Yeah it is pretty ridiculous when you look at the big picture. If he ends up turning the team around then the salary isn’t really a topic of discussion.

The marlins will be full dumpster fire mode for the foreseeable future. Probably until they get a couple decent players, at which point their next firesale will occur.
So it's OK for Captain Mediocre to still be secretly working for the Steinbrenners and sending Miami's biggest asset to the big urinal for a third rate infielder and trashheap "prospects" plus handing them $35 million?

I'm sure the rest of the AL East agrees with you

Jeter tried to trade him to St. Louis or San Francisco, but Stanton invoked his no trade clause. I don’t think you can blame Jeter in this scenario.

If I were a Mets fan I would be pretty pissed about this trade too since your front office just sat on their hands and watched it happen. The Mets could have easily beaten that offer by taking on more salary or offering a better prospect package.

Also, lol at Guzman being a trashheap prospect. He sits at 99 and has touched 102 mpg and is considered one of the top fastball pitching prospects in the game. He’s only the Yankees #7 prospect but would rank #1 or #2 in the Mets system. Seriously- fangraphs has him graded as a 50 FV and the Mets don’t currently have anyone in their system with a higher grade than that.

Don't worry about the Mets front-runner boy

The Mets were in the WS sometime in the last 3 seasons, your Stripers with their 700 million PR and 140 foot pennant porch in RF of the big urinal

Not so much

Please stop blubbering about the Mets, loser.

Alderson said variety of reasons, including cost, moved him not to even “feign interest” in Stanton. #Mets

Pathetic

Your Met jealousy

Pathetic.

The Mets are fine...actually played in the WS in 2015 even

Let me know when the Pinstriped Kings of Major League strikeouts get there

Besides, the Mets have to do it on their own. They don't have a former mediocre shortstop working for them to try and destroy the Miami franchise

The Mets.

But your Pinstripers will definitely break the ALL TIME MLB record for strikeouts in a season, probably before July 15

Did you buy yourself a Michael Kors Purse?

Didn't you have one to carry Tammy in?

It's not nearly the news of the Stanton trade, but Mike Harkey is returning. I'm a fan of the move. I didn't think he'd return, given he's good friends with Girardi.

Now can they turn Ellsbury, Frazier, or Gardner into a pitcher? There's no room for all of them.

So does the Stanton deal all but assure Torres gets the second base job coming into spring training?

Total hypothetical: the Mets are looking for a reliever for Matt Harvey. Would you do Harvey for Betances?
Teams that draft well do so no matter where they pick. Teams that draft poorly do so no matter where they pick I want my team to win games and draft well
