He is a former learning specialist for UNC's athletic department. I'm not saying the guy is right or wrong, but it is a "blurb here and there". That was my point. It is going to be hard to find people that will be fair on either side of this argument. But they are student-athletes, not just athletes. It seems no one cares about the women's basketball program or other "lesser" programs as long as the precious, money-making men's basketball team isn't affected, God-forbid.
if the men's team did the same things as the women's team they would deserve harsh punishment. as it is the men's team did very little wrong as detailed in the wainstein report. were they perfect? No, mistakes were made all around but this was mostly an academic issue at the school and every school has easier classes. as detailed in the wainstein report the men's basketball players thought it was a legit class and handed in all their work for it. That didn't happen w/ all sports there.
The Nat'l media is up and arms and has been for a long time over this, the problem is they are making things up as they go along. The fact that any media member would compare the blatant cheating at SU and what happened at Carolina tells us all we need to know.
