Triple Frontier on Netflix was entertaining and not quite as dumb as I expected it to be.

Everything with the helicopter was dumb, but it wasn't awful.

Robert Eggers won the Critics Prize at Cannes for The Lighthouse (his followup to The Witch).

My dad always says he's undefeated at tailgating

Maybe it's not I who doesn't know what he's talking about

Finally watched Lynne Ramsay's "We Need To Talk About Kevin" after months of it being on my Prime watchlist.
Pretty great film, with heartbreaking, devastating final conversation (no spoilers).

I admit, I did like her Amazon Prime followup, "You Were Never Really Here" better (I've already watched it 3 times). Ramsay is a phenomenal filmmaker, esp in the way she uses music and dream-like visuals to tell story.

If you're extraordinarily wealthy like me and have a Prime membership, and you're ever in too cheerful of a mood, I recommend both movies as a double feature.

(eta: I still haven't seen Morvern Callar, which I've heard is excellent. Also, to be clear, "YWNRH" is one of my favorite movies of like past 5 years. Go watch it.)

Agreed, haha. It's pretty traumatic and doesn't give off many positive vibes.

Although, again, that final scene is masterful. It really stuck with me. Ezra Miller and Swinton were incredible throughout.

I wish there had been a Master and Commander franchise instead of a Pirates of the Caribbean franchise.

Booksmart was hilarious.

It reminded me a lot of Can’t Hardly Wait and Superbad.

JLH is a smokeshow in Can't Hardly Wait....solid flick.

I'm putting John Wick 3: Parabellum in this thread because it belongs here. Another solid entry in the franchise. Zero was great.

Overlord is an almost perfect movie. Knows exactly what it wants to do and executes it perfectly. No complex storyline or unexpected twists or important message, just a really well made action horror movie with tight script, lots of fun moments and a excrement ton of convincingly real gore.

I watched Tag earlier, it was actually really good. I laughed pretty hard a few times and the soundtrack was awesome. The concept seemed a little contrived even though it’s based on a real story, but they pulled it off. Nice chemistry between the actors, I thought.
