The #Jets gave DE John Franklin-Myers permission three weeks ago to speak to teams about a trade, per source. The Broncos showed interest. JFM agreed to a new, two-year deal with Denver (a pay cut from what he was due to make with the Jets, but still a chunk of guaranteed money).

Then, the two teams agreed on trade compensation, but the deal almost got blown up yesterday when the Jets traded the pick that was supposed to go to Denver (used it in the Corley trade-up), per source.

The deal appeared in jeopardy, but the Jets and Broncos agreed to the new compensation (a sixth rounder in 2026). JFM will sign his new deal tomorrow.

Said this elsewhere, but while I liked JFM, we needed cap relief. We came into the weekend with around 2M in total space.

We still have to sign all the rookies, UDFAs, and there are always acquisitions in-season.
