FYI: There's another bar that has potential near Penn Station for hanging out or just a get-together spot before dinner if you want an alternative to Beer Authority or anything like that. It's called District Tap House and it's on 38th St. right off of 7th Ave. They have a ton of taps and the place is pretty big. I had a pint in there last month and I was pleasantly happy to see they had one of the best beers being made in Brooklyn (Other Half) on tap and looked like they had decent food too.

Just throwing it out there. It's in a good spot for all transit and very easy to find. I just looked at their tap menu on beermenus.com and its pretty damn impressive.
