if he stays healthy)
Mike Williams

I'd take the less talented team with him
Not to mention the the chargers and Raiders are in the same division as the best team in football.
Go beg the Rams, 49ers, to sign you for you a huge discount.
Or go to the Bears. Maybe the Titans are willing to consider him
I think the Chargers or Raiders are horrible ideas. Why you'd leave a team almost guaranteed to win its division, to go to a team where you're likely to lose your division makes no sense

The Pats have $41 million in cap space
And the following players are free agents:It isn't great, but he has options to make another run with Bardy. May not be smart, but it's doable. $7 million of Brady's money is still on the books. They have 12 draft picks. They can extend players to push money down the road. They can backload Brady's contract.
Brady
McCourty
Thuney
Van Noy
Collins
Dorsett
Slater
Shelton
Newhouse
Among others. They're in a freaking mess, frankly. There's no "mortgage the future for two more years of a run", they already did that and now the mortgage is due.
Surprised the Colts aren't in play. They seem like they're a good QB away from a serious run but maybe they're all in on nabbing Rivers.

You can always mortgage forward
Give Brady a 5 year contract
Trade draft picks
They have all kinds of options
Trade draft picks for what? More players they can't afford to pay?I agree it's what they should do. I just refuse to believe it.
They're already facing a bit lump of dead cap from Brady's last deal - if he hits FA then they take $13M, even if he subsequently re-signs. If he re-signs with them prior to FA, which seems unlikely at this stage, it's $6.5M. They have a massive cap crunch, and Brady makes it worse.
They've wrestled with the problem of how to move on from Brady for a few years. Now he's making it easy for them, there's a whole bunch of QB options in the market this year and giving a 42 year old $30M isn't a good one.

I think the Brady move to the Chargers is to sell tickets/fans for their LA move. I don’t think he really helps their team but they desperately need a PR push for that new stadium. Do you see who has the second hardest?

Sources: Retired #Patriots TE Rob Gronkowski has told New England that he’s interested in playing football again — and would want to do it with the #Bucs and QB Tom Brady. A trade would have to be worked out for this to happen.
FFS
Of course new England will end up getting significant trade compensation for a freaking retired player
Even though it is amusing Brady and Gronk both wanted to get the freak away from BB
Bucs will probably ship OJ Howard to NE for Gronk
He's one of the best tight ends ever and seems to be healthy. He's most likely worth whatever Tampa Bay trades for him.
there's a suggestion they'll swap 1st rounders....pats would move up to 14, Bucs move back to 23 and get gronk.
it's all hearsay right now.
Oh I'm not arguing that he's not worth it (he's probably not, I'm sure he will likely only play 1 or 2 seasons until Brady retires)
It's rather that the dudes going to freaking unretire and the Patriots will get significantly compensated for it that pissed me off
Daniel Jeremiah said that. That's stupid.
Tampa Bay would be retarded to do that. They have all the leverage. Gronk only wants to play with Brady.

They'll get a worse player in return and maybe a mid-round draft pick.
He may be healthy, but last I saw him he looked like he'd dropped 40 lbs.
Except it's not getting a worse player. Gronk is retired.

Trade, pending physical: Patriots are trading TE Rob Gronkowski and a seventh-round pick to the Buccaneers for a fourth-round pick, source tells ESPN.
Reports are he's been packing on weight preparing for a return
If he wanted to come back and play for the Patriots* we should actually care.
He is out in the open saying he no longer wants to play for that organization and that he'd prefer to play for Brady.
It's a slap in the face for their franchise and Bill Belichick.
I don't really give a excrement what they get in return. They can't draft and they no longer have Brady to bail them out.
LMAO
TB (Tom Brady and Tampa Bay) had the leverage
more ammo for the pats is never good. But thats a crazy move for the Bucs to pull off. Have to imagine they unload O.J. Howard for something in the next 2 days now.
Not convinced. Gronkowski is high risk / high ceiling player at this stage, I'm pretty sure that Arians can find ways to use all three if Gronk works out and if he doesn't then they're going to want Howard and Brate both available for Brady.
Damn I wish the Bucs played the Pats this year.

He is the greatest tight end of all time, no question
Um, what?
He's not really even close to being that. I would take Tony Gonzalez every single time and that has nothing to do with being a Patriot hater. Gonzalez was a better receiver with far superior stats on worse teams for longer; about the only area in which Gronkowksi was better than him is his blocking.
Gonzales may be the best receiving tight end ever, but he also played 17 seasons to build up those statistics.
Gronk has only played 9 so far.
If I was building a team from the ground up and both players were in their prime, I'd take Gronk because of his blocking ability.
Trent Green was really good
I think his point was if you gave Gronk the same QBs, and same talent that Gonzales had around him, he wouldn't have appeared nearly as dominant as he did in New England
Trent Green was really good
I always wonder how his career and that Rams team would have shaken out had he not been injured and opened the way for Kurt Warner.
Trent Green was really good

Calling Rob Gronkowski the greatest tight end of all time is like calling Darrelle Revis the greatest cornerback of all time. Better than anyone in their prime, but too brief a prime.
There's a reason why the average #1 tight end makes way less money than a top corner or wideoutAnd why is that?
I am thoroughly enjoying the response to the Patriots drafting a literal Nazi. (Yes, mj, I know, it's hyperbole, settle down.)

Pats* put a second round tender on JC JacksonHow does this work - When does JD need to submit an offer by?
Douglas better be drawing up that contract now
How does this work - When does JD need to submit an offer by?
i believe it's the normal FA period, but gives the Pats the option to match or take the compensation.
we'd likely need to include some kind of "poison pill", if those even exist anymore.
No Offer Sheet may contain a Principal Term that would create rights or obligations for the Old Club that differ in any way (including but not limited to the amount of compensation that would be paid, the circumstances in which compensation would be guaranteed, or the circumstances in which other contractual rights would or would not vest) from the rights or obligations that such Principal Term would create for the Club extending the Offer Sheet (i.e., no 'poison pills').
Not allowed to use poison pills any more. From the current CBA:
I only know because I looked this up yesterday as a result of a separate conversation.
Pretty sure it was the Hutchinson contract that killed poison pills.
That and the revenge tender with Nate Burleson, which fully guaranteed his contract if he played 4 games in the state of Minnesota.
Then again, Belichick may see us as a good 2nd round pick to have since we usually suck and pick high. I'm assuming it's a 2022 2nd rounder, right?

Dollars to donuts he signs a one year deal in Tampa.
Julian Edelman never even had a season in which he led white guys in receiving yards.
If Hines Ward or Wes Welker aren't hall of famers, Edelman isn't.
freaking Wayne Chrebet had more yards and TDs.
Edelman has three rings, which is three more than Welker and Chrebet combined. That makes a difference for Canton.
Ward is a better comparison, but he's also a massive queynte who made a career out of being a cheap shithead. I can well imagine there are plenty of voters not inclined to give him anything.
Plenty of guys that played for the Patriots have 3 rings, or more. Is their long snapper a lock for the HOF just because he rode Tom Brady’s coattails?
Troy Brown had very similar stats and 3 SB rings but he never sniffed the HOF conversation. Rightfully so.
Edelman has 6,800 yards and 36 TDs career.Holt should be in.
Tory Holt has 13,000 yards and 74 TDs career and is not in the HOF.
Stephen Hill- 594 yds, 4 TD. HOF.

NBC Sports Boston's Michael Holley reports Julio Jones wants to play for the Patriots.
"You know who (Jones) really wants to play with? He wants to play with Cam Newton," Holley said in a TV appearance. Jones also reportedly thinks Falcons QB Matt Ryan has "lost a little zing on his deep ball." The Julio trade rumors have started to heat up with Atlanta needing cap room to sign their draft picks. The Patriots, who acquired Mohamed Sanu from the Falcons for a second-rounder in 2019 and have a history of trading for veteran receivers, are one of the teams that could fit his $15.3 million base salary. The Chargers, 49ers, Raiders, and Colts have also been linked as possible Julio landing spots.

So after 2 preseason games Mac Jones has a lower comp %, no TDs, lower YPC, lower YPA and PFF gives him a 95 compared to Zach's 80.
PFF gave Wilson an 80% for yesterday’s game, right?Being a Jet
What did they give him negatives for?
Sounds like Newton is unvaccinated. I realise he's long since made enough money to be able to retire whenever he wants to, but if he wants to keep playing football in New England with a high pick supposedly impressing in TC, you'd think he would be making a business decision right about now.
PFF gave Wilson an 80% for yesterday’s game, right?Beats me Heismeister
What did they give him negatives for?
"Wilson is coming off an 80.5-graded performance against the Green Bay Packers. he popped off a couple of big-time throws, one coming courtesy of a stellar off-platform throw that flashed us back to his time at BYU.
Jones is fresh off a 93.4-graded outing against the Philadelphia Eagles, which continued his streak of the same clean, efficient play that helped Alabama to a National Championship.
The Pats' rookie signal-caller ranks first among all quarterbacks in uncatchable and negatively graded throw rate so far this preseason."
13 of 19 for 146 yards with 0 TDs and 0 INTsZach Wilson loses PFF points for not walking like a fat lady at TJ Maxx.

Gilmore headed to the Pats for a sixth.
Now try again.Belichick 4D chess, trades self own CB, is awarded 3rd round comp pick

They just spent an absolute fuckton in FA after missing the playoffs for the first time since forever. They are not tanking.I know, just bullshitting. But if they are tanking, they will be the smartest genius tank team in the NFL. Only Belichick could come up with such a brilliant scheme.

When Belichick has a first round pick, he's like a dungeons & dragons nerd with an exotic supermodel in his bed. He just doesn't know what to do and messes it up.
I'm sure Strange will be a starter and do ok, but there was no need to take him in the first. They should have just traded down until the second round, even if the deals weren't good. The rumour is that Shanahan wanted him.
The rumour is that Shanahan wanted him.
It is wild how the Patriots have underwhelming drafts seemingly every year, but it has never punished them because of Brady for so long.
Even without Brady, the suckage has yet to begin. Hopefully, the suckage starts soon. Last year, the free agency class kind of kept them propped up.
The rumour is that Shanahan wanted him.
i also think we'll see that interest FA's have in the patriots still truly comes from brady's legacy/accomplishments rather than any truth in the 'patriot way/belichick genius' beliefAnd if you look at big free agent classes, historically they have done great in Year 1 and then fell apart in Year 2. We've seen this with the Jets, but it's also been league-wide.
Because he said he was a good player in a press conference?Yes, I'm not trying to justify the pick but there is now some attempt at retconning it.
McVay laughed and said they were hoping to get him at 104.
It was a horrendous reach.
Yes, I'm not trying to justify the pick but there is now some attempt at retconning it.
Yes, I'm not trying to justify the pick but there is now some attempt at retconning it.The revisionist history is that people say McVay was making fun of himself for thinking he might be there at 104.
Belichick gets derided almost yearly for his drafting and I don't ever seem to recall these picks ever being the downfall of the team or a source of a major setback for them.
The biggest factor in their success and their eventual downfall was always Brady, though so let's see what happens.
Far be it from me to defend the Pats but I recall some people thinking Travis Frederick being an out of left field pick for the Cowboys and he stuck around as a quality starter.

on the Patriots' offensive play-calling. No decision yet from Bill Belichick. It may come down to a competition of sorts during training camp. The top candidates are Matt Patricia and Joe Judge.
Boston Sports Journal's Greg Bedard reports there's a "high-level of concern" about what's going on with the Patriots' offense.
Patriots players have been "alarmed" with what they've seen from the team's offensive coaching staff and lack of direction on offense, according to Bedard. The Patriots haven't named an offensive coordinator since Josh McDaniels' departure, with the expectation Joe Judge or ex-Lions HC Matt Patricia will be the offensive play caller. Neither coach is known for offense. Judge's background is in special teams while Patricia's is in defense. Judge, a former college quarterback that spent 2019 as the Patriots' WR coach, is the likely favorite for the role. Judge said at the team's minicamp he plans to work closely with second-year QB Mac Jones
James White retired.....good riddanceBadger legend but yeah I hated what he did for NE.

Mike Pennel just blasted David Andrews. Once a Jet, always a Jet.
Now a couple of games into Year 2, you're booing him? For Bailey Zappe? It would be like if Jets fans booed Wilson because we wanted Mike White.
Honestly, after taking the temperature of the fan base the last couple days, I don't think we're that far away from something that dumb.
The difference is we don't have another young QB option. Our backups are White and Flacco, and I don't think anyone thinks either of them can be the long-term answer. Maybe some people still believe in White, but I doubt it.

Zach Wilson got destroyed for saying "no" but Mac will probably be labeled a competitor.
Everyone seemed to be on Quinnen’s side when he was yelling at the defensive staff after that 0 coverage blitz that went for a TD in the beginning of the season.
FTR Mac Jones is a whiney prick.
Yelling at your co-ordinator during a game about what's not working is not the same as refusing to accept responsibility for your own ghastly failures afterwards.
Mac Jones can only throw quick game, so him being upset about someone calling quick game is ridiculous.
Sure. I'm not defending Jones, I'm saying that comparing this to Zach's post game immaturity isn't reasonable.
Mac Jones, QB, New England Patriots
Mac Jones completed 22-of-36 passes for 195 yards and one touchdown in the Patriots' 24-10, Week 13 loss to the Bills.
In one of the most bizarre plays of the season, Jones managed a 48-yard first quarter touchdown on a quick screen to rookie DB Marcus Jones, who was playing his first ever snap on offense. Beyond that — and Marcus did all the work on the play — Mac was absolutely atrocious as he averaged just 5.4 yards per attempt and displayed egregiously poor ball placement. Jones got his pass catchers rocked with a number of hospital(ish) balls and would have thrown a pick if not for the NFL's ever-confusing catch rules. As is so often the case, Jones couldn't drive the ball or hit anyone between the numbers. His supporting cast isn't great, but there are enough people to make plays. Jones never puts them in position to do so. It's not quite Zach Wilson level, but it is getting tedious for the second-year starter. A road trip to Arizona is on tap for Week 14.
fraud derriere fvckin head coach (he's obviously good and in the upper tier as far as history goes, but far from the GOAT) only has like one playoff win in 9 seasons without tom brady as quarterback

League is reviewing an illegal hit by Mac Jones. As well as being a little bitch he's dirty as freak, between this (which was clearly illegal given it was below the waist, from the side, and he was playing on defense as the ball was being returned after a turnover which means it wasn't a block in the first place) and at least two incidents of kicking defenders while sliding he's well on his way to becoming a very unpopular player.
Patriots fans seem to not be fans either.
Ankle-twisting, as well.

I've got to think that an atypically dirty quarterback is a problem that will be solved by the league's defensive linemen. Micheal Clemons could possibly provide a solution.
DCs should be scheming ways to chase him out of the pocket and make him a runner.
First priority is win the game. Mac Jones isn’t a very good QB and teams are scheming to beat the Pats, which most teams aren’t finding all that hard. If it wasn’t for our atrocious QB play, it’s quite possible the Pats are 6-9 or 5-10 right now.
Knocking Mac Jones out, isn’t beneficial, just a nice bonus.

Much like Zach, Jones has shown to be a backup level QB at best right now. Why trade anything of value for him? He has zero high upside athletic potential and it’s not like you are paying him backup money.
Only guy that might bite is Josh McDaniels because I’m sure he was the reason the Pats drafted Jones to begin with.
I can't stand McCorkle...but in his defense, Belichick fucked him over last year by giving him Patricia (OC) and Judge (QB coach).
He also kept threatening to put Bailey Zappe in. Charmin soft mental toughness.

I'm sure a lot of it is funny money, but I thought this was a fake account when I saw the contract.
NBC Sports’ Tom Curran reports Patriots head coach Bill Belichick is “on the hot seat” entering the 2023 season.
Curran added that Belichick has been on the hot seat to varying degrees since 2019, when Tom Brady was primed to leave the Patriots after the team bucked at Brady’s contract demands. Belichick has since made a series of disastrous hires, including putting Matt Patricia and Joe Judge in charge of the New England offense in 2022. That there was “no plan for replacement” for Josh McDaniels, Curran said, rubbed owner Robert Kraft the wrong way. Kraft “wants results, and he’s not getting them,” Curran added. Belichick, 71, will need a 2023 revival with Bill O’Brien heading the team’s offense. Another subpar campaign could mark the end of the historic Belichick era in New England.
I don't mind Belichick being there. Every year proves a little more that all those titles were completely the work of Brady. Belichick is the same clown he was in Cleveland. I'd rather he stick around a few more years than Kraft luck into another good situation.
Does it tarnish his legacy ever so slightly sure.
But it's pretty apparent that BB has been superb at getting the most out of no name players (you can partly blame the Pats being excrement in the draft) and excellent at defense special teams, and winning the turnover battle. The Pats could be competitive if they win the lottery by somehow landing a QB thst can carry the offense completely on his own.
We all hate BB but the dudes always been among the best ever at all other aspects of the game. I'd rather see them go through the same coaching dumpster carousel that all bad teams go through rather than have BB stick around another 10 years
Plus the rumors are that Kraft has been overpaying Jarod Mayo grooming him to be the heir apparent. I'm pretty sure every AFC east fan would rather have Mayo leading the Pats than BB
Nobody's arguing BB is a good person or that his offense hasn't been putrid without Brady. And this isn't an argument about his legacy
My point is nobody should prefer BB in our division over Mayo/Gase/ or whatever fat slob wants to be BBs successor. Because ti's pretty apparent of what he's good and not good at at this point. And somewhat simplified but the dudes very good at everything other than scoring points with his offense.

There's been a lot of talk on #Patriots Bill Belichick staying on long enough to pass Don Shula for the All-Time win mark, but he's actually a lot closer to having the all-time losing mark in NFL history.
Belichick is now 8 losses away from losing 165 regular season games which will tie the record by Jeff Fisher and Dan Reeves.
The Pats are 1-5 this season with the #Bills and #Dolphins coming up the next two weeks, there's a chance he'll lose all 8 of those games this season considering how badly Belichick has been this season.
This just shows you how much Tom Brady covered up for Belichick's many weakness.
With Brady, Belichick's career record is 219-64.
Without Brady, Belichick's career record is 80-93.

belichick is a queynte of a human being and a very overrated coach imo, but it would still be very characteristic of this POS organization to give their winningest coach ever an unceremonious mid-season firing, and because it would be happening to belichick i would not give a excrement that he was being absolutely shat on. would be two wins.
One of the things that has characterised Belichick's career is an absolute ruthlessness when it comes to personnel, and a willingness to cut or trade any player whose usefulness is or will shortly be spent regardless of their history with or love for the club. It would seem appropriate if he were to meet a similar end.

The one thing keeping me from going over the ledge this season is enjoying Patriot misery. I actually need them to win a couple games to get just out of reach of a QB.
they might beat us.I'm not willing to consider this.
I'm not willing to consider this.Neither did the Penn St. players when Sandusky showed up in their shower room carrying a rubber ducky.
they might beat us.

REPORT: #Patriots QB Mac Jones has "Lost the locker room", according to @_AndrewCallahan
A team source said in the report that the locker room is 80-20 out on Mac Jones.
Another source said the vast majority of players are "Done with him."
Both sources said the lack of belief spreads to throughout both the offense side of the team and the defensive side.
There's a "shared sense that Jones’ worst mistakes negate the best efforts of his teammates."

looool
Honestly he might be the perfect QB for the Pats in my mind. Douchebag, dirty player who is regressing. Hopefully they keep playing him until he cries on the sideline when O'Brien yells at him again. Closeups of the tears with split screens of all his dirty punches and hits. Maybe a little "I wiiiiil remeeeeember yooooouuuu"

TRENDING: NFL Hall of Famer Warren Sapp trashes #Patriots Bill Belichick: "Tom Brady is the reason why you're Bill Belichick. That's who you owe that to."
"All that Patriot way s--t is out the window. You can't go recreate it somewhere else."
Sapp added: "It's time to go to the couch, the game is over."
The Patriots are 2-8 this season under Belichick, who is a career losing coach without Tom Brady over a large 11-season sample size.

How many times can you bench the same QB and then let him play the next week? It's almost like you can bench a bad quarterback when he sucks and still put him in a future game if you think he's better than the alternatives. Which the Jets might have to do.
