Nick Harris fits the mold of the type of linemen Douglas seems to be targeting.
A bit undersized, but versatile and a great fit in the zone scheme.
Someone like Danny Pitter, who is one of the more athletic linemen in the draft, fits that as well.
I really think he trusts his ability to scout value when it comes to offensive linemen. Obviously, if he's coming from Ozzie Newsome's tree, he believes in Best Player Available. He won't draft because of need. He's tried to create tons of flexibility with the roster early on.
Wouldn't be shocked to see him load up on premium positions (WR, EDGE, and CB) early in the draft and then sift through the dirt for some OL gold in the mid-to-late rounds.

That's a list with more players I know nothing about, than guys I do. Surprised to see this as our primarily reported list of video visits.

If "his" guy isn't on the board from the top OT's, I am thinking he will pass them up altogether, then go get guys later.
But if his guy is there, regardless of being BPA or not, I think he would take them.

The lesser knowns are the ones you want to know more about. Lack of Pro Days really impacts a scouting department's ability to go out and interview these players.

I think Tristan Wirfs is Joe's guy.

James Smith-Williams is a culture guy. He'll be valuable in a locker room. He has some serious injury concerns, but he's the kind of player that is worth a 6th or 7th round pick or as a priority UDFA because of what he brings to your team as a leader.
Dabo Swinney gave him a ton of praise a few times. The coaches in the ACC really respected him.
Reminds me a lot of Jordan Jenkins.

Cesar Ruiz, one of the top interior offensive lineman in this draft class, is receiving a ton of interest. He’s already met with 20 teams that include the #Dolphins and #Bears. He also has FaceTime meetings with the #Giants and #Jets in the coming days, per source.

I would think he’s a trade down candidate for sure. Especially if we end up outside the range of the top 3 WRs.
If we do tab him, do you think he becomes the starting C and pushes McGovern to OG? Or does he end up as an OG for us?

I'd prefer to keep McGovern at center and put Ruiz at guard.

Big Doug's goal: have o-line so interchangeable, they will walk up to the ball, but not knowing who will line up where. Just switch them all around randomly to freak with defenses.

Add Andrew Thomas to virtual meetings

I don't see Ruggs on that list. Lamb and Jeudy both there.

I don’t see it as an issue, teams draft guys all the time that they didn’t meet with.
It’s always hard to glean information from visits before the draft.

My favorite RB in this draft, does everything well. If he was that productive behind that terrible line, he should be a solid NFL back.
-
I would love Akers at 79 but I don’t think he is going to be there.
If we either had more picks or less needs, I wouldn’t be opposed to him earlier, but I don’t think we can afford to take a back any earlier than 79.

In a perfect world, we draft our Le'Veon Bell replacement this year, but I agree, 79 is probably the earliest I would want to go there. Dobbins and Taylor both look like stars, but we need to build up the OL before any RB looks great.

Kristian Fulton is the best player available

Kindle Vildor also sounds like a GoT character and is therefore undraftable.
