Wow that is always terrifying.
It wasn’t until my days of playing (a completely different non-violent sport) that I realized to even be a college athlete you have to be partially insane. The things you put your body through, pushing it to its limits and the sacrifices you make both physically and otherwise is absolutely incredible.
To be able to make it as a professional athlete, specifically in football I firmly believe you have to be some level of crazy. To keep going through those things requires a mindset that a “normal” person simply cannot fathom or understand.
It’s terrifying reading stuff like that. The one positive is that he is using his story to push for changes so that nfl vets can receive better long term benefits and supports.
