He's got a smart model. He makes a good movie (Saw, The Conjuring, Insidious) and then lets other people do the legwork making progressively less good sequels to them while he produces them and makes big box office coin.
What about the Blomkamp model? Make one good movie and then every subsequent one is half as good as the one before it.

I enjoyed it for what it is - it's a slasher film. The plot and the dialogue will be cheese. Success is based on the kills and this movie had some entertaining kills.
