I could get behind that matchup assuming the Panthers win.

I'd be good with either.  Another Manning SB win further diminishes the claim that Brady is the greatest QB of all time.

We really want Denver to win, and then repeat next year. It removes one more NE argument about Brady being the best QB of his generation.

Peyton's unreal regular season is good enough for that.

I won't be upset if the Broncos win, and it definitely wouldn't be surprising, but after the Patriots they're the team I'd least like to see win it all.

The rings argument will always be there for NE fans though.

Doesn't bother me enough to root for Peyton after a decade of resentment.

If Peyton gets one here he would be 2-1 in the Super Bowl, to Brady's 3-2. Brady would still have a slight edge but not nearly as much, and Peyton would have done it with two separate teams/coaches.

Man, if that happens and nyjunc ever posts here regularly it could get ugly.
So it turns out, Italian Seafood was right an everyone can go freak themselves.

I've said this a lot over the past decade:

Tom Brady is the best quarterback of this era

Peyton Manning is the best passer of this era

I love making the passer/quarterback distinction when comparing two players, but once in a while someone responds to it with "what r u talkin about, its the same thing dumb derriere."

I think that's a little unfair on Peyton and I don't agree with it really, but I don't want to go all nyjunc.

Who would you take in the playoffs or in a two-minute drill to win the game?

Tom Brady gets it done more than Peyton Manning.

Eli gets that done more often.

I would take Brady every time.

More than that, I would love for nyjunc to post here more often. We could finally start the UNC vs The World forum we discussed on TGG. Speaking of which, I recently went to post something there and discovered I'm no longer "authorized" to post there, but my account is still logged in and that works. Weird.

If I want someone to win the game for me inside the first 58 minutes I'm taking Peyton though.

Brady can be beaten by defenses. We see it happen every season - defeat the NE game plan and you can win going away. Yes, it's difficult, and yes, chasing a close game down inside the last two minutes Brady is out of this world, but I still don't think that he or anyone else is on Peyton's level when it comes to reading and reacting to a defensive scheme.
