I'm not interested in defending Gase (I was not supportive of his hiring) but I think it's ludicrous to call for his immediate execution given the circumstances.
Agreed, but the way this board is, not wanting to execute Gase means you're supporting him. That's basically how I felt about Geno.
I'm not opposed to firing Gase at the end of the year if this continues. I just don't think you can judge him right now. All offseason, the refrain about the Jets was, "The starting lineup is solid, but they have no depth." Well, we've been as ravaged by injuries as any team in the NFL, and the lack of depth is getting exposed. And the two major problem areas entering the season (OL and CB) have remained problems, with OL being far worse than anyone would have thought.
