i really hope the "influencer industry" dies out from this excrement.
Why would that, or anything good, ever happen?

i've commented this in other threads before but this addiction to attention from social media is literally the driving factor behind why random 'regular' girls are now making/selling soft/hard porn on only fans while not actually thinking they're making/selling porn

you can find any hot 'random' girl on the internet now and shell have an only fans

this world is going to end soon

im not seeing an issue with women being able to safely and confidentially make money.

ive seen reasoning ranging from "im going to be taking pics and touching myself anyway, i may as well make some money" to "my body is an asset, just like a conventional model, they sell their beauty and i sell mine".

end of the day, why are you complaining about having easier access to more titty pics?

honestly, all the power to them if they want to do this stuff. it's not about mates and if anything this current trend makes it easier to get girls.

it bothers me on a couple of fronts. it bothers me that our society has taken such a shift towards feeling that attention from others and from people you haven't met/will never meet is a must, and is the barometer used by many now for self validation. very vain and superficial concepts are pushed on us at all times, and nothing is merit based anymore. people literally become famous because they're genetically hot and start posting on instagram, and they actually end up with the label 'influencers' lmao. we've seen what these people have/have not contributed to the discourse of the major events going on the past few days

the other thing that bothers me most about all of it is the feminist aspect. despite this current wave and trend we're seeing with the million only fans girls out there, who are completely fine with exposing themselves/their bodies for the money they're getting, we all know that feminists are still going to come at men until the end of time regarding how fucked up the objectification of women is, while either being critical of or doing nothing to empower their female counterparts who choose to do this with their bodies.

I don't think this is a thoughtless response but it's lacking in material analysis - this isn't just a societal thing but very much the result of young women weighing their options for making a living and deciding this is actually less degrading than what the job market offers. Of course there are going to be exceptions where girls just do it because they can, not out of need, but I suspect that's not usually the case.

again all the power to them and i agree with the premise of your post completely, but i am not sure that this analysis is occurring. to me it's seemed a little alarming that the popularity/influence and focus on social media in our society today has essentially warped young impressionable females into thinking that this is what they SHOULD ultimately do with the 'influence', following, and community they gain via these initial free apps. i honestly don't think any other consideration is done regarding a way they can positively contribute to their own life or to society, because it's the easiest thing to do. and why not? they're making 6 figures off of it

an only fans account can make a girl who was posting her body for free on other apps anyways feel a sense of empowerment and agency over her body for sure. my only qualm about the 'less degrading' statement is that a portion of these girls feel like they have some moral high ground over 'actual porn stars' because they're doing it on only fans and not for some b-list movie company or something bigger like brazzers. when i see those comments from them it seems like there is a disconnect of understanding between what they're actually doing and how they feel about the concepts of 'porn'/'girls who are pornstars'

This dissonance among sex workers already existed long before Onlyfans went live. "I am better than [group] because at least I don't do [thing]," has always been a part of sex work.

understood, it's still annoying to see and i feel like this concept is a lot more present and in your face now with how popularized sex work has become

I can't quite put it into words at the moment but the latter group seems like more of an honest living to me.

They both get paid to post pictures/videos and are funded by the dollars of simpleminded people

Imagine actually paying money for an onlyfans subscription when there is an infinite supply of free porn on the internet

The difference is that with onlyfans those dollars are a direct transaction of money for services. "Influencers" are generally vehicles for collecting audiences that can then be sold to a third party for the purposes of commercial advertising.

I can see the parallel you're making but like Badger, I think that the onlyfans model is slightly more honest. And I don't really have any issue with girls who want to make money from showing men their bodies doing so via a platform that puts the control of what they show, how and when they show it, and how much they charge for it, in their hands.
