No one's asking him to suck a dick, just to show solidarity with and support for those who are oppressed for doing so. He can freak off citing Christianity as a reason not to, my Dad is an Anglican priest and he would have some words for Provorov about Jesus's teachings on tolerance, acceptance and persecution.
I can only imagine the whining from the people currently cheering for Provorov if a Muslim player took a similar stance.
I'm sorry JE but I find that unreasonable in that you want it both ways. You deny him his right to choose while invalidating his value system in the same breath. As for your Anglican priest father's sense of tolerance, I would also think that dear ol' dad would acknowledge that 'tolerance' is a give and take, two-way street. Me, I'd have donned a
"Gay Is OK!" jersey for the pre-game skate and maybe even gussied-up my CCM Super Tacks in
rainbow hues but that's not the point. The point is that while I disagree with Provorov's tact I also accept the notion of to each his own.
As for the Muslim assumption (in all its prickly, self-serving cynicism *wink*), I don't have to remind you as to where homosexuality's harshly punishable and in some 'certain circles' unconscionably, by death...imagine. Agree to disagree. We're on the same page for the most part. I'm simply more tolerant you closet totalitarian-lol.
As I type this, the Eagles have jumped out to a 28-0 halftime lead en route to hopefully a one-sided rout. To that end all praise to Allah.
