But is it Rex Hogan's fault? No clue.

He oversees both pro and college scouting.  He holds a lot of the blame.

This move also means 2024 is the last run for Douglas.

I'll wait and see who they bring before I feel any type of way about this.
Likely someone we've never heard of.

Yep. Probably a good thing to shake things up because the Jets have not been good enough. But is it Rex Hogan's fault? No clue.

We have consistently had the same failings of drafting and recruiting players and coaches on the offensive side of the ball across multiple GMs and coaching staffs. He, Woody and Brant Boyer are the only constants in senior positions across those different regimes, so while he may not be the whole problem he's definitely part of it.

Seems like odd timing unless his successor is in the building.  You'd think this would have been done prior to the start of the offseason

The biggest issue will always be Woody Johnson. He cares way too much what the fanbase thinks, and making sure he can make a big splash with them to sell tickets. This is a major problem because the fanbase is, by and large, morons.

It's going to have to be someone who believes in Douglas, because for a job that might last less than 12 months you have to be bought in on who you're working for.

Someone who spent/lasted 20 seasons in Baltimore's FO should be competent.

Just so we're clear...Hogan's firing and replacement isn't moving any needles.

In fact, usually scouting personnel get canned after the draft...so the timing may actually hurt us.

Meh at best right now. We'll see what plays out.

@RichCimini

One important addition to the Rex Hogan departure: It occurred a few weeks ago, per sources. It didn’t happen today. That should put to rest the speculation that is swirling on social media. #Jets

So why are you only reporting that now Rich?
Teams that draft well do so no matter where they pick. Teams that draft poorly do so no matter where they pick I want my team to win games and draft well
