I was worried when they set the release date for late February, but I just saw Annihilation and it was excellent.  Maybe not quite up there with Ex Machina, but very close.

The bear scene...can't stop thinking about this one.

The characters, the direction and the script.

But did you like the wardrobe.

The Disaster Artist was amazing.

Yes it was. Franco’s accent must have taken him forever to nail and his brother was also fantastic. Seth Rogen and Paul Scheer were also hilarious. A fun movie to watch.

We saw I, Tonya a little while ago too. I liked it but it was a bit over the top for me.

The CGI was super distracting.

The Death of Stalin.  If you like Iannucci's formula, you'll love it.

Baby Driver not winning either of the sound awards is some bullshit.

Quote
Yep, DiCaprio and Pitt have officially signed up for Quentin Tarantino’s next film, Once Upon a Time in Hollywood.

As the title suggests, the story takes place in Los Angeles, where characters Rick Dalton (DiCaprio), a former Western TV series actor, and Cliff Booth (Pitt), his former stunt double, struggle to wrap their heads around an industry heavily impacted by the hippie culture of 1969. Despite the shifting morals and values of ’60s-era Hollywood, one of the few figures the duo does recognize is Rick’s next-door neighbor—Sharon Tate.

Though little else has been revealed about the plot, it’s safe to say the film will touch on Tate’s infamous August 9, 1969, murder at the hands of Charles Manson’s followers. After all, the film is set to be released on August 9, 2019.

Tarantino has worked with both DiCaprio and Pitt on his films Django Unchained and Inglourious Basterds, respectively, and we can’t wait to see what this trifecta brings to the silver screen.

Awesome news. I hated the Sam Mendes movies, hopefully Boyle can get the franchise back on track.

Stand By Me for the first time in ages. There will never be another movie like that made again. Ever. Perfect in every way.

At the risk of a shitty reaction to it, I'm going to post this anyway.

Love, Simon was a good movie, and I felt like it was a really important story to tell. My wife is into a lot of YA stuff, so I see a lot of these book-to-screen movies. I wasn't particularly enthusiastic to see this one but as a father, it really hit me in all the feels.

I think I'll see this on opening night.  Early reviews are through the roof.

I've seen that trailer so many times and it looks really good. I'm a complete bitch when it comes to horror movies though. My wife loves them, I walk out of the room whenever she puts one on.

I’m more excited about Hereditary, but this should be another great year for horror.
