Ian Rapoport @RapSheet
Sources: The #Ravens are expected to trade safety Chuck Clark to the #Jets in exchange for late-round draft pick compensation. The starter since 2019, Clark now adds veteran experience to NYJ. It should be official when the league year begins.

Really good player
-
Good move. We needed someone to replace Joyner.
-
Really good player
Why are the Ravens giving him up for not much?

They don't have any money
-
2024 7th apparently. So they really did just want him off the books.
-
They don't have any money
Don't know anything about how good he is
But unless they're replacing him with a late round rookie I can't imagine this being cap fueled
-
Wouldn't be surprised to see him play some will this year
-
Clark is a stud...
I wonder if this takes Branch off our list at 13
-
*6'0, 205lbs
*27 Years old
*Durable: played every game last 3 years <---- this is what i like
*Cap hit of $4M in '23
*Listed as a "strong safety" but could hold up in the deep middle
*Could play next to Whitehead or be a replacement if if JW is a cap casualty.

Hope so. 13 should be reserved for a tackle (or JSN).

I’d assume this is entirely about getting Hamilton and Marcus Williams on the field full time.
I’m shocked they couldn’t get more than a 2024 7. But hell of a deal for us when we need reliable safety play for cheap

lol @ IDL

Verdict from Ravens fans appears to be that he's smart and a very good tackler, but not all that athletic and has the worst hands you've ever seen on a DB. So basically keep him as close to the box as possible, because the deeper he goes the more exposed he'll be.

one year left on his deal and I think he requested a trade when they picked Kyle Hamilton

He's a solid third safety at the very least

Anything that pushes Ashtyn Davis down the depth chart is fine with me.
-
lol @ IDL
Chuck and Quinnen will be the best IDL in the league

This is probably the end for Ashtyn Davis.

Hope so. Wasn't dying to take another DB in round 1.
This is a very good move to fill in that hole next to Whitehead. Only way Branch comes is if we move on from Whitehead, which I don't think we will do yet.

By his versatility I assume he can play ST?

It should

This is a solid piece of business by Douglas
-
I'd still be in the market for Jessie Bates.

I think we gotta figure out Rodgers renegotiation and his short list of players he wants
I'd take bates in a heartbeat but wonder what the price will be
I'd want to just sign Edmunds and let Quincy and Kwon walk
-

we have to be very careful with Quincy Williams
-
we have to be very careful with Quincy Williams
I'd pay him up to 6 or 7 per yr.
We can't low ball him just as a sign of good faith to Q
But if he wants 10+ he can freak off lol
-
If Q is down to get 22 per for 3 or 4 yrs then one last big lay day we can overpay slightly for Quincy

Didn't realize Whitehead saves us so much money. Maybe we will just cut him. Not sure his play was worth $7.2M, especially when Clark is cheaper for us.

Solid is an understatement. I’d call this a chance to be the best non Jamal Adams trade he’s ever made. If Clark starts for us for 2 years (which would require a resign) that’s insane value for a 7th round selection. Imagine if he plays out 2 contracts with us? (Which you have to suspect the FO expects to be the case when making the move)
-
This is probably the end for Ashtyn Davis.
They said the same thing about Rontez Miles and look at him now
-
Love the move . Safety depth or whiteheads replacement or Ashton Davis either way
These are no Brainers for a 7th . Perfect stop gap stuff
-
Douglas really does not believe in 7th round picks (he's traded every one).
-
It's a good way to use your relationships. Douglas finds out the Ravens are going to cut Clark, but the Jets would gladly take him on that salary, so you throw them a draft pick in exchange for directing him to you.
-

Is he in Dune 2?
-
Can i call him "Chunt"?

Neither do I. I'll take a proven commodity at that point
You literally have similar odds to land the same impact in UDFA

Oh, I agree with the philosophy. I just find it interesting that we haven't made a single 7th round draft choice in his tenure.
-
Our last 7th round pick was Charone Peake (and Lachlan Edwards in the same draft)
-
Is it weird that we haven't gotten official word on his injury?

he's getting a second opinion, which is typically never a good thing
maybe he'll have an injury similar to Zach's
