Some position group will likely need to be neglected a little with the needs on this team and dwindling cap space. It may make sense to let safety be the area that gets less attention than other places.  We have the 2 starters.  Onlyfans is a solid backup.  This defense is built strong on the line to get after the passer so the secondary has to cover for less of a time on passing downs.  I think it would make sense to draft a mid round safety to develop and backup the starters instead of spending more money on a free agent.  I'd rather spend cap space on depth OL.  Also a fat run plugger on the DL.

Yeah, my stance all along has been, all offense in this draft. The defense has been overloaded for years. Now it's time for coaching to do its job with what it has. All further resources now should be put into offense.

my two sentences were separate thoughts haha. i wanted to keep davis then and now. i was looking at our safety group in your post and thought pinnock would work well with our group overall. could have been another young, homegrown, cost-controlled member of the team. i was bummed when we cut him. i thought he'd shown some nice flashes for us in the final couple of games of the 2021 season.
